Market Friday back on the House Hunt

here so we can compare the two.Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on steemit. I have been pleasured by all of you, as you send in the most wonderful posts. Going places, doing things, buying merchandise. I have been surprised by many, not being familiar with the culture and I must say that it has been such an educational experience for me in so many ways and I hope for you also. This week, we are going to be continuing our house hunting and this will be the second house I show you. If you missed the first one, you can see it

Are you ready to shop again? Let's go!

image.png

This is the second house that I am looking at. Where the other house was impressive from the outside, this one is more casual in its architecture, as it is along the beachside of Virginia and its appearance is not as statuesque, which will deter those high winds from making any hurricane damage. The colors are lighter, reflecting the beach feel. I chose this house for many reasons. The first was that it had three separate living spaces, should I need to care for an elderly parent or relative or as my kids grow, their own space can be had if they should become adults and still live at home. I shall let college take them for at least four years first. When you first see the house, it is very low key and I cannot help feeling like this is a far cry from the other house. There is one stair to get into the house, and rails for extra support, should it be needed. So far, so good. Is it okay if I am not wowed by this house? It shows much promise with space and they are both about 8,000 square feet, so they are pretty equal, just differently divided. I remain optimistic. There is a lot to see in this house and it is spread out. We will look, then pass judgment. Follow me!

20190608_130246 (1)2.jpg

This is what I see from the foyer or the entryway inside the front door. The floors are wood and look to be oak and have a nice shine on them. The entry is pretty low key and hardly existent. What do you think?

Please leave the link to your post on here so it can easily be found by others. It helps you and me to have them in one place. Where else can you take such a quick trip around the globe? Thank you so much for joining me!! ❤

Let me introduce you to the kitchen! It is very deceiving. It looks small, but, is quite large and everything needed is at your fingertips. I will admit that I love the durability and low maintenance of the granite countertops. I am partial to any type of stone. I have become accustomed to countertops that do not get ruined when you put a pot on top of them. Admittedly, whoever discovered that is brilliant.

20190608_125615.jpg

Commercial refrigerator, commercial stove and oven, another wall oven and warmer, microwave, wine cooler. On the other side is a double dishwasher, the exact one I have. I love the convenience of two. You could see in the previous pictures that there is a large table, but no dining room. There are a small butlers pantry and a large walk-in pantry that also has room in there for all your small appliances.

image.png

I know! Too many of the kitchen, but, I wanted to show you that there is a small section of island seating with three seats.

image.png

Oh, the sunshine makes my day so much brighter — in the rain, the rain went away. So, to be perfectly correct, I believe I will make some sun and shine later today. Happy to follow shortly behind. — at all in a day of life.

A beautiful day. The beauty of its individuality, its innocence of being, and the aesthetic value - all have a direct impact on how the day unfolds.

Last week I said that there are two places in your house that you are almost guaranteed to get your money back if you upgrade them. One is the kitchen and the other is the bathroom. Here is the shower. The bathroom also has a jetted tub and a sauna, right in the bathroom. Look at all the jets on this one!!! Hello, baby!!! I am pretty sure I have never been in a shower with that many jets spraying at me. What is it with these builders, making huge bathrooms like this?? I am a small person and take up little room. What I didn't forget was that I am pretty sure I could have a party in there if I was so inclined. I am not. Even if I like saving water.

20190608_122102.jpg

Here is the sauna.. These people like parties in their bathrooms. At least a half a dozen people will fit in here. Seriously.

image.png

You definitely will love the pool which is almost built-in with the house surrounding it and the walls, which did double duty as a retaining wall. This helped seal out the world, making this a very private dip in the pool. It was deep enough to dive also swim laps in.

image.png

This space is the pool house and is probably about 1800 square feet of living space with one bedroom upstairs and two full baths plus sauna. The kitchen has simple barstools and a small table could easily fit, although it does not have one now.

image.png

In my mind, I would probably want to take out that blue linoleum and put real tile down instead. The upstairs bedroom has wood.

https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmSENveTt7LfD1Z9gkaHtZtLXYCniiVqpMuRFTeLBssnFj

This could potentially be a problem. This is a big piece of property and there are many stairs, I don't mind doing it now, but what about 20 years from now? And what if I have to care from an elderly relative? No Bueno.

image.png

This is another separate little house. So there are three private spaces shared under one address. It is a very unconventional type of living, but, one that would work well for me.

image.png

image.png

Every door has an outside sitting space, so all three houses are interconnected with porches and decking.

