@rok-sivante As lame as it is, I believe it is intentional and not a glitch. @creatr has lamented this before, several months earlier. I'm not sure if Steemit, Inc. made the decision in order to make the site somehow run smoother/faster or if they think 1 year old+ posts are "irrelevant."
Either way, I would like to see this addressed. Part of the blockchain's point for me is that the content is always preserved and accessible, so why would you build a front end that manually expires it? There are still so many issues with mainline 'Steemit.com' that are barriers to wider adoption.
Yeah. Kinda sad that stuff like this hasn’t been addressed and fixed in the two years we’ve been building, though guess it is what it is for the time being...
I keep a list of my posts in Excel but I think I may have missed some.
That's one way. I also use steemsql for extract sometimes, that's another way. The third way is to search on steemit or even google using your account name and what the title could be.
If you need help extract a list for a date range, let me know.
There was a link provided above to some tool that works in Chrome - not Safari... isn’t a great UI and still a disappointment that can’t do it the normal way, nonetheless is a workaround in the meantime...
The normal way is to keep track myself/yourself. :-)
Even with steemsql, I have a list to track go back.
Actually it's faster then scrolling back list of my post back a year.
Not the most appealing proposition to lure in a growing community of professional content creators, however... :-/
I know but I'm one who believe to always have my own back.
Smart. 😎
Just the fear of losing or wasting time.
Here's a link to said workaround, hosted on my github pages site. I made tweaks so that it should work in Safari now, but I haven't been able to confirm yet.
Thanks. Safari is never my issue though. I'm too cheap for Macs and iPhones. :-)
That isn't cool.We need them for posterity sake.Countless hours have gone into the making of those posts so they are relevant to us besides it is something of a legacy that we can leave to our children.I started using the steempress plugin so i now have sort of a backup of all my posts offsite.
@rok-sivante, First of all it's really unfortunate for sure and that is because, when we are talking about the Decentralised Economy then for sure we should see effectivity in that way.
But, if we are not able to find one year back posts then that's really unfortunate aspect for sure because our work backed with the time and effort and if it's not accessible then that's an negative aspect.
And in my opinion Steemit Team should consider this aspect because we never know which post can help us and for that we have to scroll back and if we fail to get the post that's an discouraging aspect.
Let's hope that, over the time we can see more and more improvements. And if we see small small updates then it can bring the big changes and can bring big effects.
Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂
Yes I've had the same problem using Firefox and it is bollocks.
That didn't used to happen.
I get round it because my Steemit posts are also on my WordPress blog - which works a shitload better than Steemit so I can easily find my old posts.
When I first started using Steemit two years ago people were saying ditch Wordpress and do it all on Steemit. Crap like this pisses me off sometimes.
Yeah, there is definitely a clear advantage displayed in backing up on multiple platforms...
Hello sir...@rok-sivante
Just read your post and I didn't see what I expected to see... I'm so sorry for the bug you noticed... I'm sure this as been a long time thing but most people seem not to notice because they probably don't check thier past works.
As for me, I may also not notice because I have an application (Writer plus) - supports markdown/html in which I write my articles and add images before taking it down to post.
I understand the fact that you have every right to be upset, if it happened to me I'll probably get upset too, but this is not much of an issue if I'll say, because there are so many ways you can rectify this...
You should try http://steemd.com/@rok-sivante, you should be able to get all your past work there starting from the day you joined Steemit...
And I'm so sorry for the experience, I know how annoying and frustrating it can be, but this shouldn't stop you from blogging...
It's just to make you aware once again that nothing comes totally perfect
, Shit happens. Just let it go.Oh dear, i wasn't aware of this, this is making me seriously re-consider using steemit as a blogging platform! I am so glad i saw this.
I wouldn’t let this alone fully deter you, although I understand 100% why it would.
Despite it, there still are a number of reasons why to use it - the reward system being one, although perhaps the strongest being the community. There really are alot of great people to connect with here, and it is an excellent platform to grow relationships with readers that don’t really take place on other platforms.
I’d truly hope that now the issue is being brought to attention, the development team will sort it out such that in a year’s time, it’ll no longer be a concern. Though even if it weren’t handled, the benefits would still likely justify the flaw - and as per some of the other suggestion in the comments thread, there are ways of managing it: whether keeping a list of posts for your own reference, saving your writings offline, or also having a wordpress blog where they can be stored & accesses indefinitely while using the SteemPress plugin to syndicate them over here.
I know, all that is a bit of a pain in the ass and a discouraging deterent. Though nonetheless, having experienced everything I have on Steemit since the start, I’d advise that it’d probably be a far better strategic move to utilize this and another platform together, if having access to your entire history of writing it critically important.
