This is the second most difficult post I've ever had to write, and it always is when you have to admit that you're doing something wrong, especially when you didn't know you were doing it.

Please don't be upset that I mentioned you in this post. I mean it, have a little patience.
I really appreciate the reception my posts have had lately from all of you. It is you who inspire me to continue working at Steemit.
I want to take this opportunity to apologize deeply to all of you to whom I have sent memos without your consents
I've noticed that the way I've been spreading my recent post is not very well received. I mean the memos. However, I ask for patience before making any judgments in your mind.
Like everyone else, I got started on this platform with the idea of getting economic benefits quickly. With just writing, I would make hundreds of dollars. How wrong I was.
Initially, I thought receiving memos was nice, because you got money for a little message. Obviously, for most users, it's a very small amount and almost worthless, but where I live makes the difference all those little cents. Then I understood that it is a way to make my post known to other people, my post would be known by paying a small tribute (a minimum of 0.005 to 0.015 STEEM) to inform all users about them and also, I wanted them to read them, I wanted to make me known (we do not all?).
It always seemed to me a fair way to advertise my post, a way for other users to find out about my existence. Because on this platform is difficult to know Who has published What, and even more if you have more than 100 followers.
I've received hundreds of memos and they don't really bother me, and now less since the Steemit wallet is in another area of the platform. Fortunately, I have GINAbot, who informs me of every transaction within my account.
How else can I make users see me? The memos!
So far everything was fine (I wrote the sentence in the past).
However, I have seen that there are many people who are annoyed, angry because memos are an invasion of their privacy and a hindrance that makes it difficult to read their transactions. And it's true. They're absolutely right. I complain about Jehovah's Witnesses because they insistently knock on the door of my house to give the word of God, constantly. By doing so, they are not only disrespecting my privacy, my right to choose my own religion but also disrespecting the religion I have.
I realize that I am doing the same thing they are doing by trespassing on the users accounts without their permission.
That's why I made this post. If it's not too much trouble, I'm going to mention all the users who visited me in the last post and those who have received the memos I sent earlier.
Dear reader, if you do not wish to receive memos or mentions from me, please let me know through a comment to this post and I will immediately remove it from my memos list.
Yes, I have a list of users, it is very difficult for me to remember more than 100 users and I want to remind them that I exist every time I write an interesting post.
And yes! The one in the photo is me, without a suit... Natural (for decorous reasons, I'm wearing a shirt...) and with an infernal heat!
Again dear reader, I want to offer an apology if I have somehow offended you and I hope not to disrespect you again. The least I want is an angry reader.
Before I finish, I want to mention something very important to me. I am a friend of @crypto.piotr, many of you should know him, maybe you do, maybe you don't. He has been a good person with me, he has been a great support to endure the tough social, economic and political situation that we, Venezuelans, are facing. Everyone at this point should know that thousands of Venezuelans are constantly fleeing or migrating from the country. But I'm still here because I have a family that depends on me and I just don't want to emigrate (but that's another matter). And if I know anything, it's that only good friends offer their hand when you're on the ground. And he has not only helped me, many compatriots as well. Maybe he's not a saint, nobody is, no human being is perfect, but he's a good person and he's doing a good deed. And many people I know can tell.
If being his friend means being called a cockroach, so be it.

I don't have a problem with it but I see how it could become one. A quick and easy but not completely through fix would be to hide transactions from muted accounts.

I don't get many memos on steemit and the ones I do get are usually interesting and I don't mind responding to them. I saw the commotion about memos recently, I don't understand why this is such a big deal for some people. I wouldn't like it if it was spamming my inbox a lot, but as its just an occasional thing, I think it's fine.