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post, again and again, I am encouraged by you, for the time you take to visit, comment or even upvote. For all of these reasons, I am eternally grateful. Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Let's hold hands around the globe and make this earth really spin. Some days, it is not as easy to see, how wonderful it really is. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

A day late and always a buck or three shy, what can I say? I blame my computer doing a late night update as the reason, well in addition to constant interruptions that derailed the train of thought. Oh yeas I am sure you never have to deal with such things, but some people just bug away. Le sigh! LOL!!! :D

🎁 Hi @old-guy-photos! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

Hello my Dear Denise! First of all, I am totally speechless, because I had no idea you were buying a new house. There for. I went back and found the previous post to see the 1st house too!

Well, I must say you did a fabulous choice! I really love this house, it seems like the kind of place where you feel light and refreshed! I love the idea of so many patios surrounded by nature so you can choose whether you feel like shade or sun, depending on the time of day. Now I really have to come for visit, lol. Anyway, congratulations, I am very happy for you and all those who you are going to share your generosity with. Living there with you will be like in heaven. Sending lots of love 🌸💖🌸

Lena! Thank you so much for taking the time to come and check out #MarketFriday! Oh, it has been fun, hunting and gathering information on my choices. I still have lots to go through and I won't be posting another one on MarketFriday, I don't want to chase off everyone! LOL

It was really fascinating the way they built this one with all the stairs and interconnecting patios! I will still be looking and keeping these two available!

You are so sweet for visiting and yes! Everyone is threatening to visit! LOL Have the best weekend ever!

#MarketFriday loves you!

!tip

Oh, but I thought you already decided on this one! Well, if not, I would love to see the one you do pick eventually.

Anyway, keep me posted Darling! I love real-estate. I must of mentioned that I am actulay an Interior Designer and I do staging. Well not much, whenever they need me, which is very rarely. I don't advertise. Officially I am on disability pension now.

Good luck and lots of hugs. Have a fabulous week 😍

🎁 Hi @lenasveganliving! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

This is certainly a lovely home! Perhaps not as showy as the last one, but it has its own charm. It has an open design as does mine. At the time that was "in" as well as would have been practical as I could watch and care for my mom easier that way. Now having lived here a decade, I am not so sure I would want that again. It did work for home schooling as I could be in the kitchen slaving away and still see the kiddos. The 3 separate living quarters in very interesting. Might be useful for entertaining...or renting out to an old guy that may soon need a roof lol.

The stairs are a concern, however the last place must have some as well, no? What struck me most is you didnt seem to have a single negative to say about the last place. Well enjoy the hunt, if nothing else it makes for great blogging :)

I agree with you that it is a very lovely home and shall we just say that things are not as grandiose as the last one but it's true it does have its own charm. As you probably already know the house that I am in now also has an open plan and I had to pick up this way purposely, however, I'm not sure that I would do that again either. Except in the kitchen/den area. I really like the open concept that they are because whoever is in the house will usually migrate towards the kitchen without actually being in it to keep company when I'm cooking. That part I like. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned but I do like separate rooms like an office or living room space. Right now my living room opens up into the dining area and I no longer like that concept. I want totally separate areas. That is another reason that I don't like to really tiny house because then the rooms are too small to fit Furniture in. My furniture is pretty substantial and takes up a little bit of room. So as much as everybody is telling me that I'm not getting any younger and I should be looking towards a smaller home unless I want to get rid of half of my furniture I can't. And I actually like a little bit more room so that if I have company I don't have to worry about where I'm going to put them. Except for that shower thing. What is up with that? I like a shower that's roomy and I could dance in but I don't need to you have a dance troupe with me. Do you know what I mean?

The three separate living quarters is actually very interesting and it could be useful for entertaining or if I got old and broke oh, I could use it for an Airbnb. I shudder at the thought, but it's possible. The stairs are only a concern because I broke my distal fibula a while back and I can remember having trouble navigating the stairs. Now it's not like I'm a week or don't walk or exercise but it happened and it could happen again so this house has major staircases. There is a set of major staircases to get from one piece of property to the other. That right there is a turn-off. Not so much now but I have to remember that if I still own this in 20 years, am I going to be so willing to you dance 10 sets of stairs every time I want something? I didn't really have too much negative to say about the last place because I wasn't quite in the mode of comparing yet, but having seen several pieces of property, I can do that now. One of the things that I liked but didn't like was the fact that that house was amazing but it was off the beaten path and would not be exactly convenient to get to the city. It would probably take me an hour tell me which is a little far. That and it is not a neighborhood, which is okay but I'm trying to come to grips with the fact that but I mind not having all of this stuff around me as I set off on my walks every day? Things to ponder and you are right I am enjoying the hunt right now. Thank you for stopping in and saying hello and it's always I wish you a most wonderful day.

!tip

An hour from a major town, not just any town. That sounds like here. I can get to gas or groceries in 10 minutes, but Walmart, Home Depot etc is nearly an hour. Same for a university, so I am looking around to get a shack closer for a temporary landing spot.

I beg to differ though, we are getting younger. Age is a big part mental. We keep each other sharp with our banter.

Pfft u can walk around the property and never have to leave it lol!

