Ode to my friends on steemit! How did I become so attached to everyone??

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Source

So I've been on steemit for exactly 87 days today, and it feels like that time has simply flown by. I was thinking about just that a few days ago, when it hit me like a brick in the face...there are so many people I've become emotionally attached to here!

How exactly did that happen?? I guess it goes back to the idea of being your true self on here, and being truly genuine. I realised that I have become emotionally invested, and I see that as a good thing. It simply means that I care about the platform as a whole, but more importantly, I care about the people on it!

It's the kind of caring and attachment that has me randomly thinking of people throughout the day, like:

  • @davemccoy, I wonder if you're seeing your mom today; you're a great son, one I'd like my son's to grow up to be like
  • or when I'm at the beach, I think @beeyou would love this, because I know she loves the ocean
  • @thedarkhorse, is his office still clutter-free and what's he focusing on now?
  • @abh12345, is he in his one pair of jeans, analyzing numbers for all of us?
  • @themanwithnoname, thank god he found his wedding ring, and what's he going to say today to make me laugh?
  • @bashadow ...what is Alaska really like?
  • @apolymask, how excited are you about your game today? and how sweet it is to promote your dad, @irvinesimages for all of his amazing photos
  • @jaynie, are you still able to live off of steemit? ...I hope so!!
  • @hitmeasap, have you paid off more bills to be able to go to school?
  • @traciyork, how many gifs are you going to create today to make me smile?
  • @rwedegis, where are you travelling to now? another lucky guy!!
  • @taskmaster4450, where's your inspiration for STEEM coming from today? because I look forward to that!
  • @amariespeaks, what's your reading going to tell me next Tuesday?
  • @charisma777, how is your son doing?
  • @kismet2018, what words of wisdom will you send my way to help me deal with everything I've got going on at home with @briancourteau (my love!)
  • @zord189, you're always there at 2 in the morning when I can't sleep and you talk to me even though I know you're so busy at work!
  • @spiritualmax what turn is your game going to take next?...and now you have me thinking of Portugal :)
  • @deancarter, my buddy here in Playa!! How come I don't see you more??
  • @lyndsaybowes, what are your #chickensbitchez and Peter Parker and Mr. Pendock up to today?
  • @lidac, how's the cleaning business going, and are you still run off your feet?
  • @amarbir, how many bananas have you eaten today?
  • @raymondspeaks, what kind of crazy questions is that group of @steemitbloggers going to ask you today?
  • @insideoutlet and @shai-hulud, my new friends at @asapers; when's the big shave day for your cancer fundraiser?
  • @gilleanpearce, have you set that timer to get your behind out of your computer chair every now and again? :)
  • @newbieresteeday ...my first family here...I could make a separate post about all of you!
  • @steemitbloggers ...my second family here...what would I do without you guys??!!
  • @simplymike, now that I know you're in Belgium, I'm going to see you for sure when I visit relatives there!
  • @wwf, what selfless cause are you working towards now?
  • @mikepm74, I know you disagree, but I still think of you as a "big guy" here :)
  • @jayclar30, another recent friend with all kinds of insight on me and Brian's personal struggles
  • @five34a4b, who has commented on nearly every single post I've ever written!
  • @terminallyill, another recent connection based on my personal story with @briancourteau, but it's turned into so much more, like having yet another family at @greetersguild
  • @helpie, the newest group I've joined...their name says it all ;)
  • @tifaong, who else would I talk relationship stuff with?
  • @fibrefox, who always says the right things!
  • @beekerst, what awesome woodworking thing are you working on now?
  • @glenalbrethsen, what crazy comics are you writing now...and my go-to-guy for research!
  • @galenkp, who genuinely popped into me and Brian's life here; I can always count on you for wise words!
  • @goldendawne, my expert go-to gal for steemit questions and loamy soil ones too ;)
  • @smylie2005, everyone needs a good ol' Texan in their life, y'all ;)
  • @drkent, a very recent friend who reminded me to live with my eyes open!
  • @coolguy123, who always is so cool and encouraging :)
  • @c0ff33a, what magical cup of joe are you brewing up today? and thanks for the coffee education!
  • @cryptkeeper17 and @jorlauski, how will you 'egg' on @themanwithnoname today? :)
  • @foxyspirit, one day we'll have a great talk over a beer...or two, for sure!
  • @silentdiscourse, so glad you let me "take you under my wing" ;)
  • @grolelo, when are you hopping off that hamster wheel? :)
  • @happycrazycon, what accidental photo will be laugh about next?
  • @donkeypong, a fairly recent find, how will you make my brain spin today? :)
  • @magicalmoonlight, where will you spread your magic today?
  • @livinguktaiwan, we met in the beginning of this journey and have stuck together!
  • @quillfire, my muse when I need some poetry to dream about and my go-to when I need encouragement to have a glass of wine;)
  • @deliberator, what rant are you gearing up for today? ;)
  • @wanderlass, where would newbie be without you, or me and Brian for that matter? :)