Is this a kind of social science, about advertising by sending STEEM with memo? I guess it's a good way to let people notice someone who want to manage their Steemit. But there is a risk of someone who keep sending memo with low STEEM to annoy another one.
The 0.003 STEEM is very - very low, and I interacted this comment just out of curiosity. But if the amount goes up (maybe half ahead and half after a specific action is taken), this might be an interesting way of engaging new people

Generally, the memos I have sent are 0.005 or higher. Because I am aware that it is a very low value, however, let's remember that this is a blockchain so the price of posting a message should not be expensive and one of the features of a blockchain is the low fees.

Personally I do not mind receiving memos, and like many Venezuelans who make a living by sharing content in this ecosystem, a few cents that would probably be ignored elsewhere, for me and my compatriots can make a big difference in a country where inflation levels they are astronomical figures, difficult to imagine for those who do not suffer it.
On the other hand, I perceive that Steemit has become a community of bots instead of readers, where the creative effort, because that is exactly what we do when publishing, is not properly rewarded, among other reasons, because it is difficult to reach a audience broad enough that can value this effort. The mass sending of memos is a low strategy that can pay off to attract readers, and I do not think it's an invasion of privacy.

That's exactly what I do. I gather list of accounts posting something related to topics that I think are interesting and then I'm sending to all of them 2-3 memos within one month.
I follow those who reply and I support their content from that very moment :)

Personally makes me pay attention to mass memos if amounts are over 0.001 STEEM/SBD and the link or the content is relevant to myself and not just a one size fits all blatantly spammy message.

As I am here because of your memo @crypto.piotr, I suppose that points to the idea that regardless of what people may think about wallet memos, they do work to some degree as a marketing tool.
But — as I wrote in my original answer to @jadams2k18 — it's sketchy territory because wallet memos are used extensively to spam totally useless re-steem services to uninformed Steemians and even get used for phishing and scam attempts. So it is only natural that people look at wallet memos from a negative perspective.
But consider this, though: If everybody suddenly started mass messaging people to go read their posts, what would it be like? I fear your notifications would be going off every six seconds and there would be a huge uproar against it, from the community!

Most people would lose all their resources very quickly. Sending 1000 memos is not cheap and it only make sense to send them to people who will most likely read it and engage back.

I have no problems with memos. I mean it's free Steem/SBD and I try to check out the post given on the memo depending on my interest and time.
My only recommendation will be to keep the memos short and brief even though I'm okay with it however it's presented.

I'm not sure who could possibly pay me for doing that :) To tell you the truth, promoting others posts only cost me time, effort and money. But I'm here (on Steemit) for a long run and I strongly believe that by supporting other authors I will benefit in many ways in the future. Simply because knowing right people allows to create opportunities.
Memos alone do not help much. People tend to ignore memos if they do not recognize nickname of user sending them. For that reason I'm spending tons of hours reading and curating content I consider valuable. Last month alone (according to my notes) I read and commented almost 200 publications. And I replied to over 1k comments. That is really time consuming, but it's already paying back (for example: I recently secured myself a position as a marketing advisor for some Swiss upcoming STO).
Bottom line is: sending memos to people who recognize you make sense, because (based on my experience) 30-60% of those people will engage (depending on subject). Sending memos to those who do not know you is kind of waste of money (response rate ... perhaps close to 5-10%).

I'm glad you don't mind the memos. So far, there is a large percentage, if not a majority, who do not bother to receive memos. There's also the fact that memos shouldn't value 0.001 either. I'm sure this platform could consider them spam if a lot of them are sent with that amount.
However, many agree that the opinions of others and their privacy should be respected. Therefore we should only send memos to those who follow us and indicate in the memo the possibility of not receiving them in the future, if necessary.

I dont really think its that big of a issue if im honest. A front end can always put in a filter for memos with under 0.1 (or something) Steem.
Its a silly discussion IMO and the folks that complain the most about it are just bored.

I don’t mind memos at all, and have a hard time understanding why people would. It is much less intrusive than receiving spam email or even seeing a tv ad, and you receive a micropayment for the advertising. Most senders also provide opt out ability which I find very respectful.
This also serves as a way for any steemit user to advertise their own brand and content for a very low cost.
This is a much greater alternative to the existing advertising methods. Don’t be ashamed and keep doing what you are doing.