Noooo, it is not that far, but, it is further out than I am now. And there is no JULIE down there!

Oh, the horror!!!

Le Sigh.

Pfft you don't need her. Listen here, I can do as good if not better. And, this is best part, half off what she charges! You can't beat that :)

You just upvoted yourself! LOL I'm telling Julie. It is a lifetime away from Smith Lake. I think I am safe.

I can teach Julie a thing or two. If I don't upvote myself, no one else will lol. Oh no you forgot about Part B of Old Guy V. 2!! The salt life part :p... Plus you know I do a nice job. You seen me do mine hehehe. I think you were even a little bit jelly.

I love your outfits!!

Thank you. It's the native outfit of an ethnic group in the north of our country called Igorot. 😊

So very awesome, ging!! I look forward to this post!

Sorry Denise, my post might disappoint you. 😢

Oh, my!! I have never been disappointed by a post yet! I am pretty sure I am not going to start now.

🎁 Hi @gingbabida! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

I can tell already that I'm going to love this post! I was wondering what ethnic group they belong to, and I'm hoping that you have a little bit of the history on that but knowing you oh, I am sure there is 100% coverage. Thank you so much for dropping your link here on my post and I'm sorry that it took me forever to post this morning. Things were going slow and then I couldn't find some pictures and well you know the story. I was totally unorganised last night and it showed. So thank you again and I will be making my way over to your place so that I can read it in a little while. As always I wish you a most wonderful day!

Oh no! Sorry I didn't delve into the Igorot's ethnic background. I have it in mind, but because I wasn't feeling well, I completely forgot all about it and pushed through my post. Sorry. 😭

Igorot are various ethnic groups that live in the mountains of northern Luzon. The term "Igorot" means "mountaineer" in Tagalog (our national language). They have a distinct way of life--they have a unique looking thatch roof houses (and even dresses), and they have kept their traditional religion on their own.

Sorry for this missing information. I guess I have to edit my post so that others can also read about Igorot. Hehehe.

Thank you so much, Denise, for bringing this up.

I would copy and paste this! This is awesome information. My post was so late last night because I was exhausted. I might as well have been sick. LOLO

But, we both lived to tell. :)

Thank you for being so kind and wonderful!!! I hope you feel better and that you have a great weekend!

I still feel a bit dizzy today, but not as bad as yesterday. I think I'll already be fine tomorrow with a little extra of rest today.

You should rest a little more too, Denise. Take care. 😊

That is good to hear. We have to take care of ourselves, it is true!! I do get my rest because if I don't feel well, who will take care of everyone else?

Exactly!!!

Happy weekend!

Oh yes, exactly. Specially that our children are depending on us. 😊

Isn't that the truth!!!

🎁 Hi @gingbabida! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

Yes, in such a house, darling Denise, can get lost!
But the pool is great! I loved it!

I like swimming in the morning :-)
And this is my new post

I like the old horse in your photos!!

It is made in decoupage technique )
Thank you for your attention !

It seems funny, but this house is just about the same square footage as the other one, so they are similar in size although this one has a main house and two little cottages. So, that breaks it up a little bit but still the space it has the same.

I'm pretty sure you can't get lost because it's not that big and I agree with you I like the pool area and swimming in the morning is a perfect way to start your day. Did I mention that the pool is saltwater? I actually prefer the saltwater and it's much less maintenance. Well, I can see that you brought me furniture which is always exciting in my book! So I'll be here for a little while so save a seat for me!

As always, I wish you a most wonderful day! Thank you so much for all that you do to make steemit a success.

🎁 Hi @rynow! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

It is a lovely home Denise, but I would have to agree with you on the stairs later on down the road. They could become a challenge you don't need. I doubt you will want to move again, just saying. ;-) Keep looking lady and you will find the perfect one to suit all your needs.

https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@sunscape/marketfriday-fresh-produce-and-baked-goods-by-sunscape

The food looks great, it made me hungry!!

It really is a lovely home but those stairs have put me off because I do have some relatives that have lingering knee problems that don't look like they're going away anytime soon. Now these relatives are elderly, but we'll get there someday and if I'm looking for a long-term possibly permanent home then I need to think about the Future. Not that long ago, I broke my distal fibula and was off my feet for 3 months. I can tell you that had a lot of trouble navigating stairs and that alone told me that I needed to keep stairs in mind because that is one of the biggest problems later in life or if you have an injury no. Now, I consider myself pretty fit and I still have trouble navigating the stairs come so I can imagine when I become old and infirm how those stairs will do me in. LOL I can also say that my mom and dad even at 70 and 80 we're sprinting up those stairs like a teenager so I guess it's all in what you're used to.