(And then there’s also a different strategy altogether of letting certain works fade away with time, letting them serve their time and place in the moment, focused more in keeping the flow in the present than preserving the past, working for constant improvement for creating anew than holding onto what’s time has past - similar to the philosophy embodied in the Tibetan Buddhist practice of putting up to five years into the creation of sand mandalas, only to brush them all away when complete...
*Something of an aside, though well-worth the 3-minute watch:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WBrYUlOYK0U
I was thinking about this whilst driving this afternoon. The reason i chose steemit was because it's all in one place, i looked into wordpress and a few others, for which you need a hosting site etc, this just seemed simple. And yes the rewards system was far more appealing as it's pretty straight forward. I know nothing of blogging or how to make money writing them, that's not my ultimate goal but of course if i can potentially earn some money then i want to do that, who wouldn't?
The plan i have for my blogs is for it to be like a story, and a reference point for others. I am in the process of making some big changes in my life, and hopefully with time i will be in a much better position mentally, physically, spiritually, everything. I didn't want to start blogging at that point because personally i find it hard to connect with blogs and information, or personal reflections which come from a good place, or from the 'after' place, scantily remembering the 'before' place.
I hope, some of my blogs, and honest reflections can be something some people will be able to relate to, and spring board from, maybe even follow some tips, and so if i am a better version of my self a year from now, i want people to be able to go back through if they want to, and see where i was, what i did, how i made changes, so yes it is something important for me personally to have my blogs accessible.
But that aside, i did come to the conclusion that steemit is a great place to start out, familiarise my self with this platform, set up another one once im confident here. Although i am a bit overwhelmed it is the friendliest one i have come across, and already being slightly crypto literate it just made sense. With the added bonus of having great people offering support, you have left so many helpful comments for me today, i really am grateful.
Ah that video was so beautiful to watch! So much time and effort, but i love the process of sweeping it all away, it speaks volumes! My boyfriend and i had a talk about this last week, being the mr butterfingers that he is, he's damaged or broken several of my possessions which yes i really do like. Last week he smashed my favourite cup which was a gift from my God daughter. I could see he was really frustrated and upset about it, i said yes im gutted, but why are you so flustered? It's only a cup. He quizzed me as to why i never seem to get upset at him breaking things! My reply was they are just things, i enjoy using them, looking at them, and yea i think to my self awwwww no it's broken, but im not going to lose my shit about inanimate things!
Most of my girlfriends will throw out items their ex's bought them if they have a breakup, and don't understand why i dont. I try to explain that i really like it, i wont throw it out just because it was from him, you throw it out because you can't disconnect your emotions from the object, you're emotionally tied to it, it has no connection to him other than the one you've mentally conjured. It just all seems a bit silly!
Again i really appreciate you taking time to reply to lots of my posts today! Ill probably be chirping in on several of your other posts, your page seems like my cup of tea!
One additional perspective, from having been here since the start and done fairly “successful” here:
Even though the idea of having our writing history available for others to reach back into, should they feel inspired, sounds great - I’ve found that the reality here is practically no one does.
Maybe it’s part due to short attention spans, maybe part due to the tediousness of scrolling and scrolling further and further back, maybe because there’s something about the nature of this platform in particular that is always putting new content out to the front, that people generally don’t dig too far back, instead just keeping on top of what’s new.
And then, there’s also the point that as we continue to produce new content, it is being written in real-time, thus more relevant and up-to-date - which tends to match where others’ consciousness are at in the moment, our own writing a reflection of the times and tides of the collective.
As well, there’s also the simple point that as we continue writing more and more, the content gets better. having been through more learning cycles, we can bring more into every new piece, condensing the wealth of our past into fewer, more potent words, better-matched to the unfolding moment.
Combining all those points together, it kinda makes sense why people generally anticipate the new versus digging into the old.
And even though the concept of having others retrace our footsteps through years of writing holds merit, sometimes it might be far more powerful to continually offer an updated version of the story from the present moment, summarizing the most recent and relevant version in ways that have a greater impact in less time.
Perhaps these are some of the upsides to this little “flaw,” the gift in the curse, the silver lining in the clouds.
In any case, just some food for thought...
yeah i didn't really look at it that way, i suppose most people wouldn't bother looking at the whole story, everything is fast moving and in the now. Thanks for that, the blogs i produce now will connect with a certain cohort, and the blogs i write a year down the line will connect with a different cohort most likely if i do manage to progress my self i wont quite be the same, and so it makes sense that ill be attracting new people at that time. You're like the steemit philosopher :)
🙏💗
Your problem made me realize that I saved the writing file that I had posted well. Usually I just write directly in Steemit without saving it first on my laptop.