I believe I was tagged in this previously, started to read the post, wasn't sure what it was about and did not finish. I received your memo and knew it was worth revisiting. @crypto.piotr keep me on your list, the posts are never spammy, the comments from others responding to your memos are always interesting and I find new people to follow. I'm glad I reread the post and have decided to follow @jadams2k18 and look forward to reading his posts. I prefer the memo method over being tagged because the memos come with messages describing the content before clicking. I see some people are angry with memos, that's fine, they can miss out, your memos warmly invite people to interesting content and you are essentially paying them for the "burden" of appearing in their transaction logs. Spam does not come with money attached or people would sign up for it in droves, try to figure out how to receive the most spam. There would be scams involving people trying to collect more spam than they deserve. lol. There is an old saying "Haters gonna hate" don't let them get you down, people are cranky for reasons beyond your control, it is their problem, not yours. Hi, @ crypto.piotr is really the best or only way to connect with steemit users, since otherwise it would be using the social networks that each person posts in their posts, I do not think there is another way to interact with a user . Comments are more complicated in my opinion because if the user does not post frequently, you can not communicate with them.

I don't mind it, because I only respond to the ones that interest me, and that's not many. Eventually I think the memo-spammers realize they are just throwing money away and stop bothering me. Also, I hardly ever check my transactions in the first place, because I have ALOT going on in my life.. so most just slip through the cracks.

I have a lot of respect for you having written this post, when there are no guides or rules for a platform, it is easy for people to get defensive when someone is upset by what is technically perfectly acceptable behavior.
There is a huge issue on steemit between what people see as good etiquette, and what is written down as the guides for platform usage. Essentially, when nothing even suggests you shouldn't do something, how would anyone know it is frowned upon, until they start doing it, and start getting the backlash. I think emotions only tend to run really high depending on how that backlash is responded to. And your response is admirable <3
In all honestly, i hadn't seen the memos you sent me, i don't have that on my ginabot notifications because of the sheer about of bot driven wallet spam, but given that it is so widely done, it is easy to assume it is okay. I have got in shit for doing things i saw everyone else doing, and couldn't see excluded anywhere, so started doing it too. The other part of this, is it does work. I am on the don't spam unsolicited links to wallets side of this, but when engagement can be so low, and it is so effective, i can see the arguments for doing it. My word, you have got some crazy levels of engagement from it, and real engagement.
I am not sure that anyone is saying that being friends who someone who is antagonistic when called out for doing this makes you a cockroach. But maybe more of a rebuttal to people who do this, and feel like they have the right to and apologize with if statements that express blame towards the other person.
If you are offering a subscription service, please sign me up, tagging me or messaging me on discord now and then would be more effective as I don't check my wallet that often. That said, i am always behind on reading and commenting on things and some things do just fall by the wayside.
Anyway, nice to put a face to the name ;) what you are going through is so very much, and given how sensitive you have been towards people getting upset about this, I don't think anyone could hold it against you <3<3

It must have been difficult for you to write this post but it is very well written and I congratulate you for it.
I've realized that the attitude of people towards memos can be very variable. There are the ones who are happy to get them and the others who feel invaded by them. The later category can become quite angry about it and this casts quite a shadow on the whole process.
When I look at what has gone on in the domain of e-mail where there are quite strict laws about to whom we are allowed to write a mail, I believe that we should also observe some ground rules about the memos. I believe that it would be enough to create a form with google forms or another service where people could actually enroll to the distribution list. Like that we would send memos only to people who gave a direct consent.
You are doing an amazing work here on steem with @crypto.piotr and the project #hope but I think that the choice of using the memo as a means of communication can cast a negative shadow on it.