And truth be told, I will not be settling and if it's not perfect there is nothing pushing me out of this house right now so yes I will keep looking. Thanks so much for stopping by and as always you're positive attitude and your beautiful heart always make you a a coveted guest here. Thank you so much for dropping your link and as always I wish you a good night!

I am happy to hear you are taking your sweet time to decide about moving. I have had two surgeries this year and my stairs have been difficult for me too. I have to be very careful going up and down them. Hopefully, I can stay here for a long time yet. I would hate to leave my gardens and all the creatures that I feed daily. xoxoxo

Oh, yes!!! Your place is like heaven!!!

Being transferred every couple of years hasn't given me and the time to create such beautiful spaces as you have! when I broke my bone, it occurred to me that if I was an older person, it would be miserable!!

I am sure in time, you will navigate it like it never happened. I forgot I even did it because it is all back to normal.

Time heals. XOXO

🎁 Hi @sunscape! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

Quite a difference from the last one but still very nice, the bathrooms and showers in these places are huge, I am a get in and out of the shower kind of guy not throw a party in the shower person, It may look not so plush from the outside compared to last weeks but inside is very nice and that pool area is so cool

I am not a big fan of linoleum, but I do like the color of that lion in the pool house

I am also looking online at houses at the moment getting ideas, but Looking for smaller and without stairs maybe, will be fun or a nightmare doing real house hunting when we move.
Here is my Post for this week https://steemit.com/esteem/@tattoodjay/market-friday-a-market-for-fun-cfc6397cfbb13

PS the brainteaser or brain challenge thing I had no prolem reading I remember dong somehtign similar when I was a guinea pig for some psych students many years ago when the army volunteered me as one of the group they would do there tests and interviews on, I remember then they were surprised i read it as if they words were all written in the same color apparently thats not the norm but then again I have never been the norm LOL

Thanks for hosting Market Friday !tip I love seeing the markets from all around the world

I love the sweet stand!!

thanks it was pretty cool for sure ;)

There is quite a difference from the last one but they're in two different locations with very different landscape so I would say that they both fit into their landscape nicely but yes oh, I agree. I am amazed at how big these showers are, the only time I can remember them being that big is in the school gyms and they weren't for the females for sure. And here I took you for a party in the shower kind of guy. See, looks just don't always tell the whole story do they?

The linoleum was in the pool house and it was only in one little section so I probably should not have even mentioned it ever it was one of the things that I was considering because it was going to be another expense replacing it.

I would have to say that looking online gives you ideas however I have never been so blown away in my entire life at the difference in what I'm looking at and what is said to be because it's right in front of your eyes. I have never seen more wide-angle lenses being used in places that have no business being. I can understand needing to get the whole space in the picture but too exaggerated to the point where you think you're getting a 40 foot room and it turns out to be 9 feet oh, well now who is fooling who? Oh well you know we have both been house hunting at least 25 or 30 different times and it never gets old, does it? If there's one thing that New England it's feast or famine. In Connecticut it seems like there's way more to story houses but as the 50s and 60s rolled around there was a lot of one-story Cape cod's or ranches being put up. If I didn't have such a big family I could probably go a lot smaller but it's better to have enough room for them as I don't live there anybody then to have to delegate them to a hotel because there's not even space for them to sleep on the floor. As for me personally, I could probably live in 300 square feet just fine.

I figured that the brain teaser would not be a problem for you and from now on I think I'm just going to make you a special one. All for yourself. Except I'm not so sure I could find one that you would have trouble with. Not that you were teacher's pet too weren't you? I am sure that you did surprise the interviewers because it is so normal for people to read the color as opposed to looking at it and deciphering that it is not what you were reading. Thank you so much for dropping your link here and 4 being kind enough to visit other people's posts in this challenge. As always I want to thank you for being such a kind and generous soul and I wish you a wonderful weekend.

I enjoy visiting peoples posts for market Friday its so cool seeign the variety of markets from around the world I do love this challenge
And heck no I was never a teachers pet for sure I was tolerated by some because id well in the tests and helped raise their average pass rate LOL, a couple of teachers realized if they just gave me enough books to read on my own pace then I would be busy and not joking around or causing trouble LOL

Some of the brain teasers do catch me so no need for a special one for me :)
I am noticing where I am looking there are not to many ranch places so we will probably end up going for something with stairs, but you never know all depends on what is on the market when we are looking, and I don't have to worry about family, as we will be living in the same city with the family we have here so we can go smaller, but not too small, our grandkids have insisted we have at least one spare room so they can sleep over sometimes

Have a great weekend ;)

Well, I know that we have talked about this before but if you get up there and there is nothing it strikes your fancy, I would rent for six months to a year. Nobody's kicking you out so you have time. No yes! I thought New England only had two stories when I lived there but found some little cape cod's when I was old enough to drive around myself. Thank you for taking the time and the energy to visit around and I do love perusing everybody's posts like that. I'm excited that you will eventually be starting a new chapter in your life and I do realize that you'll be close to family and won't have the same issues that I do come however, however I am fortunate enough to be in the position where everyone comes to visit so I am happy about that.