I could go on and on, but I won't ;) Truthfully, I've been sitting on this post for a couple of days because I didn't want it to seem like I was simply name dropping, but those of you who really know me, know that my emotions here are genuine...actually my emotions everywhere are ;) And, I was so worried about leaving someone out! If I missed you, please don't take it personally! Simply drop me a note in the comments...I'll make it up to you I promise ;)

This exercise taught me a couple of things ...

  • Always take the time to really appreciate those people in our online and offline life who mean something to us. Take the time to let them know you care and that they are important to you. Trust me, I know how short and unfair life can be, and you really don't want to be left one day thinking, "hmmm, I wish I would have told insert name here how much he meant to me!".

  • And specific to steemit, let your "friends" know they mean something to you. Drop by their post, leave a nice comment, or message them on Discord just to say hi. We never really know how our actions affect someone, but what I am sure of, is that a positive message will always bring about an equally positive feeling and response in another human being.

Let's all remember to keep the in humanity here ;)

Steem on everyone, and maybe consider creating your own Ode to my Friends on Steemit... it might make you and them smile!

THANK YOU for the mention! I can see I am in fabulous company with ALL THESE people you mentioned.

I doubt @anh12345 is working in jeans- more than likely a pair of beach shorts... @wwf- yes.. always involved in some wonderful pay it forward initiative... and so MANY more people I know personally! GREAT selection!

You are so welcome @goldendawne! I too think we are in "fabulous company";)

...and you're right, @abh12345 is probably in shorts haha and @wwf, who knows? but it would be something selfless and worthwhile for sure!

I'm so glad I met you early on in my steemit journey :)

How in the world does a guy get a reputation like this? hahaha. I may need to hit a bank just to put the record straight! You both are awesome! I am humbled by your words. <3

haha @wwf...now you've done it! I need to add humble to my list of adjectives for you;)

We all have days that we need someone to chat at, or with, or we have something we want to share or a chip on our shoulder we need removed. I have met so so many wonderful people from literally all over the world. I may not get to talk at or to them often, but so so many. From Australia then over to Argentina and S. America up both coast sides, to Alaska and those coastal routes meeting up at in Nome. Then Russia, just a little hop and skip over Little Diomede Island, SO many peoples so many coast so many rivers. I hope we never forget the Human in Humanity also.

I hope we're not the only ones so amazed with that!! Every day I think the same thing...I've just travelled the world, again, tonight! It's so mind boggling really ;)

And you're right, each of us at some point needs something, and we can all so easily give it! I believe you always have the 'human' in humanity @bashadow; but I hope along with you, for those who seem to forget.

Based on my brief time here experiencing your kind patience and reading your words, I suspect you are a very special human @bashadow! Pleasure to know you!!!

Thank you.

oh @kismet2018, he is indeed a very wise soul!

@lynncoyle1, it's a pleasure to have you as the most recent asapers member. You reminded me of @insideoutlet when I first encountered you and that's why it was easy for me to decide to delegate you some Steem Power and welcome you to the asapers. With that said, I have every intention of delegating you another portion of Steem Power in the future, when I've been able to generate some.

For your question:
I have managed to pay the entire debt and I start on Monday. I can't send any applications for a new student loan until monday, but everything should be okay... So I cross my fingers for a swift application process and I'm starting to get really nervous.. In a good way! :)

Stay awesome!

Hooray!! I'm so happy for you; what a relief to have it paid off!! And starting Monday, that is exciting! I'll be thinking about you then for sure ;) I understand 'good' nervous as well; it's so exciting starting another new adventure!

Thank you again for welcoming me and delegating; for the little I know of @insideoutlet, I will take that as a huge compliment! And I appreciate your intentions of delegating more; whenever that happens will be awesome!

I will take that as a huge compliment!

You definitely should. :)
The asapers wouldn't even exist if it weren't for everything she does. My initial project actually transformed into what it is today, due to her and @shai-hulud. However, I don't take away anything from any other asaper either, as my initial project still stays the same too, so my project became like a 2 in 1 thing.