Yes, It was hard. The worst part is waiting to read the comments. Yesterday the electricity went out 3 times and I was eating my nails to know what was going on!
You're quite right in what you say, possibly there should be an option within Steemit that would allow the memos to be filtered. But since they are money transactions, it's probably not possible.

Some people can feel offended and they tend to express it quite clearly. So instead of having discussions related to the subject of a post it can lead to emotional discussions about spam and privacy. Which can drop a shadow on the good work.

Reality is that most of those who complain about memos will end up having very little to no traffic and sooner than later will abandon Steemit.
For that reason I do not worry about those users in a long run. When someone seem to be upset about receiving memo, then best thing we can do is to apologize, mute and move on.
Trust me - in few months if you visit accounts of those people - almost all will be already gone. They will end up giving up on this platform because of the constant lack of engagement and visibility.
That's so far my experience.

I can't actually believe there are people who don't like those memos! What kind of an idiot does't like free money? Imagine STEEM actually did hit the $100 mark as some say. Then a 0.003 STEEM would mean 30 cents. That's more that enough for a coffee in most developing countries.
You used a system as it should be used instead of spamming people i comments. You have given people free STEEM. You have nothing to apologize for. Thee is always going to be that dumb jerk who has something against you. Just ignore those toxic people and go on your own way.

Hey @jadams2k18, it is fine with me. I do understand many don't like it. So have to be cognizant of that. Alternately, tag the people you want to have a look at your post. That too works and has the same effect as wallet memo. I mean the person comes to know you have written a post. 😊

As many Venezuelans are surviving I notice it because of the people who visit me much thinner, there is no variety in the meals, no snacks, some having a salary that barely reaches the fortnight, but here we are and here we continue, we do not we want to go from the country.

That's right, we don't want to leave our country. There is no better place like home. But I'm not against young people going out to meet and venture into the world. I know it's not easy to abandon loved ones, but if you have to go out, the best thing to do is to take a positive attitude and go with God.

Sending out memos is great but it also has its gray area in a way. And think you might have to find another means of reaching out to people through memos. Like someone suggested earlier, maybe creating a google form or a callout post to allow people willingly opt in after reading your posts can be worth it.

People need to get over themselves a little bit and name calling is never okay. Personally, I would block anyone who decides to be aggressive and unfriendly.

I'll start by saying that You should not feel bad and personally I don't think You did anything wrong, and since the wallet as some people think, is NOT private, if it was then no one would be able to see it, nor have the ability to send any kind of transaction with memos, the resources on other hand are OWNED by each individual account OWNER, so I guess there are some people that don't really understand the difference between privacy and ownership, not the same thing, specially in the blockchain..I do share the same opinion as Crypto.Piotr to some extent, mentions are way more intrusive than memos, still I don't mind about either because I'm a small guy roaming around and don't receive that much of either, and even the spam in wallet doesn't bother me, at least not to the point of going around talking s#$& about others who actually do something good for those who need..Glad to 'hear' that 'our' reception of Your posts somehow give You inspiration ;)And the memos being used as a 'marketing' tool are as valid as any other mean, I wouldn't personally do that but I would love to see people trying to avoid receiving publicity in the mail box at home, even with the warning stickers and all the warnings to not put it there.It's not like in the memos by actual people, where You can simply ask to not receive them anymore and it's all good, I guess that there are a few 'snow flakes' out there that are part of a community, but want everything as the ego tells them it should be so it could feed, and anything that comes from another individual perspective isn't valid, only their 'truth' and not truth itself....sigh..Go Gina bot!! I digress..)..and will have to leave a freakin' humongous quote (I don't agree w/ 100% of it still..)..Now, please do continue to send posts as long as it doesn't blow up Your funds, heck, lets all become whales and crash the blockchain with memo transactions to the 'snowflakes' until they're "rich", and then see them complain..