Last words for me! Don't get something just because there's nothing you like on the market. You can wait. You've waited your entire life to get here and you might as well go out in a full regalia. No compromises. Well maybe a few but ... Have yourself a most wonderful weekend!

Its great that you have family that visit :) and of course that makes a big factor in what your looking for :)

yes that is a plus that when we start looking I do not need to rush, we have the place we are in now so can look and wait till we find something that will work for us, that is a big bonus for sure not to have any pressure, I know the chances of finding one that ticks of everything on our wish list is unlikely, but will take the time to try and find one that covers most of them :)

Not true!!! You may find something that is more incredible than you wished for. Although, I will say that I will NEVER buy a house in the winter as there can always be hidden things that don't show up until spring.

My own personal rule of thumb my daddy taught me. Buy on an incline or hill.During flooding (and our town in Connecticut was almost washed away by the flood of '55 as my dad called it! LOL) and the spring melt, your basement will thank you.

It is funny the things I have instant recall when it comes to all the things my dad says about houses and buying.Well, half the fun is looking.

Have a great day!

Ohh yes on an incline is a good point for sure, we are lucky where we are now even though we are well clear of any flood zones,

and yes Looking is fun for sure I am looking forward to that as well, and yes you may be right we may get lucky

🎁 Hi @felt.buzz! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

Great photos Denise! They are both very different and both very nice!! You are gonna have a hard decision and how many houses do you have it narrowed down to so far? I love different aspects of both places. Taking stairs and different spaces into consideration are important especially thinking down the road. I love both kitchens but I agree with you on the showers..lol. The first property def had a "wow" factor compared to this one but this one is pretty nice too. I'm excited to see more and learn which one you choose in the end! 😊

Thank you so much!! It is always so nice to hear from you and see how your decision weighs in!I love both places, one of the reasons it makes it so hard! The first one had more wow and not so many stairs all over the place. Okay for now, but in 20 years? I may be over it!!!

Thank you for stopping in and always leaving worthy messages!

#MarketFriday loves you!

You are welcome Denise and thank you as well! Yep, the steps would be my biggest issue but it is pretty darn nice!! The second one is pretty darn nice too though so I know you have a lot to take into consideration and seems like a hard choice indeed! 🤔

🎁 Hi @deerjay! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

Hi Denise,

It's not of my business of course, but I noticed that a lot of people I'm following aren't aware of the coins they have...
Here is a copy of the message I send to deerjay :

Hi dear,

I hope you don't mind, but I just checked your profile on steem-engine and I think you are not aware of all the coins you have overthere...and doing nothing with it. See for yourself : https://steem-engine.com/?p=balances&a=deerjay

As you also use the creativecoin tag, you should stake the creative coins you got... that way your vote will be worth steem AND creativecoins... and that's also the way of working for most of the other coins you have. Or you can also sell them for steem...

Just my 2 cents, do what you want with it... if things are not clear just leave me a message and I help you... but it breaks my heart to see all those lost coins 😥😉😘

And it appears you have the same problem...
I think it's worth taking a look at https://steem-engine.com/?p=balances&a=dswigle

cheers!

Thank you, my friend! I was having issues with it and will have to have address the issue sooner, rather than later. I was only able to stake the PalNet from the drop. But, thank you! I appreciate you looking out for me!!

Cheers!

🎁 Hi @pixelfan! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

Another gorgeous property! I have to say, as much as I was blown away by the house last week, this one seems so much homier! You do make an excellent point about the stairs, but having so many separate living spaces available would be the icing on the cake for me - hubby & I have talked many times about having a huge property with at least 3 separate houses on it, so our kids could always have a place to hang if they needed. Just need Steem to hit the moon, and we'll be all set for our Kennedy compound... 😉 😂

Oh, and I've done other versions of that Stroop Test before, and each time I take it, I say more swear words than colors... 😊

Hope you have an amazing Friday, and even more awesomesauce weekend! !tip steem

I am still in love the first one and the second one is homey, but, has no real storage! Yikes!!! 3 properties and no storage??

That slew me. I saw it on the second trip there. So, of course, I will do a comparison sometime this week, If I do another for Market Friday, they 'll probably kill me. Or at least boycott me!

Oh, if steem would only hit the moon!! Wouldn't life be grand!

🎁 Hi @georgeboya! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

This house is huge. On the scale of European values. I have always been impressed by these huge houses that I have seen in movies or magazines. It is beautiful and with everything you should, maybe even too much. I still do not understand if you play with us or even intend to move into such a house. The blog is a good quality magazine. Magazines in which I saw houses where I can never imagine that I could ever live. I wish wholeheartedly to choose the best.