And now, with you as an asaper, I can be even prouder to see that the thoughts and mindset I had when I came up with the initial project continues to be kept alive and spread across the platform. It's amazing to see and I'm very proud to be a part of the asapers.

That's so nice to hear!

And now, with you as an asaper, I can be even prouder..

You have every right to be proud of what you started and what continues to grow thanks to such an awesome team; I too am proud to belong to a group whose members truly care !!

Lynn, what a beautiful Ode to my friends post. You added that personal element by describing the individual's interest or life. I love the ocean and only someone who would take the time to read my posts or comments would know that.

Truly a lovely post and I hope everyone sees the love behind your words.

Thank you so much @beeyou! It really did come from my heart ;) And I guess you're right, some people don't actually read everything, but as you said, I do and I wouldn't have it any other way. I guess I needed to be emotionally invested to really want to continue every day here, because as you are well aware, some days it feels like a lot haha

Thank you again for such kind words!

I think many of us are still on here because of the emotional aspect of steemit. It surely is not about the post payout. We can make more a day making minimum wage elsewhere!

That's so true!! Brian was getting discouraged about it all and went to play online slots, which he loves. He won $500 US! I said he made more money than I have here; and if I factor in the hours I've spent, I'd say it's about 1/4 of minimum wage haha

...so yes, emotional it is ;)

Yes, @beeyou! I remember when we first "met", in early days, we established we were "Ocean Children"!

@lynncoyle1 that humid, salty air and surf are things fantasies are made of - especially when the "Ocean Child" is landlocked, thousands of miles away from salty water, living on The Prairies ... The majesty of the Canadian Rockies make up for it!

@kismet2018, so you're an "Ocean Child" too, and stuck in the Prairies...what a crying shame haha

You're right though...I never tired of looking at those mountains!!

Yes, @lynncoyle1 I am very much an "Island Girl" to the depths of my innards - hehe. The majestic Rockies are beautifully distracting! I can almost forget that I am profoundly landlocked and very far away from salty Surf and Air!

Thank you for your hospitality and invitation!

I know, and I love it when I run into my ocean gals @kismet2018 and @lynncoyle1. We all have to make a paradise get together one day, perhaps to visit @lynncoyle1 in her slice of paradise. ;)

@beeyou... one of your best ideas ever !!!

Anytime girls, my door is always open, and so will the drinks be haha

Whoaaa ... what a delicious idea, @beeyou!! Btw, I am missing you!!!! The nerve of life to interrupt Steemit - hehe ⚘

@lynncoyle1, how very observant, tender-hearted and appreciative you are! You have taken the time to get to know your friends here.

As for "words of wisdom", Girl, I can't promise that. What I can share with you is the tough way to do life, and the easier way! The inevitability of pain and loss is no match for the resilience of the human spirit!

Thank you for sharing your story and journey with us!

Resteemed, Upvoted

aww @kismet2018, you always make me smile!! And you are so right, and obvious proof of

the resilience of the human spirit!

You are welcome, and thank you for sharing your story as well!! I love that this place is such a safe and positive place for us to do just that!

Thanks for the resteem and upvote as well; always appreciated!!

Hope you're having an awesome weekend!

What I see here is gratitude; A post by someone showing genuine gratitude towards others who have impacted her life in some way, large or small. I also see openness, candor and respect. Overall it’s a good post. Simple, but effective.

As one of the people on your list in this post I can say I am genuinely pleased to be there and that I’ve also enjoyed engaging with you and hope to do so into the future @lynncoyle1

This is what steemit should be about.

I’m going to resteem this and see if I can get you some more support. I’ll also take a look at the users you mention, a couple of whom I follow now anyway.

All the best for the weekend!

Thank you so much @galenkp; your perceptions are very kind indeed!!

This is what steemit should be about.

I will continue to do what I hope steemit will be.

Thank you so much for the resteem; as always, I appreciate your support! I hope you find some new people to follow here as well...there's talent there for sure!

And buddy, this is just the beginning of a long and engaging relationship! ;)

Have an awesome weekend!

What a lovely post from a lovely lady! The farmgirl in Mexico has outdone herself here! It shows the depth of connections and the feelings we share for each other! Well done, well done!

ps.. I'm always keep thinking, is @lynncoyle1 going toplay hooky and hit the beach waters today? But the funny thing is, you always find the time to show up and spread some of your love. My respect because I'm not sure I could make that choice! :)

@davemccoy, thanks so much for the kind words...I can hear how proud you are and I appreciate that!!