For as much as I would love to answer in few words, I can only do so much, and will try my best to summarize..
I really hate the military (not the persons, the institution) but, am actually a "saint" soldier (Sikh)..Normally I have to deal with 50 to 100 daily e-mails, from those select the right petitions, surveys (how I make some change for quite a while now), newsletters from the most various topics (science, medicine, technology, spirituality, truth..), non-MSM news, all the activism contacts to help from animal to human rights, passing by a multitude of matters, try to study and understand the propaganda that creates "reality" all around us and the most efficient way that I can fight back, by whatever means available (can't actually talk about most of it..), and so You understand how much of my time just that consumes, it's already 2:57 in the morning and there are more than 30 e-mails in the inbox and other folders, from yesterday..In a while I have to do my daily routines as Sikh, if I want to keep my sanity and in Truth, to be and have some peace, and my neighbours are d#$%s, for as much as I would love to, rarely see my kids or can be with them..My mother is a stubborn 'piece', she helps somewhat, at the same time makes my life, her and from my kids a living hell (and neither my kids nor my mother live here with me), I don't have friends around me (a couple maybe, at the weekends, to do nothing but play games.. sigh..), all the other friends are far away and we don't have that much contact, have I said already that my neighbours are complete d#$%s (deep breaths Cyber, relax, You should not kill the SOB's, recognize the little bits of Creator in them..)..Have been living alone in a too damn big house for a single person for quite a long time, 13 Years maybe with only sporadic company of passing people in need of help and a couple of friends.. A lover in my life would do wonders, or a secretary to help with all the non-paid work, I don't have time for myself cause the majority of population have lost humanity and let the elites make of them puppets on strings..Enjoy life.. How could I be such an hypocrite to enjoy life while conscious of all the mind control involved in the so called "enjoyment of life" available around, after a battle of 9 months (my first big one) to don't allow the destruction of the last piece of nature around here, only to fail cause the only person that was by my side gave up after 1 month or so, and that was enough for the loss, still I've learned a lot about humanity, or the lack of it, had to run from bullets, to rest without sleep, without resources, food or pretty much any basic necessity..My father vanished and could give a big hand in a lot of issues that actually matter for the world, but I understand him, he probably felt the same thing when he was my age back then and simply did not knew how to deal with it, can't blame him, nor my mother to be honest, even with all the b"#$&%1t, she was also another slave of this system and is too old now and ill to wake up..It's not that I don't want to post, it's something that I'm not able to do for no reason, with no inspiration, with all the sadness and tears I barely manage to breath much less draw, paint, write, shoot some photographies, can't sleep, eat or do anything.. I agree that making 1 post or 100 would be like a sneeze but, if I was inspired, and had strength left inside me (I know I have and that pisses me off even more, but I know its wrong so I continue, instead of putting a f#$%&g rope in the neck and ending all this), I would definitely be very creative, always was since a very young age, but lost everything, even my teeth so, there is not much of a hope for me now beside continue to fight until a miracle happens (probably by mistake, otherwise I don't see it happen, and I have to be grateful for life and what I have, F$%& all of this.. I want human companion, animals, nature, not cement and tar, cars, and narcissistic mundane futility as I see every time I go out..)..I won't join telegram, not because I don't want to talk with You, but because I don't use one of the biggest mind control tools available at the moment, mobile phones SMART phones or any device of the genre, I don't use one, the same way I don't use Wi-Fi, and barely touch in the microwave (only by necessity when time don't allow to heat something in a pan, every second count..)..Plus this computer is decent but not enough, my previous one had a bit more capacity but burned and I don't have that much funds, nor accept handouts from governments, don't have a freaking slave job from 9 to 5 because what is available are life stealing jobs that are not even honest, don't pay any taxes in other hand I am being greatly f#$%ed by this slave system for it, it's difficult to do everything as I used to..Well, these were 20 + minutes I took off to answer You, in the most brief way I could find, sorry to bother You with my shitty "life quest"..My head hurts and I still have a lot to do..I'll drop by once in a while, You too keep in touch brother, all the best.Cy