The Fair In The Shadow Of The PalaceMy little contribution to #marketfriday:

It is big, even by typical American standards. I have always loved them a little bit on the large size, but, perhaps because of the size of my family? It has many things that I don't need, but, like them, if they are part of the house.

I am not playing with anyone, because of work, it is normal to move every year or two. It has been like this always. Well, since I have grown up anyway. The house I own now is almost as large, but. laid out differently. The grounds are smaller but the pool is about the same.

I am in no rush to buy but, it is always good to keep the option open and the only way to do that it to look at what appeals to you. I know something will appear in the path. I cannot go smaller unless I move to Europe or the Carribean, which is not an option at this moment.

Thank you for dropping the link here! It is most appreciated! Have a most wonderful weekend!

Thanks for the clarifications. Now I understand. It was the comment of a man who is not used to this lifestyle and who has only changed one house in forty years.
I wish you a nice weekend!

Well, not so much a lifestyle as job transfers. But, it has been very good to me.

A nice weekend to you!

It was a nice weekend! I'm late for several reasons, sorry. I understand that is because of work but to me it seems to move is infernal.

There is nothing to be sorry about! Every.

I am not quite sure what you mean. Sorry. (No really!) I don't want to take your words wrong and it says nothing bad, I just didn't understand what it says.

I thank you anyway for stopping by!

!tip

I do not understand many times what the writer wants to convey ... so I'm glad you suffered the same way.😊
I wanted to say that in the culture and the possibilities of our Romanian society we are not used to the idea of changing the house at least once in life. That's why the idea of moving from one place to another scares us most.

You're welcome. And again, thanks so much for the tip.

And, we had to sell our dream home, which we built, because I was having trouble getting up and down the stairs. I hadn't been to the third floor in over a year when we finally moved.

I'm sorry to hear that. There have been three houses built and I was hoping for the last one to be built. We will see how that works out.

I hope things work out for you. Are you permanently disabled?

Yes, I'm permanently disabled. We built a large house in the hopes of adopting a sibling for our son, and having another child which never happened. The house we're in now is much smaller than the last one, but that's okay. It's all on one story and smaller is easier to keep up with. I still have a great kitchen with a gas range.

Oh thank you! This looks absolutely fabulous and I love the colors in that crochet piece. I can only imagine how many hours the intricate work took and there it sits on the Shelf looking all beautiful. Thank you so much for dropping off your link and I wish you a most wonderful weekend

🎁 Hi @trudeehunter! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

Thank you @tipu 💖

Love the serene feel of this house @dswigle :) Having three separate casitas would be nice for your kids and their families when they visit as well as caring for an elderly parent. The stairs though... is there a spot you could install a small lift elevator? Those are fabulous for that purpose, just a thought. I love the kitchen, great countertops and of course two dishwashers????? Yes! Definitely more of a beachy feel, hmmmm tough choices. Love this, I feel like I'm house shopping all over again, lol

Thank you so much for your words @birdinparadise! I agree about the three separate houses, but the stairs? While I don't mind them one bit, if someone broke their leg or got bad knees or whatever, life, you know? Ten to twenty sets of stairs a day would be detrimental to their health.

I am not a huge fan of the lifts, but that is mostly because of the way the house is set up and you would be moving the lift four or five times to get anywhere.

I have two dishwashers here and I love it. They are smaller than regular but stacked on top of each other. They are especially nice for large families and very small ones. Then numbers vary in the house on occasion not enough people home to make a load, but with the smaller ones, you can have clean dishes asap. Plus if you have a party, you can do one set and then keep filling up a second one. I have been using gone for over 10years and I love it!

The Bosch company made mine. They are a German-based company.

Definitely a beachy feel. Awww I hope you had fun! It was fun doing this!

I can see where the stairs would be worriesome. Especially with grandchildren ;) That is definitely a long run! It would have been wonderful to have a second dishwasher when the kids were here. When they visit we run the dishwasher every day and it's a large one! Love the Bosch appliances, so reliable. Well, keep up the house hunt, I love seeing what you find. Have a sweet weekend my friend!

And older relatives!!! I worry about them even more because their life changes dramatically with a break!!

Oh, yes! I love the double dishwashers!

There are also many possitive aspects of this house. I also love the idea that there are three houses interconnected. People living in each houses will still have their privacy intact, yet still part of the big house. I love that. I also like the lighting of the house because it's all glass, so everything is naturally well lighted. It makes it look fresh and full of life. And the surroundings are also green. Very close to nature.

Well, thank you for taking us again, Denise. I feel that I am house hopping. Hahaha! Cool. 😎

🎁 Hi @petrarodriguez! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

Both are appealing, perhaps you need that good old list of pro's and cons....

  • Close to the sea, how high does humidity get during summer months, this creates residue on and in everything, appliances may rust a lot quicker shortening the life span. Window cleaners will be needed more regularly.