...and Brian and I were at the beach today haha, and as you know, enjoyed a few drinks on the way home! But in the evenings, I always start thinking about all my friends here ;)

awww that is so awesome... I'm glad you two are getting out and having fun! That makes me very happy Lynn! :)

And yes, I have proud of you and you have my full respect!!!

Thank you so much!! We even went out last night and listened to some Reggae and had a couple drinks. Poor Brian is exhausted today though, but it was totally worth it!!

And my pride and respect...Right back atcha buddy!!

That is so so cool! I'm very happy to hear that! :)

and thank you too ;)

I can only agree with everything you say. When I first came to SteemIt, I thiught it would just be another blogging platform. Boy, was I wrong..
Little by little I started to ‘know’ some people, and although I don’t know everyone as good as you seem to do, I do consider them as my friends, my family, my ‘tribe’.
I never thought something like this would be possible online.

I know, right?? I have always been a good listener in real life, and I think that goes a long way here as well, especially when commenting; I find there are so many opportunities while commenting to find out things or ask people questions, that may not necessarily coincide with the post topic.

The fact that so much of everything here is positive, unlike most other social media platforms. You and I both know there's some negatives here, like you getting hacked for example, but what I noticed was the outpouring of concern and help that went your way when it did.

I too had no idea what to expect here, but I can tell you, I never expected all of this. It continues to be a very pleasant surprise!

I could not agree more. The negatives just dhow how strong the community is. I’ve said it before: the hacking was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Not only for the extra exposure and the followers it gained me, but because of all the warm words and the support. On top of that, it gives me the ability to help people to reinstate their account (almost daily).
Another example is the @friendsofgondor initiative... Although the flagging war is a negative thing, a lot of people are willing to give their support to fight the good fight (not really ‘fight’ of course, but you know what I mean...)

Hey I totally agree about the @friendsofgondor initiative...good ol' @davemccoy, coming up with such a positive way to help a very negative (albeit necessary) situation!

And I hadn't heard you say the hacking was a good thing in the end...but I totally get how it has become one! It's so crappy that people daily are getting hacked, but you're right...the opportunity to educate is always so rewarding!

I'm helping some other people to get their reputation back, but it's not easy to get all the flaggers to take their flag back. I'm still under the impression that a lot of fellow Steemians don't even know what is going on...

For sure... a lot aren't aware until something happens to them...

@lynncoyle, I wish I had seen this earlier! I should have been the first one to comment on such kindness! I am truly honored to be among this impressive list of Steemians. Know this girl, the very next time I enter the wood shop I will be thinking of you! Thank you for including me in your list of friends!

Hey 1st to respond, middle, or last all means the same to me!! Thank you!

You deserve to be on this list like everyone else and I'll be curious to see what you end up creating with me as your muse ;)

Your comment really did make me smile! Thank you!

It's really amazing how in a short time of chatting with people online and reading their posts you can grow an emotional attachment to people who you have never met in person. Yet there is no question it happens and they are friendships that are born.

I've had offers from 2 different people on Steemit that if I want to visit their Country that myself and my family could stay with them to save money...amazing that a connection strong enough to open your doors to someone could happen online. Add in a number of others who have said that if I visit their area we need to meet up and it makes me want to keep coming back each day to see what everyone is up to.

Look forward to one day having the chance to start meeting some of these great people in person. Also getting to visit all the places in the world that they have exposed me to via their posts.

Without question I need to figure out a trip to Mexico to grab a bucket or two with you and Brian.

It's so true!! There's nothing more sacred than your home and the trust that develops to open those doors is really amazing. Brian and I have talked about how awesome it would be to travel the world and visit all the steemians we've met here...sounds crazy but I'd venture to guess we're not the only ones who have thought about it!

And there will always be several buckets of beer and an umbrella drink for your wife whenever you decide to come here :)

I know you aren't the only ones to think about it as I'm right there with you. Guessing that as more friendships are formed more and more meetups will happen allowing steemians to meet face to face.

And there will always be several buckets of beer and an umbrella drink for your wife whenever you decide to come here :)

and there is always plenty of beer and a deep dish pizza here for you if you make it to Chicago.

We love Chicago! You're officially on our list of new steemian friends to visit !!

Anytime you can make it just let me know.

Oh no my banner doesnt work very well. Thibk i need to recheck it. I broke it on the phone lol.

As for shave day! Its tomorrow, im silently terrified but know I'll love his bald head as much as his curls cause although those curls got this girl, its the man than made this woman stay. 💜💜💜

I admire your courage daily and we are blessed you love online people as much as offline ones.

hahaha knowing my history, it's my mistake that the banner isn't working properly!!