I plan to collect my best writings in Steemit to publish into a book.
When I read your post, I realized that I had to keep my writing file neatly every time after posting in steemit and I thought it could make it easier for me than I had to scrolling back and maybe I no longer found it. I will be frustrated if I can't find my old writing.
Luckily, I haven't been in Steemit for a few months.
About your problem, I apologize for not being able to give you a solution, @rok-sivante
Good call on backing up your writing!
I placed too much trust in this less-than-fully-developed system - or perhaps was just too shortsighted to think I might not want to retrieve my past work...
Not sure if it work, but when i faced with such situation and need to refer any older blog, i simply google it with few words from the posts i remember and i get 3 - 4 options and bang on....i get my results in simpler way. Scrolling on steemit is tedious work and it get hang more often. Hopy it works for you as wll.. @rok-sivante

Works if I’m looking for something specific and know the name. Not if I wanna scroll back through everything chronologically.
Thankfully, there was a link provided above to a tool that somewhat works to solve the problem, though it still doesn’t provide nowhere near as a pleasant experience as actually using Steemit.
Highly disappointing.
That is true ...if you wanna search something specific...but yes scrolling on steemit is waste of time...it stuck everytime......may be steemd.com/@yourname may help....

A curious observation, I see that you pay attention to such subtle details, the truth I do not suspect this problem although if I have heard from friends who have more time than me in @steemit about this detail, I hope they help and help clarify the situation a bit our great community. regards
I’d contend this isn’t exactly a “subtle detail,” but rather a major flaw that needs diligent attending to if this platform hopes to attract and retain a growing user base of professional writers.
That an author is unable to access the entire history of their content in no small issue. It’s a pretty fucking big deal.
"That an author is unable to access the entire history of their content in no small issue. It’s a pretty fucking big deal" . .
it's a wonderful way to say it haha you're absolutely right
I'm barely month old so I'm safe for now
What the fuq? Not cool.
Boy do I have the thing for you:
https://eonwarped.github.io/steem/allposts.html?account=rok-sivante
All 721 posts eventually will list here. You can also filter by tag.
I should mention, the reason is in a previous post I made: https://steemit.com/steem/@eonwarped/listing-of-your-entire-body-of-posts
Look at you so fast at shilling your tools when I was shilling your tools too :^)
Calm down... Sometimes the front end has issues loading older post when you scroll down but everything is there your first post right here use this tool created by @eonwarped to browse your older post :-D
https://eonwarped.github.io/steem/allposts.html?account=rok-sivante
This tool is useless.
If I was trying to find specific posts with specific tags, sure, it'd be helpful. But to see the entirety of my collection in chronological order... NOPE.
And: **I don't need to be told to "calm down."
With the amount of time and energy I've invested contributing to this platform - and the amount of funds kept invested - I have every right to be upset with such a completely unprofessional "glitch."
It's not in chronological order? Ah. I did notice this... it takes into account your last edit time. I need to tweak it a bit to use the created time to get the same ordering. I can definitely make that change, but wasn't sure if it was really needed.
ohhhh....
ok. wait...
the issue: this link doesn't work in Safari browser. all I was pulling up was this:
tried copying the same link into Chrome, and got the list.
Oh weird! Someone else I was talking to did seem to have the same problem when using iphone and mac. I'll have to investigate why that is happening for Safari..... maybe something about automatically scrubbing query parameters.. Or incompatibility with how I am accessing them actually hm...
As a quick update-- I believe I found out why it didn't work with Safari, and resolved that. Anyway, this was a quick hack that I still find pretty useful from time to time.
Cool. Glad to have helped in bringing it to light to get fixed. :-)
Sorry if you got my calm down wrong, i felt like you where freaking out because you thought all your old post where lost.... but they are there, if its of any relief to you, seems to be a bug platform wide because in both busy and steemit, it ends on your age of enlightenment post using eos, tauchain, etc...
Haha, no worries. Wasn’t freaking out, just rather taken back and reasonably angered by what’s a pretty major flaw for a two-year-old platform...
well I have 2 weeks in steemit so i'm safe (for now)
well, don't count on being able to access anything you've written so far more than 50 weeks into the future, unless this issue is address... :-(
I am just 8 months old here so I can't look into my blog...
One thing...
Have you tried using secondary platforms like busy.org???
And you are right this is real fucked up situation.