But I have to disagree with that age / sleep relation, from what I've learned from older people I've met, one gets less sleep the older one gets =XI know I should feel good, and to a degree I do, but it's more of a responsibility and principle thing, sometimes (more than I like) I have to put "my" likes to the side and just do what is right for the "grater good"..And if You're coming from time to time to tell me about my words I'm not into it x), Jesus is my family name, there were no character named Jesus and Christ is a 'title'.. So at most I agree with the conscious of Christ because there were no character named Jesus and we can all become like Christ but that is another story..Wow. Yeah, I'm a little box of surprises..At the moment I'm a full-time Steemian (not going that well still..), answer surveys online for a lot of different companies, and whenever I have the opportunity to grab small jobs like computer repairs, tutoring, or pretty much anything I have experience or knowledge..The last couple of jobs I've had were both in grocery shops, in one of them I didn't even accepted money to set an example (money sucks), before that I've worked in a local Game Arena/Shop (it closed because the owner never listened to the workers, and it was such an amazing work), as an IT Technical Administrator at one of the national ISP's, worked in restaurants, construction, in the National Institute of Statistics, and done lot of other things..But, no longer sign contracts and only receive if not in an "official" way, I refuse to pay any sort of taxes and contribute to any government or state war funds..Since I don't need much, have food available, plus I'm growing some of it in the house, and fortunately this is my own house so I don't have to pay rent, the rest of the expenses, I've been lucky to have who pay them when my funds are low, although at this point I'm in a mood that I don't really care, and if something goes terrible wrong I'll leave to live far away in a forest or something like that, is not like if I've never lived without a house before..Getting pretty tired of the city..All the best brother,Cy

A CyberCafe seems cool, around here there were a couple CyberCafe's, but they closed some years ago =XYeah dealing with customers can be hard sometimes..So at the NSI, have You noticed them cheating and manipulating statistics to deceive people through the media, or maybe You weren't in a position were that was possible or they do it more covertly around there?!Awesome, You code! I used to, but it was killing me, spending 3 maybe 4 days awake in front of the computer.. and around here, well that doesn't matter..That is a shame, You've been domesticated =(, and I understand how it may seem good but, it doesn't matter also, but I'll say that nature does not "create" "indoor cats", humans with delusions of grandeur do..I've laughed a lot when I've started writing this comment, the old drum stool I use to sit at the computer broke!! Had it temporarily fixed (or so I thought), and as soon I try to sit it broke again xD, had to leave the comment, go grab some tools, and repair it, just had to cut 2 pieces of metal turn on of them upside down.. Took care of food, and felt tired cause haven't sleep that well lately so I've went to bed after eating and brooming the house, and freakin' overslept it, but had most of the work done for yesterday so it's ok, sorry about the delay here..CheersAmazing comment @cyberspacegod

Steemit is a tough place to succeed in. If memos helps you succeed then go for it. I never understood the reasoning to not like such a thing. All one needs to do is ignore the memo if they don't like it.

That's right, Steemit is hard to succeed, but maybe that's what the challenge is all about. I don't mind memos either. However, it's important to value the opinion of others and not to bother those who don't want to be bothered.
Steemit is also a community and the peace of a community begins with respect for the rights of others.

A challenge is good but the attraction to STEEMIT for most is the ability to earn and with how hard it is to do that its bordering on impossible to do.
Of course success doesn't always mean earnings but to most it does. Things like RC replacing Bandwidth has caused less and less people to stick around. The grumbling about miniscule things that people do to try and succeed on here and create interaction is another.
Of course if someone request for someone to stop sending memos then that request should be taken seriously. No invasion of privacy has taken place when a memo is sent.
You're right about RC, they've made life difficult for new people and for those who don't have much SP. Because of these deficiencies, users will probably need to look for other means of attracting attention.
Maybe that's what's increased the memos, who knows.
Thank you @crypto.piotr for sharing this post to me. @jadams2k18 well, I have no issue at all about receiving memos and it is not even close to an invasion of privacy IMO. Some people might be annoyed but I don't think it is related to privacy because they can easily just pass it and ignore the memo. Maybe send it only to people who opt in to receive or people who choose not to opt out of the list. I wish you all the best =)

I'm glad you don't mind the memos. The best thing to do, from the point of view of the comments I've received, is to send memos to those who follow you and be aware that if any of them don't want to receive memos then take them off our list.