  • Steps, how many do you want to climb when you hit the next 10 years.

Personal comfort, finding the right place to suit the whole family, call for a vote, each family member comes along with their lists with why's and why not, say top 5 for and 5 against (enjoy the debate).

A forever home takes some thinking, if buying to sell later then whichever you prefer; beach or forested area, both are superb homes.

Oh, you have set me up with a great set of pros and cons. :)

I lived on the ocean most of my life, so yes, those are considerations and the stairs- I thought about the in 20-25 years, especially if I keep this house!

I have had over 20 homes due to being transferred all over the globe :) I call every single one of these my permanent home. :)

I want to thank you so much for weighing in and as always, your comments mean a lot! I wish you a most wonderful day!

You are finding some beautiful big homes, Denise. I wouldn’t want to spend a Saturday trying to clean them but I’m sure you are well organized and have help from your family.
The kitchen is awesome but I didn’t feel this was the house for you. I would like to see some stone on the outside of the house. The stairs are a concern and the awesome pool can be enjoyable but a lot of work.
For a forever home it is good you are wondering if you can still maintain it when you get older. 😊 💕 🌸

You have to wonder because old age doesn't escape any of us. :)

Oh, house hunting is fun and I actually have a big home now, but, do not find I spend too much time cleaning as I do one thing a day - vacuum, dust whatever and so there is not big cleaning day.

A little stone is always gorgeous!!

🎁 Hi @redheadpei! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

The house looks nice, even though I don't like everything about it. Being European, i have other expectations but the interior is nice (except for the linoleum). Who is using linoleum these days?
Anyway, there's my entry for this week Street market in Bratislava

Thank you so much, Erika! @erikah

I am glad you like some of the houses, there were parts that I didn't like about it also, but that is one of the reasons I spend so much time looking at them. I was curious about what expectation you are talking about, being European. Of course, I lived in Europe for quite a while and I know that is not that same as being European, but, I was just curious. :)

The linoleum was a small area and no problem to replace. The house isn't new so, there are always different tastes!

Thank you so much for stopping in and saying hello and dropping your link! So much appreciated!

What I could never be ok with is the walls. In Europe walls are made of bricks or concrete elements and very rarely of wood or those panels used in the US or other parts of the world. I know temperature plays a big role in this but I feel safer if I know my house is made of something solid.
I saw a show once, it was about these house builders who are building a house in a few days. There was a couple who needed them to rebuild their bedroom because a drunk driver drove his car into the house while they were sleeping. They both ended up in hospital, the woman had leg surgery and both needed medical care. To my surprise, the bedroom wall was built up the same way, with the same material, panels made of gypsum or something. Tell me honestly, how could they sleep in the same house when they knew it could happen again anytime as no one can guarantee your safety, that's your responsibility. Here if a drunk driver drives into a house, the car gets totally damaged and maybe the wall cracks but that's all. In the case I'm mentioning, the car ended up in the bed, over the two of them.
Maybe this is just a minor thing for people over there as they grew up in houses like that and are used to it but it's a big deal to me :) Here what is made of wood is made of real wood, thick beam or grinder, I don't know what's the proper word for it. Those are usually cabins in mountain areas.
Otherwise I'm ok with the house, this one is nice, especially the bathroom and I'm sure the linoleum is just an "accident" :D
I hope you understand what I mean.

I cannot say that I disagree with you for the most part. A lot of homes are primarily built from wood or brick materials and unless it's custom built the subdivisions with that cookie cutter look to accommodate the American dream, of owning your own home. While I disagree with this sentiment, not everybody is fortunate enough to have enough money to put down to purchase a home. It seems that where years ago renting was the normal way to go, everyone wants to realize their dream of homeownership and one of the ways to do this is to make it cheaper and easier to buy a home. In Europe, I would say that renting is more normal than it but I could be off on that also. I can remember having to put 30 to 50% down on a house over there, and this was expensive because the property was high and the building cost was expensive.

I will say that my parents house was built using a sand limestone brick Masonry or perhaps people know better as concrete.

Rebar is used and spaces fill to form the foundation of walls and ceilings. The outside layer had stucco on it and then was painted. On the inside of the blocks yeah, something like Styrofoam but I'm not exactly sure what it was was used for insulation and the roofs were slate shingles. All these things were done for long-term usability and durability. That is the way I grew up and if you have your own house built, this is the way you can have it done. If you buy into a subdivision or housing area where they built the houses mostly the same way and quickly, you are going to buy into the drywall / gypsum board type of construction. I have another home over on the Oceanside and it is an 1869 Victorian home made exactly this way also. With the use of rolladens, they are cooler in the summer and by default with the insulation warmer in the winter. I know that my neighbors think I'm crazy because I have my windows open everyday. A necessary thing for me to air it all out.