Tomorrow!!! I can't wait to see him, because you're right about those curls wink wink, but in true form, your love shines through,

its the man than made this woman stay. 💜💜💜

Thank you for your kind words! I'm blessed to have met such nice people like yourself ;)

oh no my banner doesnt work very well.

Oh, So we are going to get to see the baldy fella? hehe

Yep @jan23com we will add a video probably sunday. 😁

hahaha. Brilliant post! Well, now my reputation appears to proceed me. Interesting how expectations get set. So you're interested in my next 'selfless cause'. Well, I'm currently working on building and facilitating the men's component of a men's and women's heart healing retreat for early April and middle of May. The Virtue Circle is gaining steam and moving forward with a life of its own. The Stewards of Terra Mater were on @pennsif's show last night and did very well. Next weekend I'm going to do a steemit training session for people who want to join steemit community and we will have a meet and greet that same afternoon. I just finished helping our neighbour @harvardhomestead up a roof on her hempcrete tiny home so that she can move it off grid in the next few months. Otherwise, not much going on in my life.

Thank you so much for the compliment! That is some high praise my friend!! :)

And this...

Otherwise, not much going on in my life.

hahaha that's awesome!! Wow you really do have some fantastic things going on; I thought you might ;) I love the sound of "heart healing retreat"...focus on a peaceful positive...so beautiful! The Virtue Circle, Stewards of Terra Mater, steemit training and helping your neighbour build a roof! I might have guessed you'd be so fantastically busy helping others! That is just one of the reasons I had to have you on my list of friends :)

Well, when one lives off grid and is not enslaved to a j.o.b., one has lots of free time. What else can one do but dedicate that time to the service of others. In my opinion, we are so enslaved that we don't have time for helping others, so we pay people to do it. But when we are free, we have more than enough time. if we could all free ourselves, we would have more than enough help to solve the problems of the world. So why not lead by example and show people that it can be done! Thank you so much for all your kind words and for doing the work to bring these kinds of ideas into our consciousness so that it can spread. May Creator bless you my dear spiritual sister!

I wholeheartedly agree!! My husband and I jumped off the hamster wheel several years ago. Once you see another way of living, there is absolutely no turning back :)

Thank you so much for all your kind words and for doing the work to bring these kinds of ideas into our consciousness so that it can spread.

You are most welcome, and that was my plan on along wink wink I noticed a lot of negativity, especially with the flag war at the moment, so I thought, "hmmm what can I do to maybe change that and start a new positive wave going?" I hope it takes off :)

I love how you sign off too; I'm hoping the same for you, but I feel as though the Creator has truly blessed you!

I know that Creator has blessed me and I am so grateful. By rejecting the king and accepting Creator as my master has changed my life and enriched it beyond my wildest expectations. I know the same can be said for others who do the work to reject the king as well. It is scary work but I find Creator protects me as a result. Of that I have no doubt in my mind. I am definitely protected!

I think your initiative is wonderful and I invite you to join The Virtue Circle as you seem to already exemplify the tenant of virtue in your communication. Peace to you my dear sister.

I have never used the terms "king" and "Creator" ( I was raised staunch Catholic (ugh) and spent years trying to unlayer it's damage) , but I feel like I have the same belief system as you now, and I love that I also now have a word, Creator, to express myself with! Thank you for that.

In my wanderings today, I found this link to a fellow who's proposing #shoutoutsaturdays to talk a little bit about those steemians who have impacted our week in a positive way. It's a beautiful thing; one that perhaps more than me is thinking about :)

Thank you for the invitation to The Virtue Circle; please tell me how I can join because it certainly seems like something I would value. Peace to you as well.

I too was rise Catholic and when I was about 18 I rebelled and left the church. Lived many years as an atheist or agnostic. It was not until my recovery that I found my spiritual path but could not bring myself to use those terms. The indigenous people helped me a lot in that area. I've been heavily influence by their teachings as well as my own work and exploration as well. If you are interested in the Virtue Circle, visit my latest post and at the bottom is two links. One is to the post where I introduce the concept and the second is an invitation to the discord channel that was setup so that people can discuss the idea, ask questions, find support, etc. I hope it resonates with you. Peace to you.

Lynn, the beauty of Steemit is that you meet so many people that you have never met before, and I'm am honoured to be on your list of friends.

I know you must have a lot going on at home, yet you are still finding the time to remember friends and spread your love around, this is what we need more on this platform.

