What I do with it is my choice instantly. You see, this bum rather keep his tip jar in the wallet. Some of you unsung hero wannabes think it's ok to knock over people's tip jar and call it a fair redistribution of wealth while also controlling the majority of those "fair redistribution".
The benefits of high stakes.
Stake up people. It's a warzone out here. Question the wrong guy and get permanent DV.
snaps aren't really about rewards-pool to begin with (no one votes heavily on snaps). But if people are willing to LIE (which is what i'm essentially saying is a misuse of a hashtag) then that means their reputation should reflect their willingness to lie.
I think it's awesome if people are willing to burn or decline being part of the reward pool... as long as they also focus on being a reliable source of information that people want to hear from. You can hold your own destiny if you hold the trust/ear of others.

Like it or not, downvotes are an important part of the ecosystem. They're likely often misused, yet the original purpose is to moderate the rewards.
I often receive them on my top paid posts, and I do not complain about that. Cutting four dollars form 80 ain't that bad.
I've seen all the arguments about downvotes. We are free to do what we want on Hive, but may be judged by others for it. I've been involved in some anti-abuse efforts. That has brought retaliation, but it wasn't personal from me. The community decides on our rewards.
Downvotes are just a tool, and it's on every one of us how (and if) we use them. They also show how mature the community is, though.

Downvoting is such a delicate subject. Downvotes to reduce rewards for 'overrated content' is often not taken kindly by the authors.
I do sometimes see content that I think is over rewarded (mostly by autovotes), but I'm hesitant to do so.

Downvoting someone could make an author angry and you can get a downvote on all your post in return.
And overrewarded posts often are from Hivers with large stakes, so that could hurt a lot.
I don't want to risk this for my account which I have built up in years.

You should actually have an anonymous downvote option or something.
Generaly speaking, my best rated posts are those that I spent hours with, so I don't feel bad about getting these rewards :) It is true, though, that some less effort posts by reputed people get same rewards time to time.
You don't have to feel bad for the rewards. It is what other people give you.
But it can be frustrating for new Hivers that also put a lot of effort in their posts and hardly see any rewards on their posts.
I found it very disappointing not receiving rewards nor replies.
It's not just a creative platform, Hive is also a social network. That networking is a good portion of your success, and newbies have to establish themselves to have some interactions. We all have done so.

Yes, retalitation is a threat that discourages people from downvoting. Perhaps curating initiatives could be used for such semi-anonymous downvotes on over-rated content (however subjective this is).

Smooth is doing well with this thing, was downvoted many times but I trust his judgement for doing so.
Well, if I downvote you will my full voting power, you lose almost a dollar of your reward. Or, in other way, this dollar is distributed among other upvoted authors, it doesn't stay in the reward pool.
If there's a shitpost of like two sentences only with $100 payout, I'd say downvoting it is fair. It shouldn't get the upvotes in the first place, though - If people paid their due diligence to upvoting, there would likely be less place for downvoting.
I don't complain when my post drop few dollars, and still generate like 80. I'd be pissed if somebody shot down a post I spent few hours with to $3 though :)

I thought the same thing, if any of my posts reached that amount I wouldn't mind having a bit cut off to balance it out. I believe that DV should exist to be a way of balancing and protecting us against the abuse of some users.

I don't usually DV, but I have done it a few times on posts that I saw were being abused. I usually analyze a post with DV and try to understand what happened, when I see that it really was abuse I consider doing a DV.

The rewards that are removed from posts go to trending and popular post maybe all of it or some of it, mayhaps some of it to the DHF which is controlled by very few very high stakes profiles, which also patrol the trending and receive a portion of that too.
The rewards "removed" by downvotes stay in the Rewards Pool, and then are distributed among all upvoted authors and their curators.
The higher stake you have, the more power you have - it's called Hive Power for a reason.
btw, the DHF has loads of funds, we spend only a small portion of it.

I sold at 35 assuming we'll see some profit taking and the candle will retrace a bit. But I'll buy back in if it does. 60% was too much of a move for me to pass up.
I'd be surprised if the price holds after a 60% move. But it depends on how long term you want to hold, 33c isn't exactly a high price, just depends on how long you might want to wait to see it again; also depends on how much you want to sell, maybe don't sell everything at once
i think this is the worst thing about crypto, you see a price rise and you sell some and then you see it rise more. and then you are like... shit, should've waited longer
Haha yeah, it's always capable of screwing you over somehow. I try to not care too much if I see a big candle and sell at the top of it, even if it's just a fraction of what I hold to take some profit. Long term it'll go up more, but short term profit taking is fine too.

Well ...50m in market cap does not mean someone actually bought that much. With a small cap token like HIVE the amount was way smaller and still raised the price quite a bit.
