HIVE is a long-term project, we are not in it for quick wins, but most new people don't see it this way. Many are powering down now, and I don't blame them.

I am a fussy bastard when it comes to dishing out votes, there's little question there. I manually curate who I follow, but after that, there's always voting power left. Do you want some votes? Put yourself forward, or the bloke next door, or your cousins, grandfather's parrot.

Because, it’s got all kinds of checks in many functions to enumerate you, your post, and… well that’s all I will say. I won’t have it exploited. It would be safe to say I add functions to it frequently, and authors have been removed from it.
I tend to let the anti-abuse guys let me know about such things.
As of now, there are 315 accounts on the approved list. The BOT is written in Python and is a labour of love. This is FREE, there is no charge, no cost, for me it’s something to incentivize authors on HIVE.

If I do add you, don't expect votes. It randomly chooses one from the 'list', does the 'checks', and then gives you a vote. If your account or the post is not suitable it will simply pick another name until I am out of go-go juice.

Why did I go to the trouble of writing such a script that makes lots of checks? That’s easy; it gives me an excuse to write some more Python. At work, I tend to use Powershell, which is quite different.
I don’t want to forget the ‘snake' language, and it's quite the challenge.

As much as I'd like to show you the script running and its output, that will give away the rules. This a shame as it's quite flavoursome and riddled with the most terrible of language.
I can't do this stuff at work, so I make up for it in my own scripts at home.

I also tend to write about politics, finance, music, personal reflections about life (in general) and science and technology-related topics, but much less frequently. I try to publish a frequency of two posts a day to try to reach a larger audience, through multiple communities (hoping to get more exposure and networking). It's not easy, but it has been worth it.
My main focus is not just on myself, but on helping to keep the ecosystem functioning in the best possible way, while also helping other users. I seek to do this through comments, upvotes and by delegating HIVE POWER to projects that I believe are functional and profitable. After all, we all need to help each other to go further.
Last but definitely not least, I am close to achieving the feat of having 50K HIVE POWER staked, and this year, I hope to achieve the status of the FIRST BRAZILIAN with the ORCA seal at HIVE. In these last seven years, my journey has been incredible (especially for all the knowledge I have already got), and I'm keeping working hard to achieve so much more.

Upvote cartels rule the Hive universe. There is simply no denying it. I have monitored the voting behavior of many accounts and the sad reality is that much of the quality is left at the bottom of the barrel in the many instances. At the same time, mutually beneficial partnerships rally together to push junk to the top of the "trending" and "hot" pages. Furthermore, communities are utilizing VP as an under-the-table reward structure for activity-based performance within the community. Sure, as a decentralized ecosystem, it is not forbidden. However, there are consequences...
.. and yet there's the likes of me who checks each account before whitelisting them. You sound very jaded and are already a part of my whitelist. I do my share of what you talk about, but am always looking out for decent writers who don't take it all to support. How can it grow if someone doesn't do something?
Feel free to show me this 'quality'. I will support it if it meets my criteria. HIVE gives what you put into it and that doesn't just mean the quality of your writing, I know a lot of voters check the behaviour. That's a fact.
It's definitely encouraging to encounter those who are diligent regarding curation. However, it is discouraging to constantly see the lion's share of inflationary-based rewards being absorbed by a vulgar display of power rather than creative excellence. However, this is an ongoing issue that would bring in a lot of new users if it were resolved to a degree. I engage with many who won't or have stopped posting due to this issue. We celebrate what works, but advancing comes down to attending to what doesn't...

It's funny how so many people come on and their first thought is to start scamming. I guess it's a mark of how hard it is to create original content although to be honest I sometimes think that scammers put in more effort attempting to scam than they would if they just blogged!
my personal fav, is lovely people that pick a random topic, get AI to generate a very poor rendition of a "information post" on a topic they know nothing about, then they slap a few mildly relevant but poor pictures in and hit "post".
I spend anywhere between 1-5 hours on each and every single post i make here in one way or another and (post less). (occasionally a lot more time is spent, and yes possibly NOT a good use of my time resource, but i believe in HIVE) I wish there was a way of filtering out the more "top tier" stuff. (Not that i'm saying my posts are, they are all about art and gardening). but there is some quality posts on Hive. When i get people i can learn from and enjoy, its amazing!!

What hurts me isn't my writing quality (I thought my recent post about the importance of Witnesses was OK), but my issues building stake over time. A few years ago when I was nearing Dolphin status with LEO, I had to liquidate everything (including my beloved dCity and many tokens), in order to help out my ill elderly relative.
Many voters like to support accounts with a healthy stake, and the loss of ionomy last year cutoff my route to turn fiat into HIVE. I'm sure if I hade 100,000 HP, I'd have no problem getting upvotes. I like reading your urbex content. If you ever move to the states, you'll find the entire country ripe for such exploration. Thanks! :)
In the US I don't think I would dare explore. It's technically illegal there and people are gun happy. Saying that, I know UK peeps who have travelled across and done some, I am not that brave.
As per your account, there are two things that would stop you getting votes. So I could add you to the BOT, but it would bypass you every time. It's not the content but the account in your case.

It's good to see someone new and liking it. This happens often and then when the newness wears off they tend to drift away. If you want my advice, there would be two things that would stop the BOT voting on your content.
I will never tell anyone what to do with this stake but as you are new I can offer to let you know what there are, but neither of them will put your account in and danger of being picked apart. This is just me and my opinions.
Back to the basics when selecting normally 1 x 1 reading, enjoy informative or narration or photography so long as it is human by design, don't blame you for setting up system that works.

Yeah, I've just seen her post 10 months ago, Hive has everything that can make you feel better. And I have also started posting in daily basis after I cut 95% time from the toxic world and feel better here. Gramarly can help a lot regarding the spelling miataks and simple grammer and even structural isaues with premium version. I use it a lot as I need it a lot fo my academic study.
Just keep it at grammar and spelling, and keep away from AI. That will ruin your individualism as well as attracting the unwanted attention of @hivewatchers.

This is a known plagiarist/content thief and a particularly shameless, impudent and arrogant one who has never felt accountable. He also engaged in attempts to doxx Hivewatchers' members after was blacklisted for mass plagiarism.
