I rarely pay much mind to WhaleShares lately but to claim rewards and vote maybe a couple posts for curation. It looks like even that is going away.
What I called it earlier is a gasoline soaked dumpster and hard fork 4 is the match ready to kindle it.
I also likened the changes to a double amputee when all could have been averted with a lil bit of incentivized flag ( the antibiotics if you will)
Created the following for the occasional and shared to WLS. I've tried reasoning with Jamie on multiple occasions and others but the impression I got was "Flag Man Bad". This was months ago and here we are today.
Presently, I would not advise investing in WhaleShares. The only reason Inhold my tokens is most were gifted to me. Perhaps, things will change but I am not holding my breath.
I put a lot my confidence in Steem as we have embraced the power of the downvote properly employed. Price hasn't quite got the memo just yet but maybe give it more time. 🕜
In her defense, trial by fire has worked before right?
My biggest contention is and always will be...
Oh, that's right.
Y'all nerfed them and THEN took em away!
While WhaleShares lathers the Crisco on the slide down to obscurity, Steem isn't faring much better.. but it has been holding BTC price more of less..
It's like they rotated their hip a bit on the slide so their cheeks grab hold. Will it give way or will they butt shimmy their way back up the slide.
Who knows?
But I don't see the same for WLS. A lot of development but, in my humble opinion, in the ass backwards wrong direction.
It took Ned stepping down before we starting seeing promising changes to Steem. Sometimes, a change of leadership is necessary.
I think the same is the case here but we can continue beating the dead horse to kill the time in the interim.
Giddy Up!
If you want more details on my criticisms, review my comments on WhaleShares. (I guess)
#implementmoderation #whaleflagrewards #allforkedupbeyondrecognition #butmuhsocializing #doyounotlike$$$?
Who fucking cares about this worthless shit chain?
Seriously. Why is this even a relevant post?
The post is critical of WhaleShares, a crypto that has attempted to compete w Steem but failing miserably.
I thought it was relevant for users that are considering or are returning to Steem. That's a good thing for us for me to be a voice of dissent on both platforms. Right?
Sorry you didn't see value in it. 😔
It also serves as a buyer's beware. Know what I mean?
i still use whaleshares from time to time
I never had a great feeling about WS, and gave up after being invited to a circle jerk.
The problem I see, is that people generally do not like to agree on things, and even in my attempt at trying to be a part of an abuse fighting team, what I felt was a clear cut definition of abuse, is evidently not. So, for the time being I am not using my downvotes at all. I like the idea of collective agreement, not chaotic confusion.
Overall I feel downvotes play a vital role in maintaining the utility and health of Steem, but it would be nice if people could just come to some common grounds on what clear cut abuse is.
Good insight. I welcome you to join us over at @steemflagrewards and be a part of providing feedback as we update our abuse definitions that we reward downvotes against.
I can't say there will be no chaos at all as I believe some degree is inevitable as people with different opinions and values come together. It's a matter of how we manage, cope and deal with the chaos that defines us.
We can mitigate it but we cannot eliminate it much like abuse on Steem. (Which is articulated in the WP)
In my opinion, steemit community must take some valuable decesion to tackle the upvoting of whales.
Now a days I find a lots of low value content in steemit, because they backed by voting of whales may be through upvot bot.
This is creating a negative impact on whole platform.
Since hardfork 21 at end of August 2019, various changes have been implemented to help combat these issues. Recently, the amount of people abusing the platform in ways you describe has been decreasing.
There is still a lot of work to do, but trends are promising.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks @abitcoinskeptic!
Thank you

I do what I can for the honor of the blockchain.
Once they removed downvotes
Nuff said...
I had engaged @freedomexists when they were still "Account Preservation Posts" (not sure why the "rebrand") and was offered what I felt was a lame excuse.
Something about dev incompetence so they are now looking out for their own interest. By spamming apparently. Dklef was another one that kind of turned to the dark side.
We are leagues above WhaleShares in terms of moderation. Their former program Whale-guardians was laughably inept not to mention soft.
This hf tackles exactly this issue.
How so? I saw it basically removed all rewards and you can only tip? I don't get what would encourage people to tip money in their wallet for content on a regular basis.
You get daily vest rewards that you can than transfer to your daily tip jar to tip other users, pretty much the same thing with a different name.
So basically instead of making posts, they just keep the inflation for themselves. I don't see how that would encourage people to do much of anything.
why would you post a shit "account preserverence post" if you dont get an additional reward for it unless someone tips you from their daily reward?? The only way to get additional rewards is by being tipped by someone who thinks your content is valueable. So less spam posts, more room for actual content creators waiting for my tips.
Why would anyone tip anyone?
As Anthony wrote, youre doing stuff ass backwards.
You devolved your platform. You didnt improve it or advance the tech.
You reverted it back to a POS system.
Tipping isnt a core feature of any system.
Tipping is something you can do with any crypto currency.
You just put your wallet under a post.
You detached content creation as a means of token distribution from the platform which will centralize the platform even more, which will keep content creators away and your userbase will dwindle.
Honestly, this change is extremely indicative of how clueless your dev team is.
Its actually pretty amazing.
They see abuse and spam and their answer is completely getting rid of the system essential to the platform.
Crazyness.

Why would you post "account preserverence post" with downvotes?
Seems a problem created by your the previous hard fork that didn't really exist in the first place.
I've never used it. Just couldn't see the point when I have plenty going on with Steem. The community is a vital part of that, but I heard earnings there were tiny. I've not got the time to play with everything.
Yes earnings are tiny for users only looking to earn. And they will be even more tiny after hf4.
I'm only making beer money on Steem, but it's social for me too. Mind you Haejin may decide to hit me again. Not going to cry about that. Downvotes can be used for good and evil :)
I believe steemit is doomed to be a "farming platform" where people come to farm STEEM. And that is very unfortunate, because it has alot of potential, we are trying our ways now and we believe this is the right way to go.
We shall see. There is a lot of good content that has real value. It is still too small to really judge where it is going. A lot of the 'farming' is being dealt with recently.
I agree alot of farming is being dealt with correctly! But its hard to see quality content amongst so much spam for votes. Thats why we are removing content rewards all together, and giving you what your account is able to make daily if you farm it, with just 1 click, no need to spam your nonsense and make things even worse.
Maybe youll answer me here, since you have given me 0 fundamentals behind you not liking the new hf except "i dont like it"
@anthonyadavisii
I'm trying to comment to the fellow above you but the GUI is killing me on mobile.
I made arguments against archival and the tipping system. I agree w @scipio in that such a system seems already present.
So, in that regard, seems we aren't necessarily adding anything per se... But taking it away.
On the GUI issue, it's odd when I try to paste it scrolls all the way down so the text box is no longer visible. I though my comment had a bit more substance than "I don't like it" so not sure which one you are looking at precisely.
Glad to talk about it though.
I should log in to Whaleshares again to see what's going on. It's been over a year. Maybe I whaled and didn't even know it.
You should probably log in after the hf where the spam is going to be cut down quite a bit, currently its in a very spammy spot where only users that farm wls are posting pretty much, obviously there are quite a bit of users that post quality but yeh know, hard to find the needle in the haystack.
