You've got to start somewhere 💪
I just hit the 1.5-year mark on going to the gym consistently. I started at the end of September 2021 and somehow have managed to stay on track as we continue forth through 2023. My last update was about a month ago, so I figured now is a good time to talk about how things are going again.
There have been times when I lost motivation a bit, but there was always a reason behind it. It was either because of my old job making me feel exhausted and like I had no free time always. Then there were a couple of times that I got sick or was away on vacation. Neither one of those has happened in the past 6 months though. This means that I've been very consistent as of late.
I tend to go to the gym about 4 or 5 days a week. I usually spend anywhere from 90-100 minutes there. I have been trying to do an ab routine at the end of every workout. It's all going pretty well and I feel like I am getting stronger each month.
Along with that newfound strength comes a higher level of confidence. I've always been a fairly confident person, but I think there is room for improvement no matter how confident you think that you already are.
Not only am I more confident in the gym, but also outside of it. I don't feel intimidated to walk up and talk to a random person ever anymore, this includes women of course. I know that I look stronger than what I see in the mirror and I constantly have to remind myself that I'm no longer a thin boy unable to hold weight.
Not only do I enjoy working out and just being in a gym environment, but it has provided me with so many benefits. I feel like I'm even sleeping better because I'm expending so much energy during the mornings and I go to bed tired. More on my thoughts about sleep here.
When it comes to my body, I am trying to train everything equally. However, some areas seem to be stronger than others, especially in terms of looks. I think that my calves are by far the strongest part of my body and that has always been the case since I grew up playing soccer and basketball. Plus my dad and brother both have juicy calves, so I think it's in my blood.
My favorite thing to train outside of calves would most certainly be my arms. My triceps always feel so good when I focus on them, but I especially love getting a good bicep pump. As you can probably see in the thumbnail image of this post, my arms are finally starting to look fairly big.
One thing about all of this muscle I've put on is that a lot of it you cannot see. I certainly feel it though. The main reason that my muscles aren't popping out is that I have a decent layer of fat covering my body. This hides the strong muscle that is underneath. I also think that my tattoos make it extremely hard to see the details of my muscles. It's all like a big blog of inky skin to me.
The one thing I make sure of is to just stay focused on the goals and not care too much about how I look. I've had a few random people say that I look like I go to the gym. I've even had a guy walk up to me while I was on a date and squeeze my biceps in front of this random girl. Things like that are all I need as confirmation that changes are happening to my body that I may not be able to see. When you look at yourself in the mirror daily, it's hard to notice a change. Especially when you have been skinny almost all of your life, you cannot erase the visual.
I'm not going to try to tell you that you need to go to the gym. I will however say that you without a doubt do need to have some sort of fitness routine in your life. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, but the harder you push yourself the stronger and more confident you will become.
I'll end this with a little before and after photo for you.

Ok Kim K:
arms so huge they manipulating spacetime
This gym will bend to my will.
xd did u re-shop it?
It was enhanced, I believe that's what you're asking. First time trying that, obviously. The original isn't that much different though. Slightly less full maybe? I will provide the first take for more transparency. Even as is, they still beat my old stick boy arms by a mile. All my favorite shirts are now tight though 🥲. I honestly just suck at taking gym photos, but I sure know how to lift shit.
Dude - just post photos as you actually are. It is a sad world when people are "enhancing" their digital images so much in order to feel better about themselves in real life...
Ok man 👌
Although that's almost like telling a photographer not to edit their photos or a graphic designer not to manipulate photos. I believe we all should be smart enough to not believe everything we see online and if anything I was just hoping to motivate somebody else to stop being lazy and get physically active. I also think we all deserve to be able to do what we want to our images and it is 100% within your rights to not like it as well.
For all I know you got catfished by a girl who had overly edited photos and that's where your trauma lies. Hell, it's happened to me before. That or you just don't want anybody to have bigger muscles than you 😜
All jokes aside I respect what you say even though I don't agree with it fully. Will I do something like this again in the future, nope. I do invite you to look through any of my other photos for another instance like this. I personally wouldn't waste my time with such a silly task but every bit of my fitness progress is on chain. All I'm saying is I had never "enhanced" my gym photos in the past. You weren't there for those though, at least not to my knowledge.
You never know who you are dealing with online. For all you know, I could be some dude who got made fun of for being skinny most of his life and still struggles with body dysmorphia despite clear strength gains. Me though? No never. I didn't have a 3-4 year phase of anorexia when I was starving myself as a vegan. Nope, certainly not me.
It's all love man. I'll happily shake your hand and share a drink if I ever get to meet you at a future HiveFest or another gathering.
🤣
April Fools! Surely!
I dunno - looks like it was posted April 2nd - at least blockchain time.
I think tomorrow should be a leg day :)
Calves are juicy, but the quads are still lacking in my opinion.