Thank you so much @livinguktaiwan; I'm so glad we found each other here ;) Yes, "home" is busy, but Brian and I both love the positive outlet that steemit has become for us.

Well, maybe I've started something here? :) I'm a firm believer in focusing on the positive and hoping others will follow...I'm an eternal optimist for sure!

This is such an awesome idea!

And yes, I started to create a gif for this, then wandered away and got distracted. However, here it is now - you're raining love down on your Steemian friends like...

via GIPHY

awwww I love it!!! That's really how I feel ;)

I'm glad you liked the idea...maybe I started something here !

This was just lovely to read and the fact that you appreciate everyone that has touched your life so much really tugged at my heart.

Aww thank you so much @jusipassetti!! With such a sweet comment, I'm now afffected with getting to know you more ;)

great work my babyloooo

Thanks baby! I love your support, especially when I'm ignoring you, staring at my laptop haha And if I made a list of those important people outside of here, you'd be numero uno on that one, although don't tell anyone, but you're numero uno on this one too;) sshhh

Loving this post!!! So much sincerity and positivity! Thank you @lynncoyle, you know I always wish you and fambam always the best! Thank you for just being YOU! And to think that you took the time just to name every single one who have impacted your life one way or another just shows how amazing you are!

ahh @zord189, that's really sweet to say! It's from my heart buddy!!

What a great list of people! Some of these Steemians I've never heard of and need to get to know better! @lynncoyle1 have you ever considered joining @thealliance? I think you would be a perfect addition to the family! We're a group of about 200 people who support each other here on Steemit and on discord too. If you want more info, let me know. :)

Thanks @snowpea; I'm glad you like it. And yes, this is a wonderful group here!!

I've never heard of @thealliance, but would love to hear more. Actually, I wrote a post this morning, kind of an extension of this one where I list, among other things, the discord groups I belong to and I asked for people to add their favorites there too. If you would be soooo kind as to do that so others see it as well, I would be most thankful :)

Thanks for popping by here, and cheers to a budding new relationship we've got goin' on :)

Great post!
Nice to read that tou really care about the steemians you are following!
Keep it up. I will follow you closely!

Thank you so much @fullcoverbetting (great name by the way ;)!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Isn't great how @abh12345's league brings people together?? :)

Cheers!

It does! But it all depends if you want to open yourself for new online friends and are just in it for the money.
When I did had to choose the name, I was planning to write about sports betting. But for some reason I did never wrote about it and until yesterday I did not want to annoy my followers with it.
But lots can change within a day :(

So true...if someone is in it for the money, making friends isn't high on their list!

Don't tell me you've annoyed someone already with it?? :)

No I did not, didn’t wrote about it yet! But this could change!

Awww, thanks for thinking of me! It's always a pleasure. If someone is reading this and isn't following you, they should!

You are so welcome...and I hope you know that you mean more to me than just a good laugh! How could I not think of you? :) And your last comment is a lovely thing to say!! Thank you :)

We do have a lot of fun!
And I mean it, more people should follow you.
Here's to another great day!

Thank you again...I do look forward to every day on here!

Thanks for adding me to your list @lynncoyle1. I consider it an honour! 😍

"Take the time to let them know you care and that they are important to you." This is very apt for me this week because I've been having internet problems and separate to that there seem to have been problems with Steemit.

on Wednesday when we had the grandkids over I got my priorties wrong and kept coming back to check my computer when my attention would have been better spent on the kids.

Today I was rushing back to catch up on some Steemit stuff when my son rang and I ended up staying in town and meeting him for lunch. I'm so glad I did.

It's too easy for me to get stuck into my online family and miss my offline family or at least not give them my full attention.

I think I need to set some times for being on Steemit and stick to them.

Thankf for the reminder. Hope you and Brian get to the beach again today! 💙

That's pretty sweet of you to consider it an honour...that means a lot to me!!

I'm so glad that this was a gentle reminder to you as well! It is so easy to get caught up in things and forget what is truly important in life: the time we have for others. That's what it's all about I think...online and offline.

Brian and I did get a long walk on the beach again, and then he even had the energy to go out for a couple of hours this evening. It was wonderful! Thank you ;)

Aw so glad you were able to have that time together on the beach and that Brian felt well enough to go out in the evening too. That's wonderful @lynncoyle1.
It's another big family day today so replying to some comments on Steemit now and then will be away until this evening.
Wishing you both a wonder full day. 💙

Thank you @gillianpearce! Enjoy your family; wishing you a wonderful day too <3

WOW! This post really brings people together and how great is it to know that with everything you are going through that you are still thinking of us! I am touched that you thought of me and took the time to as well. @lynncoyle1, you are an amazing person! You truly are <3

Thank you so much @foxyspirit! Brian's illness may take away a lot of things, but I swore I would never let it take away my spirit!

you are an amazing person!

