Welcome to The #fitnesscast – Day 2!
A daily #threadcast for fitness and physical health, where the goal is to motivate and inspire each other to get/stay active in our daily routines.
In this threadcast you can discuss and share anything relating physical health. Tell us about your training program, your goals and your progress. Learn from what others are doing, and share your own knowledge. Use the blockchain to hold yourself accountable and get rewarded for your efforts!
Example topics
- How many steps did you take today?
- Did you do any other activities?
- Did you excercise? If so how
- How did it go?
- Summary of your Actifit report
- How does exercise fit into your daily life, i.e. what works for you?
If you have any suggestions for how this threadcast should work, don't hesitate to share your thoughts below.
@melbourneswest stop by sometime! I've seen some of your workout vids, you're a pro! PS: Apologies for the unwarranted tag, just wanted to let you know about the initiative :)
Thank you for letting me know, hahaha I feel far from it. I was supposed to compete this year but have a few things on. I'll def check out this fitnesscast
Awesome! I don't know man, the fact that you're even aiming to compete, sounds pretty pro to me xD . Myself I'm currently trying to increase my strength instead of merely maintaining, but it feels like a slow process at times.
Anyways, you'll find the threadcast at the top of the threads feed every day (I will post today's in a few hours)
New vid up
That is really impressive. I rethreaded your video in today's fitnesscast for increased exposure
I'm almost afraid to ask but.. what did it take to reach this level? And how many times a week do you work out on average?
🍻 💪🏽😎👍🏽 🍻

I prefer mostly the Pranayama, the breathing daily routines, easy but very effective. Kapalbhatti and Anulom Vilom are main master pranayama. Bastrika I like to do for 2 minutes at fast pace.
Interesting, I have not tried this. Can you recommend me a guided video session I can try?
Yes I'll give you the whole series of daily pranayama, easiest and very effective. Start with minimum always, then increase it to 5 minutes (Kapalbhatti and Anulom Vilom) each. Even these two alone if practiced daily, super amazing and nothing else needed for a healthy life.

Great! I've bookmarked it, will check it out later
Another explanation.
It's nice to see the fitness thread cast, how about some yoga 🧘♂️ tips and videos
I'm all for it! Yoga is great
Ok great! I'll start with the kundalini yoga, one of most powerful and my all time favorite practices.

because of forecasted heat today I started early with a bike ride thru the cool forest in the valley. Made my 10k steps already
That's a great start! 10k steps is actually my daily goal. Do you go biking often?
I missed this #threadcast yesterday
Today is another day ☀️ 👌
@khantaimur here's a basic yoga session from my yoga teacher. I really like this one
Lovely, I'll watch the full sequence ASAP. I'd like to see which style he is doing.

I htink it's very beginner friendly. I've done this session a few hundred times at least
Quite an expertise, that shows it's an amazing daily practice.

If only I was able to do it daily. Do you do yoga daily, besides the 2 minute breathing session?
Yes, 2 minutes Bastrika, 5 minutes Kapalbhatti and 5 minutes Anulom Vilom, 15 minutes after I have my breakfast. If you could follow it for three days, you'll see its effects.

That's what I call self discipline. I will consider trying
With the success of yesterday's first ever fitnesscast, we're keeping the momentum going. Bring your fitness content, show us what you got!
I missed my morning push-ups this morning. I usually do 10 push-ups and 10 air squats right after I get up.
Reason being that I slept way too little tonight - stayed up late coding, and got up way too early because ofthe plumber coming. Not good- I'm supposed to do strength training today. Not sure if I'm up to it, but I think I will try

Yesterday was a restitution day. My current regiment is to train every other day – I mainly do strength training and running.
Do you use a fitness tracker? If so, what kind? My personal experience is with Garmin, a brand I'm very happy with
Yesterday I walked 9250 steps. My daily goal is apparently 9350. Almost nailed it
Good morning, @caleb-marvel! Bring your energy and training tips
@actifit has shown interest in the fitnesscast too. I'm excited to hear their thoughts! I always thought #actifit is an awesome project

I apparently walk more steps on average than 71% of people. Do you have a daily goal for steps?