Physical activity can be a great way to boost your confidence. Engaging in regular exercise helps you to achieve goals. Additionally, physical activity releases endorphins and improves overall mental health.
All of this is true 🤩
Mad guns bro! I'll be closing in on one year of inconsistent gym crawling come July. Hoping to at least keep in super consistent up until then. Keep it up!
I wish I had measured my arms before I started working out. I used to be able to wrap my thumb and middle finger all the way around it and touch the fingers together. Now I can’t even get halfway, so I know my arms are nearly double the size they used to be. However, when I look in the mirror they look the exact same to me. It’s crazy how our brains work, I think they call it body dysmorphia.
One year is a long time man! At least you’ve had it in mind for that long and even acted on it although somewhat inconsistently as you mentioned. I think if you are willing to sacrifice at least an hour of your day to get out and be active, then you’re bound to see and feel results.
Incredible biceps, I'm impressed, and yes you have changed, those tattoos and that beard plus those muscles, it's very attractive.
I congratulate you, the best way to lose body fat is to make a caloric deficit and keep training with weights. I can tell you like to train biceps, I recommend you to train shoulders and back because you also have good genetics in the upper body, you are going to look like a sexy Viking. 😏🤤😍
The easiest way to not overeat is to not keep junk food in the house.
A sexy Viking is a great goal! I will continue to strive towards that.
Exactly, eat clean, and I recommend you do the abs workout at the beginning, so you also condition and warm up your body better to do the workout, whether it is upper or lower body.
Easy to get with photoshop.
The progress on your biceps is real. I have close to 1.5 years since I joined the gym but so far I don't have any spectacular results to show off.
Thanks a lot! Maybe you have results but you are unable to see them, that's kind of how I feel about myself. I swear when I look in the mirror I still feel like I'm the same 140lb chump with tiny arms. Mentally though, I know there is no way that's true since I've been going at it for nearly 2 years straight now. I'm without a doubt stronger, so my appearance must have changed in that time. I worry less about how I look and more about how I feel.
💪😎
i think someone took the tennis balls out of your arms and put in softballs! wow!
what's your bicep / arm routine.. u must hit that multiple days per week.. :)
I actually do a split most week. So I combine back/biceps one day. Then chest/triceps another day. Both of which include like 6 different exercises for each muscle.
Then I do legs on the third workout and take a day off after to recover. Last workout of the week is shoulders/arms (both biceps and triceps).
I do abs every day I'm at the gym now. I also try to mix in some forearms exercises most days.
😉😎 wow, that sounds like a great split routine. it's so cool that u see that good of results like that! maybe your bi's saw that u went full bald, so they were like.. ok, we'll just add that bit of growth to your arms! :P
A bald head comes with more benefits than one may think.
first of all. Impressive gains my man.
Second I love seeing the confidence I have gained from going to the gym more the last few months. Feel better. think better. sleep better
The arms have definitely grown 😜
I’m happy to hear you are also getting good results. Both in terms of confidence and sleep. Two of the most important things in life.
Dayum, yeah I can't say the same.. I hit it up nicely for 8 months and then fell down the lazy rabbit hole😂🐰🕳️
Getting back into it is not as easy as it seems so try not to stop😂
I've had periods of my life where I either didn't do anything at all in terms of fitness OR failed to stay consistent. It's never to late to commit though.
I agree 100%
Not only does it boost my confidence but it's therapeutic in the sense that I destress and feel my negative energy extracted.
Lately I haven't been able to do any breakdnacing as my knees are acting up. I'm into calisthenics nowadays.
I do feel blissful upon leaving the gym. A true sense of accomplishment every time.
Breakdancing is an excellent way to bills strength and endurance. So is calisthenics.
You really tried so much to have been that consistent. Going to the gym causes me pain and that is why I always run away. Hahaha
Going to the gym is what prevents me from being in pain. Other than the soreness the day after a hard workout. I consider myself lucky.
Physical exercise is great and has so many benefits... it's been a bit tough for me lately to get some decent exercise going... been a long battle with a few health issues lately.
Bad health will slow anybody down, no matter how strong they may be mentally. I hope you can get healthy again soon!
Your environment is more powerful than any other motivation ❤ Awesome way of expressing the summaries.
Being around other people who are motivated to better themselves sure does make the process a lot easier.
Physical fitness is both body and mind for leading a good life. And that is why daily physical exercise is necessary. It's nice to see your physical exercise and body structure.
Thank you. I agree with you on that.
Your body is great and tatoo is very beautifull
Much appreciated dear friend.
Que bien tu marca continua hacia adelante, yo llevo 8 meses haciendo 3000 flexiones de pecho diariamente. Sin perder un día.
Small DV to discourage the practice.
Also we have all seen enough of exyle’s gym selfies; if you don’t know what I am talking about do some looking around.
People have destroyed their blog this way. Just a cautionary note.
Oh yes, how could I forget exyle. I never knew how to pronounce that dude's name. I guess he should have called himself exile.
