I slept in today because I could. This is day 3 of my 7 day “water fast” and today is the beginning of my weekend so I now have 2 days off. YAY!
This morning I weighed myself on my scale and it said 171 lbs.
Yesterday at work I experienced many times that I wanted to eat something because I am literally surrounded by food all day as I work in a health-food grocery store.
I just kept drinking lots of water. I drank a lot of bottled sparkling water because it was more fun than just plain flat water. But still it was just water. No additives and no flavoring.
I was feeling very tired yesterday. My body is feeling sluggish like I’m moving through molasses, but at the same time I am feeling lighter.
I am feeling spacey (lightheaded) but I am also feeling much better than I was before I began this fast. My caffeine withdrawal headaches only lasted 1 day, which is pretty great because I expected them to last 2 or 3 days.
I’m very glad that I have a few days off because now I can rest. Around 5am this morning I got up and soaked in a nice tub of hot water. It was very enjoyable and relaxing.
When I am fasting I like to do the occasional soak in hot water. I feel it helps to cleanse my system because it makes my body sweat. If I had a sauna I would use that, but I don’t.
Also I will do a “salt water flush” today.
What's that?
A salt water flush is 2 tsp of sea salt mixed into 32 ounces of hot water, which I will drink all at once straight down.
Because of the ratio of salt to water, it works as a laxative to flush out any waste products that are just sitting in my bowels and intestines. This procedure will wash those toxins away and prevent headaches and nausea that can occur if they are not removed.
It makes very good sense to me that they should be removed so that they are not affecting my system in any negative ways.
Today I will again soak in a nice hot relaxing tub of water. But I think before I do any of that I will go to the store where I work and buy some more sparkling water! :-)
@taliakerch Asked me in a comment on yesterdays post, “do you have irritation and anger on everything because of hunger?”
Yes I find that during a “water fast” I am very much more sensitive emotionally and I have to remind myself of this throughout the course of the day, so I do not overreact to people and the different situations, comments, stresses, etc.
Okay I guess that’s all for now!
& support!
Stay tuned for more updates! :-)
Dear reader If you enjoyed this posting please UPVOTE/FOLLOW it really helps!
Thank you. :-)
Be careful you don't dilute your system too much. Electrolytes are needed, and too much water can be quite dangerous. As a long distance runner I am challenged with this because I prefer drinking water instead of the sugary sports drinks, and take electrolyte supplements along with the water on very long runs. https://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/features/water-intoxication#1
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! :-)
Yes it's very true that if not done properly an extended water fast can be quite dangerous!
I always recommend that people very carefully do their own research before beginning, since water-fasting is still very misunderstood by so many, certainly including those in the medical profession.
If one is interested in perusing a water fast and feels the need to consult a medical professional then they should consult a doctor that actually has good experience and practice with extended water-fasting, since the average doctor on the street as it were, may actually be quite clueless, and or have wrong information.
Great advice. Thanks.
Goodness!
Rather you than me.
:)
Just the thought of downing hot salt water makes me feel squeamish!
Hope it all goes to plan.
And sure you will feel the benefits when done.
Wishing you well.

Thank you for your great comment you made me smile! :-)
Also thank you for your support! :-)
Wishing you a happy day! :-)
Yay, it's great to meet another faster on here! I haven't done any extended water fasts recently, but I've been considering doing a 7-day soon. How often do you usually do them?
Thank you for your comment and your support! :-)
I usually do a couple a year.
I also like the "Master Cleanse" very much and do at least one a year but usually do it for around a month instead of just 10 days.
salt water? have never heard it's useful..
salt is considered to be a poison now..so much controversions about any topics.. how not to be lost I wonder..
after 3 days you'll feel no hunger yes?
Thanks for your comment and questions! :-)
I should have specified that I don't use regular table salt.
I agree. That stuff is no good. I use the Pink Himalayan salt. Very good choice! :-)
Yes after 3 days at the most, there is no more hunger. Sometimes after only 2 days. :-)
oh I have bought it too! very soft one)
what healthy products will you advise me?) as a specialist of this sphere)
Thank you for your attention & question my friend! :-)
Well ideally I would recommend completely unprocessed foods that are also organic, and of course only drink clean water that is without chemicals.
As for Pink Himalayan salt it is very good and has many minerals and can be used to flavor your food for extra nutritional value but of course in moderation. :-)
I am not sure if I answered your question satisfactorily. Let me know if you want clarification on anything specific.
Feel free to ask me anything anytime and I will always do my best to answer. :-)
Wishing you happiness, smiles, sweet dreams and sunshine! :-)
what will you say about sugar and fructose?
kinds of flour? сereals?
and what about coconut oil?
and oils in general? which one do you eat?
I go to healthy stores often and buy many things, studying info about them in the web but your opinion is very interesting because you're inside this sphere)
I like a good organic coconut oil. I don't know what brands you have available in your country.
I stay away from fructose.
Sugar isn't really supposed to be too good either but fructose is worse.
I stay away from any artificial sweeteners.
I stay away from soy products.
Flour should be organic and not bromated. King Arthur organic flour is my choice.
fructose is worse??? why?
