One of the most common complaints I hear from people with young accounts is it is difficult to find a following. I agree it is difficult to find others who might be interested in your posts. Don't feel too bad even those of us who have built an audience are feeling like readers are a bit scare right now.
Let's try this... (I have no idea if it will be effective)
Make a comment giving a short description of who you are and what you write about. I'm not looking for your real life name, but rather who you are on Steem and what you are about and interested in.
One of the reasons I quit myspace and moved to Facebook was how easy Facebook made it in the early years to find your friends and those who held the same interests. It was a lot more fun to engage with people who I either knew or had shared interests with.
I encourage you (on this post only to) drop a link and a description of yourself in the comments. If you drop one, also find someone else to follow. It is a slightly organized follow4follow post.
I will highlight the 10 introductions that I find the most interesting and there might be bonuses as well.
It's just an experiment, take a minute post about your interests and if you think it might be helpful give it a resteem.

That’s pretty much what’s it’s become. Don’t get me wrong...one of the goals is to build up my account to where it allows me freedoms to do the things I want and envision but it’s become so much more than that. The satisfaction I get when someone actually likes something I contributed is fantastic.

Sadly our shop isn’t really a hobby shop but more of a comic book and toy store. Action figures, funko pops, statues, t-shirts, graphic novels. Things like that. We don’t really do the models. Hell, even gaming we are very limited with as there are so many gaming shops in our area.

I enjoy writing and making music, it is therapeutic for me. It's kinda like writing in my diary or journal and then expressing it out loud. I post my songs on @dsound and they are more of a sad hiphop type genre just to warn you if you go looking at my sounds :)
I recently was living in Southern California running a medical @cannabis business with 2 greenhouses that I had to build from the ground up ( I should make a post about that) that also did thc extractions, but laws change and so we had to adjust to them. Hence, why I am back in Illinois.
I also plan on getting on @dlive and streaming whenever I work on a song or just game to meet new people. I am getting obsessed with @steemmonsters thanks to @clove71 and the rest of the @steemspeak community! I'm still waiting for my first gold foil card, but it will come with time :)

I like beer! lol My buddy back in South Carolina is actually pursuing a career in the brewing industry. He has been home brewing for a couple of years now. Hello everyone! I am @donna-metcalfe and I like to think about things and then write about them. Well, I think about all sorts of things and I only write about some of them. Some things I talk about and then think, I could write about that! Some things I think about and then think, hmm, I probably shouldn't share those thoughts with anyone. But I digress.
I write about things that interest me, and that covers a lot of ground. (One thing I was never interested in was cryptocurrency, until I found Steemit!) I started out writing about my garden, and I still do, but lately I've been writing more about spiritual stuff. I don't know how interesting that is for other people.
I love to learn about other people's lives, how they look at things, how they think about things. It's always a great day when I learn something new! I love words and writers who use words well. If they make me laugh that's a bonus.
The first thing I read from you @whatsup was about the mouse in your house. I didn't know it was not your usual kind of post but it made me laugh and I always like to see what you are thinking about and writing about. Even though it is sometimes serious. I would like people to think about me that way - "Oh boy, here's something new from @donna-metcalfe! I can't wait to see what she's written now!

Whether it's just reaching out to your favourite artist on instagram or to some profession leaders on LinkedIn, the interactivity here kinda leads you to be more open on other platforms too.

I'm an architect-urbanist. I study cities and the systems that inhabit it. A lot of my work involves interacting with the local community to derive plans and strategies for neighbourhoods from their viewpoints. On steemit, I mostly post my artwork, thoughts on design and log my travels.
The platform's been wonderful to me and has inspired so much of my current work. I've been a bit quiet for a couple of weeks though so this tinder-like match meetup is perfect to discover some new people!

Hi all , i am Arif. Professionally i am an oracle database programmer. Personally i try to be lead a honest life. I don't like fake peoples and don't like lie. i like disciplinary life. One of my hobby was to post,comment on facebook. But i did not get so much response and i feel that was waste of my time when i spend much time there though i have friend there whom i chat a very little time. Next i found the steemit with similar functionality of facebook post,comment besides here is a possibility to get a like(upvote) from users that have value. So i feel interest. First 1-3 weeks was so much hard for me. I did not even get 0.001 SBD help from online friend. I am still new here because its only 3 months running of my steemit experience. By thinking of very new steemit users i plan to run a little contest with a little amount of prize. Among my 800+ followers i guess 95% are bots. Papa Rodin is my name and I have been around Steemit for about 6 weeks now. I have about quite a few topics, but the one topic that has given me the most enjoyment so far has been books and things related to it.
I started because I was interested in blogging and steemit was a simple and convenient way to get some experience regarding this. So far, it has been a blast and I am looking forward to expand on that.
I post daily, usually once a day, over the course of this month twice because of me doing some extra work because of the #upvoteplankton and #minnowuprising movements. In the morning, read through a book chapter by chapter together with you, a criminal thriller at the moment while in the noon, I just post about whatever else I feel like.
On weekend, I usually make a quick recap about how the week was, steemit related and I will also cover some posts created by other steemians that left an impact. These posts I usually gather on that same weekend.

Hey everyone Im Conrad, I have been on Steem for about four months now and loving it!
I am from New Zealand but have been living in Spain for 8 months where I teach English. It is summer over here in Europe now and we are travelling around Europe for 3 months (loving it! Never experiences heat like this in my life though)
I generally post about Steemit (helping out new users/community, culture - comparing New Zealand to Europe and my experiences, music (started up the #musicdiscovery tag which I love and have met some great people through, crypto, tech and memes!
I am a noob that writes about alcohol problems regularly. At least I try to blog regularly (that is I do blog unregularly^^). Sometimes I write about games and stuff. I also state opinions on several things. And I always try to make sure that my reasoning is consistent enough to actually publish my opinion.
I've seen some others who write about alcohol addiction recovery! Maybe you will find each other. I've wondered about having 12 step meetings/groups online. I'm a fan of recovery.
What are 12 steps? Is this the Alc Anonymous program? I´ve never visited one of their meetings. I thought about creating a community of people who want to fight an addiction whether it´s alcohol or cigarettes or hard drugs or even slight things like coffeine. Yet it is hard to organize stuff on steemit. And I am only sober since 3 weeks so I don´t really feel qualified lol

You just type the bot name in your comment followed by when you want it to remind you of a particular post or comments. In the following examples I'll separate the @ and the bot name since it's just to show you how it works
Eg
@ remind.bot 18 minutes
@ remind.bot 10 hours
@ remind.bot 9 days.
It's very effective because often times I see a post I want to read later or check out in the future. I have never tested to see if it can work for weeks or for months. But it's cool

Yes, that's the idea. It will also mention my user name. Since I use Ginabot for notification when my name is mentioned, I'll get a notification on my phone that I've been mentioned by remind.bot