How many houses are exactly as you say I would say that if you choose, you can have it built anyway you want and I agree that this is the way I like them built. The disadvantage for me is having to move around because of the job, making it a little bit harder to choose which kind of house I will end up in. But there is some control and someday I won't have to worry about working and can choose to have my house built once again oh, just the way I like it. My feelings are never hurt by the truth, but at the very least, if you choose to build in a different way, you can. As for the linoleum, I gotta Laugh out of that because I haven't seen linoleum in so many years and even though that house was okay, as you can see it would not be in my idea of anything that I would live in. But it was fun to go and see. I would have to say that you're not wrong, but we are we are comparing different populations that need to be accommodated. The u.s. is a very large country comparable to the size of all of Europe. Thank you for answering my question and as you know I am never insulted by the truth.

🎁 Hi @erikah! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

The price tag of 8,000 sq ft of beach property would be. My first thought
On the FIRST image, was how similar it looked to the OLD TIMEY
Wooden structures I grew up with down in S Ga USA, where the
Kitchen was typically a totally separate structure joined to
The main house by a covered walkway. This was a needed
Feature, as fires most often started in the kitchen. It was
Much easier to replace that one part that all the rest
Of the bedrooms and furniture etc.
Love the post, and have upvoted it.I don't have any "House" hunting
Photos (yet) to add, but I am moving in the next 6 wks to a new
Apartment location. Then in the next year I will decide to
Buy or emigrate. Big decision. Have a great day!

Thank you so much for the tip @traciyork! Mwah!

Looks like it has a fun entertainment area out on that deck. Just missing a bbq and some drinks!

I would have to agree with the stairs I’m lucky we have like 1 step here and that is it! When I went up and visit some family while getting some business done I realized I’m not a stairs person anymore! They had quite a few of them and I’m not sad to see those stairs go.

Haha! I probably do about 15 flights of stairs a day. Oi! I don't mind it and skip the elevator to keep fit and prove to myself I can do it!

There is lots of fun entertainment!!!

#marketfridag loves you

Nice entryway inside the front door house and kitchen decor. It is really pretty house for your living.

I loved it!! I would definitely change the bathroom tho.... but I like it! I think I would change the kitchen too... I want a confectioner's oven to please my inner baker! Also add a roof to the pool or make it an inside pool and add a temp thingy so I can change the temp of the water and be able to use it no mater the weather. Now I need tons of $$ to do it hahaha!

That house looks gorgeous to me. I didn't see the last one, but I love this kitchen and the green trees outside. I hope you find the perfect place—I know you will! :)

Wow! I am very late in posting this week, so busy!

Have a wonderful week!

Denise if you were to buy this house, I would love to live very simply in this little room by the pool. It's SO gorgeous. Love that the pool is a salt water one too.

I love houses like this with interconnecting spaces that give individuals their own space and yet feel a connection with the rest of the household. It's the thing that I'll be looking for when the value of STEEM reaches its full potential.

We have a TV show on at the moment which shows 4 different homes to potential buyers who have decided to relocate from their city lifestyle. Sydney (and other cities) prices have escalated over the top, so people are able to move from a small apartment to a much larger rural or semi-rural property. We watch it every week now as it's providing a vision of what may be possible.

It's funny to think that our houses are out there somewhere preparing for our energy to be put into them.

I've just finished my very first #marketfriday post and have another on its heels. It's only two days late! ~ Actually 8 months late! ~ As the photographs were taken in a stall at our farmers' market before last Christmas. I also forgot to use marketfriday as one of my tags when uploading it via wordpress, and although I've added it now, the post isn't in the #marketfriday feed. But I hope you like it and the creativity of this artist/artisan.

Frenches Forest Organic Farmers' Market. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

I really like this place especially the idea of the three separate living spaces this place has a real feel of that natural rain forest feeling very refreshing it's the sort of place i would love to own it's more simply and it's more you , plus it has everything you need :)

Well here is my entry better late then never.

8,000 square feet...? OMG, that is an enormous house...! You'd need a scooter to get from room-to-room! 😮 It is lovely, though... 💛

Howdy dswigle! Another great house to look at, how wonderful! And this one with the three separate living areas is so unusual but is a fantastic idea. This one has alot going for it, I really love that kitchen too.

Are you still looking, do we get to see another one next week?

You have a difficult choice, Denise. Each house is good in its own way. You just need to feel which one is yours. It must be an inner voice.
And I brought the second part of the bazaar:

https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@bambuka/made-in-the-ussr-sdelano-v-sssr-2

Love the warm rich color of the wood floors. Too many are too dark.

Yes, I'm late to the party. I haven't seen the other one yet, but there is nothing not to love about this one as far as I can see.

Oh, click the link on the other one! You may love it better. I'm tossed on this one! One has bling, the other has separation. :)
