Here's my first LP, 1971 and I think that I also bought "Imagine" by John Lennon. (You must have been one year old lol)

I am a man that listens to many music styles, but I favor rock and classics.
This Jethro Tull LP was banned in South Africa because of the "My God" song.
A friend got the LP for me from the UK.
The flute by Ian Anderson mixed with the rock music transfixed me at the time.

Hey mate, thanks for dropping in. I've not listened to much Jethro Tull but have heard this one before and like it.

I've also got a very broad taste in music and am glad of it...Being one dimensional isn't my thing. It's funny to hear about music being banned...Remember that movie Footloose? Kind of weird that people can feel so strongly about it to actually ban music. Still, I suppose there's been some very controversial music in the past.

If you watch the 1971 live video, you will see what a master band front man does with a flute Galen. We were fortunate in those years to have real music, in fact we were spoiled with great music, as I am not much of a fan of the modern techno music.

People were quick to criticize music and not only Footloose, but also the Rocky Horror music, and the Beatles saying that they were more popular than God.
Then there was T Rex singing about "standing on the sand with my balls in my hand" hahahah.

Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Santana and any other band with a strange name was frowned upon here and if one listened to their music, one was condemned as satanic.
Ah, the good old days and I was only 17 years old in 71.

Thank you for the token bra!

Humans are funny creatures Zac. Makes me laugh sometimes, and want to throw up my hands in exasperation at others.

So glad that you and I are not human lol. Some dare to call me eccentric, and I have a suspicion that you wear the same suit lol.

I've been called many things in my life, many uplifting and respect things I can be proud to be called, and many that are much less flattering. All I can be to others is what they perceive me to be...Some get it right, and some are blinded by their own ignorance. Yep, been called eccentric also.

Humans can be terrible creatures I guess, the way the act, the sense of entitlement and the callous way they treat the planet. I'm glad I'm from another planet, just an alien on a mission to gather intel on humans. 😁

Well, join the club, as a child I was called many derogatory names because I had a single parent. She was a stunner and all of the married women feared that their husbands would run after her. We were also banned from playing with their children, or entering their homes. But luckily we lived in a cosmopolitan area and I had a league of nations as friends.

In the late 60s things changed because people knew that I didn't care and in fact that I despised them and their pastors, plus I was a boxing champ, so they started to treat me differently with much better names, but the damage was done and I continue to this day on my own with respect to all.

I perceive you to be a fellow alien and that's why we are friends!

Ps. Only my wife calls me eccentric and like you, I couldn't be bothered what others call me, just as long as I am kind to everyone. lol.

That's one cool green body suit that you have on here and I wonder if they have xtra large in that color.

They have all colours and sizes on my planet, everyone wears those suits...It's the height of fashion.

Eccentric is a way lot more polite term than I usually hear about me :)

Hah, yep I've had way worse, but it's all good, build character.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I was hoping someone would have a Jethro Tull selection, so dang much music on this one little post. A shame there just is not enough room for all the music. Armies of my Brothers that line always got me. I love that I have found a few new ones I missed, like Joe Satriani and Death Cab for Cutie, and a few others. It is a good music weekend.

Some really great music on this post.
And then we haven't even touched so many other rock groups.
I am thinking here of Led Zeppelin, T Rex, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, and all of the rock ballads.Hahaha, you are right and maybe @galenkp must start a "MusicBox" channel?

Thank you for the token my friend and have a good Sunday!

I an surprised about the non mentions of them, but there is just so much music and they are so well known that I think people wanted to bring up some of the less often mentioned that they have enjoyed music wise, which was nice because I saw/heard a lot of new music that I had not heard before.

Yes, you are correct, as I also picked up some new music there.

Blessings! Like I said elsewhere, that was indeed a great post by @galenkp.

"Eyeing little girls with evil intent.."

Jethro Tull was just amazing in the day. Music nobody had ever heard.

And so much criticism Sir Tom.

They were accused of corrupting children and I can't remember the exact argument, as it was so long ago, but I do remember it was about the lyrics of one song on the LP. Titled; "Mother Goose" offending lyrics; "As I did walk by Hampstead Fair, I came upon mother goose so I turned her loose, she was screaming"

I think some teenagers went and turned captive animals loose.

Well, I'm guessing they had a hand in corrupting me, but I was no longer a child :) And I probably did a fair job of corrupting myself.

Hahaha, as long as the long arm of the law stayed away from you.
I had a few scraps with them in my younger "wild" days and I have a faint suspicion so did you lol.

Ahahahahaha. Maybe once or twice, it was always some one else's fault. The truth is, I skated pretty well. My younger brother got caught at everything. :)

Yeah, my mistake was always being caught red handed lol.
Small fines, but thank goodness never imprisoned.

I really only spent a couple of nights in jail. Always because I was roaring drunk.
More than a couple fines, mostly traffic.