Right back atcha sista!! :)

How beautiful! This Texas girl is very happy to be considered one of your friends! You and Brian are such amazing people. I will never forget the love you two shower on each other. Your story is a daily reminder to always be there 100%. Life throws so many obstacles at you on a daily basis, it can be so hard. Then you get little things like Steemit that turns into a BIG thing. I too have met soo many wonderful people here, definitely like a little family... my little misfit family! <3 I have had the pleasure of meeting most on your list and I gotta tell you, we are very lucky to know YOU! As dark as life can get, you spread so much light and love! For that and so much more, I thank you! Much love and many hugs as always!

What a really sweet reply @smylie2005!! I'm glad that there seems to be a lot of good coming out of me and Brian's bad ! And yes, who knew that steemit would offer all of this?!! I'm so happy to hear that

we are very lucky to know YOU! As dark as life can get, you spread so much light and love!

You make my heart smile ;)

I have to say that I too have met some amazing folks here but there always are those few genuine people that really stand out. You being one of them on my list. I can't help but have this magnetic pull to all of your post and I love seeing your comments pop up all over Steemit because I know they are truly from the heart. You are an absolutely wonder asset to Steemit. I haven't had the pleasure to meet everyone on that list yet but the ones that I have, are all genuine, wonderful and amazing Steemians too!

wow @magicalmoonlight, that is a very very lovely response! I really do try to genuinely connect with people here with all of my commenting, so it's so wonderful for you to notice that

they are truly from the heart

This whole list of people in my eyes are pretty awesome, as are you, so I encourage you to have the pleasure of meeting the rest of them;)

this post lit up my heart! You are really a wonderful soul @lynncoyle1 :-D Namaste my friend <3 <3

Thank you so much for a great response @amariespeaks!! If I can "light up your heart", or anyone's for that matter here, well...that's the makings of a pretty spectacular day!

<3 right back atcha!!

Hello @lynncoyle1! I'm so happy I got connected with you and Brian. You two are the sweetest and most inspiring couple. And newbieresteemday has been so strong because of people like you. I haven't been active lately. Kinda down, was even hesitating doing my Minnow Fridays but seeing this encouraged me too. I guess that's one thing that happens when we're emotionally invested. It can hurt us to. But I'm glad there are good people like you here. Keeps me going. :)

Thanks for your comment about Brian and I; that is very sweet of you to say! And I'm glad this post encouraged you to continue here, but @wanderlass, your comment here makes me sad,

It can hurt us to

Is there anything I can do to help you? Or if you just want to talk about something, my Discord is lynncoyle1#4299. Send me a friend request and we can chat :) I hope you are ok my friend!

Thanks @lynncoyle1 I'm okay..I guess it's part of being in Steemit to feel down sometimes because we interact a lot with other people.

Well if I hear that anyone is messin' with my friend @wanderlass, they'll have me to deal with !!!

Awww that's so sweet of you @lynncoyle1. They'll be afraid hehe. :D

Newbies, pay attention! This is an important 'must Read' post. Most of those names are too. I won't say all, because in my short time I've not visited all. But all those I've visited are all worthwhile returning to. So, any of you out there that do actually read my posts, this Resteemed on my blogline, is for you. Check out all these name@'s. Keep on keeping on. 😇

Thank you so much @simon62! I appreciate your excitement and your idea to share this with others so they get to know everyone here as well:) Cheers!