Try contacting @teamsteem... I have seen him linking his posts that are more than 1 year old...
according to someone else that commented above, same issue on busy.org
hmm... interesting find @rok-sivante
You can go to :
https://steemd.com/@rok-sivante?page=750
this is the very first day you joined... and you can scroll to see what posts you made... it's a bit tedious, but it's all there... and i was able to open your oldest post and see it on Steemit no problem.
Try https://eonwarped.github.io/steem/allposts.html?account=ankapolo . Hosted on my github pages site. Can filter by tag as well.
(Apologies if this is starting to look like I am spamming, but I really think people can make use of this tool)
How Ignorance & Laziness May Be Costing You 40% More On ALL Your Expenses (And How To Cash Out Steem Profits Tax-Free)... Just for shits and giggles this post was as far as I got it said last year you are a busy person . It took me about 3/4s of wheel of Fortune to get there keep on keeping on
@rok-sivante I use this brilliant tool written by @eroche to search for my old posts. It even lists 100 posts at each time so you don't end up with too many pages to search. I can easily access my very first post from over a year ago. Hope it helps
https://eroche.shinyapps.io/SteemAnalytics/
If it's really like that, this becomes a serious problem for unprofessional policies. I can't imagine how to lose some writing in the past. Because history means so much, if they have removed traces of our history, this seems very chaotic.
Can not be accepted ..
As a new step to get out of this problem maybe we can surf with SteemPress. The service can connect our blog on WorldPress to the Steemit platform. It will be automatically posted via the plugin provided. Thus our writing will remain in the grip on the world press blog and surf freely on the steemit platform.
Will you decide to receive SteemPress services or wait for the latest policy from the developer?
I feel like that ...
@ponpase From Indonesia | Thanks to : @rok-sivante
The posts themselves aren’t removed. They just can’t be accessed through the Steemit platform.
And even though - as linked above - there are other tools to access them, the UI experience on them is kinda shit in comparison, and most people who’d actually need them aren’t likely to know about them unless they go through tedious inquiry and research like this to find them.
This is not a situation that would make this site appealing to new writers and bloggers, should they encounter the same.
SteemPress is no solution unless someone else already has a separate Wordpress blog and chooses to use it all the time.
Maybe, why are you so sure that it's not the right solution? I think this will be easier. For the future, your writing will still be visible on wordpress blogs. So, there is no time machine that will get rid of your writing.
Then you can also surf from your WordPress blog posts to the Steemit blog. I think Steempress can be the right solution. Wordpress blogs can be made new, so just connect it. If this also cannot be a solution, then the choice is to wait for the development of Steemit.
I feel like that. This is not a suggestion that you use the SteemPress service, it's just possible that this can be a solution.
This is easier than saving a lot of writing in files on a computer.
SteemPress is useless without already having a Wordpress blog.
Easy, maybe you can immediately have a wordPress blog. Register and create your wordPress blog! I mean that from what I explained at length.
I'm not at all interested in setting up and managing a separate blog. Been there, done that, doesn't serve my needs at this point. I've already told you this in private.
Medium is the only platform I see any reason to utilize at this point.
My question is,
Then...
Can you connect your writing on a medium blog to the Steemit Platform directly at the same time?
I've encountered that, too. It sucks, and evidently "infinite" scrolling really isn't infinite.
The only workaround I've found is one a few here have suggested, but it's laborious as hell, which is to systematically use steemd to access each post from the start forward and store the titles and URLs in a bookmarks folder in your browser. I've set mine up for year by year to keep it manageable, size-wise... you have about as many top-level posts as I do, so I'd recommend that.
The whole process also made me really annoyed (once again!) that Steemit doesn't time stamp posts. I've chosen to add my own at the bottom of posts, for about a year...
Try https://eonwarped.github.io/steem/allposts.html?account=denmarkguy . Hosted on my github pages site. Can filter by tag as well.
(Apologies if this is starting to look like I am spamming, but I really think people can make use of this tool)
Is there the same problem on busy.org?
according to someone else who commented, yes.
Sorry to hear about the bug hope It gets solved.
@rok-sivante sir. you are right.
all comments are right on our own thinking..
Excellent publication I am new will we follow? In order to continue to appreciate your excellent work accounts with my vote I hope to have yours!

Flagging your ass for SPAM.
Tough but fair. I get those types of spammers in my comments all the time so seeing one get slapped down this hard brings me joy.
Laying down the flag hammer on such conduct is definitely one of my guilty pleasures here too... lol :-)
Ahahahhhahaahah he never knew you were not happy at that moment. The drama ends up with a well deserved flag. Hope you have gotten what you needed sir @rok-sivante?
Lolzzz... What a jurk... He earned your flag.... Hahaha