I don't have an issue with you sharing a post with me this way now but if it started to happen a lot I would just ignore it. I get it it is hard to get people to read the post here. I love steem and still, I am so busy that I very rarely spend time just reading posts.

What you want to do is stick a little red thumbtack to your exterior doorframe. The flat kind... Jehovah's Witnesses put them there to warn other Witnesses that the house is "unclean"... I found this out decades ago, because when they came my roommate casually explained that he was an athiest and I was a witch. The next day, we saw it up there. So just use a flat red thumbtack, and you won't be bothered. <3

There's no easy answer here, because it's really a case of "it depends."
The PROBLEM is that most people in this community — and particularly those who have been here a long time — get lots of wallet spam from so-called "services" offering offering to upvote and resteem your posts. The majority of them are pure garbage. By association, we see most of what arrives in our wallets as "messages" to be trash, or attempts to extort money or even phishing attempts.
This is very different from getting a new post notice from a trusted writer you know.
Unfortunately — much like the spam in your email — it ALL arrives the same way.
Unfortunately, there is no real "opt in" system here, which means you will upset some people. It's a bit like political advertising: it goes to everyone, and some will be offended, and some will not.

Dear jadams,I know sometime receiving memos can be annoying but still I pay attention to some of the memos which I find interesting,like now I have just read your post.I came to know that you are leading a difficult life in Venezuela.I know a little bit about the economic and political situation over there as there are many steemit users from Venezuela.I don't know what to say about it.But if you are promoting your post through memos then it is not a bad thing,at least to me it is not.

you have been nothing but nice to me kiddo. but yes sending links to the memos unasked can really cause damage. not necessarily by you but copycats who will spam people. As i said in both my posts i would send potential people a memo asking if they would be interested in being included in your memo list like that people can choose. I personally do not want this but I have no problems with you tagging me in posts you find relevant.

I seldom engage these kind of posts, but I feel I must in this instance. @jadams2k18 , memos are not a good look, and are not a great strategy. To surmise that people are not bothered by them just because they are not vocal is the wrong conclusion.
You assumed in your opening that everyone came here to make money. I have steemed for 3 years, it wasn't the reason I started, and I stay for the interaction with intelligent people with great content, a great example of which is @tygertyger.
I seek out great writers from Venezuela, the posts are of interest to me and I know the votes are precious at this time due to the crisis, but those associated with message spamming come across as someone to be weary of.
It is tempting to try these things. crypto.piotr seems to need to defend his tactics and marketing strategies time and again, with backhanded apologies that generate him more attention, associated with "helping a friend."
Keep writing, engage on posts. When people comment on my post, I pop across and check out there posts. It takes time, but you will establish more genuine following. I believe "in the long run," which crypto.piotr is very open to admit is his own plan with the memo marketing, you will build, may build a loyal following. Or if you are really luck make one or two real friends... That is priceless.
Your writing and creativity is enough. It can be frustrating to not be seen, we have all experienced that.
Many people dislike the memo strategy, we are cautioned regarding scammers.
The messages with almost zero incentive to click are not new or innovative, just as the conversation involving your charitable friends engagement technique is not a new one.
PS for the record, if anyone would avoid squashing a roach, and probably feed it and put it outside in a safe spot I think it would be @tygertyger .
The memo strategy is a violation of people's privacy. But, it also serves to remind friends about prominent publications. As I do today. There are so many applications and platforms constantly bombarding you with information that I often forget to review my friends' publications, that's why I like to receive them to know if there's something new that I don't know about.