It's a cool post @lynncoyle and needed to be put out there. I see one of the newbie teams also resteemed so that's great. I don't have ready access all the time. There is a lot of dead ground around. Also I am not at a desk having no cpu, but do everything one character after another meaning only one finger-tip, not typing 😂 A bit slow, but that keeps my grammar together (hopefully) and also slows me enough to think between the lines. Always good in today's rush. I'll often have a gardening or cooking show on in the background too so my attention can get split which uses time also. Now I have more addresses to check out which is good, as sometimes, trying to catch a good post as 'created' wizzes by can be difficult, and on a phone if I look at one, often returning to list takes me back to 2 seconds ago, so scrolling begins again, looking for that view one saw and couldn't catch 😆. I looked at a robots driver's line, but discovered that although the copy/paste robot had made thousands $, the owner hadn't put up more than two posts in eight weeks. 😯 So please excuse my uncertain attitude to many long term steemians, as they do not talk of these difficult challenges very often, and even though at one level I don't really care that much, it is a bit much when 'they' whomever, can reduce my reputation, and at same time neither blog nor discuss anything, but make $, And call me names, whilst my followers still increase. Duh or Doh, or whatever the cartoon characters say these days. I have enough reputation at my home and location, to not give a hoot for those internet bullies, but I really dislike idiot's such as they bringing the community of steemit into disrepute, because of their obnoxious bullying. Maybe I'm wrong, but from the comments to my line, I don't think so. Anyway, brilliant post of yours. I'm very glad to put it up, and Thank-you for writing such.
May the blessings be.

Well thank you again then! I was an English teacher in Canada for years, and truthfully, your English is really pretty good. Of course there's some errors, but the beauty of it is that native English speakers can totally see past that and understand what you are saying, instead of focusing on grammar etc.

I just ran across this post where @crazybgadventure is doing something like my post every Saturday with a tag #shoutoutsaturdays, encouraging everyone to do the same! Seems like an awesome idea to me:)

Cheers :)

Congratulations you have been resteemed as part of #newbieresteemday's top posts for the day! We invite you to use our tag to connect with more of our members. To learn more: Come Join Us!!! (Newbie Resteem Initiative)

Thanks @newbieresteemday!! I really do appreciate the resteem ;)

That's quite the collection of Steemians you have there. It's amazing how few of them I've actually ran across until now.

Thank you for the recognition, though I feel like I'm not nearly as deserving as the rest. I kind of show up and leave rather than hanging around chatting for any great length of time.

As for the comics—I'm not writing any right now. Before I started on Steemit, though, I was developing an all girl superhero team called Misses. I hope to get back to it at some point. Problem is, it apparently costs money to get people to draw comic book pages. Whodathought? :)

Well @glenalbrethsen, you do not give yourself enough credit!! Your comments are always so bang on; you get to the heart of the matter right away and always leave such a thought provoking comment, there's really no need for

hanging around chatting for any great length of time.

The "length" of all the chatting on steemit has no bearing on the poignancy and relevance of a comment, and you manage to do both very well. Just leave all the "hanging around" to people like me and @themanwithnoname! He and I can then chat 'crazy talk' while you leave the good stuff haha

A girl superhero team called Misses? Any chance of creating a character for me? I did have a Wonder Woman lunch box that my teenage sons bought for me that I used while I was a teacher, if that sways you at all haha

Well, so how authentic would you want the character to be? (as in how much of you would you like to be a part of the character, including name, backstory, personality, etc.) And do you want abilities? If so, what kind? I have many of the main characters already figured out, but there's literally dozens of others that could use more than a superhero code name. :)

Well I must be able to fly, and I'd like a raven spirit animal...Those are my only real requests ;) But the rest, I'll leave up to you...I'd be curious to see what you would "make" me from the little bits that you know about me.

This is fun!! Thank you @glenalbrethsen ;)

Okay, well, that at least gives me something to go on power-wise. MISSES are all teenage girls between the ages of 16-18 so it will a younger version of you. I'll have to figure out how to incorporate the flying and the raven spirit animal. Each girl's abilities is reflected in their names, which all start with MISS. And the miss part is actually a play on words, too, so that's where the trick of it comes in.

Since it's all the backburner pending what happens here, it could be a while before I come up with something, but I won't let more than a few weeks pass before I figure it out. Maybe sooner. :)

What a wonderful tribute to #steemitbloggers and how close we become to each other in there! Kudos for a great post and thank you for sharing it with us! 😊

Oh thank you so much @thekittygirl :) I appreciate that! It's amazing, right??!! Who knew that could actually happen here :)

That's such a sweet post! And it's true that you never know how a positive word can affect someone :)

Thank you so much! I'm glad you thought so ;)

And you're right; online and in the real world...we have absolutely no idea how our actions will affect someone. That's why kindness and consideration is always so important;)

Thanks for stopping by!

It's wonderful to have people around who care about you.

yes it is ;)

lovely

Thank you ;) I wish you'd been a little more specific about what you found so "lovely"!

lol I am glad you stopped before you got to my name, lolol

I'm sorry, but I don't quite get what's so funny?

Irish humour.

Now I get it ;)

Thanks for the lovely mention lynn! I <3 you too :D

You are most welcome @spiritualmax :)
