Binance to stop tokenization of stocks. I wonder if this was the reason why they got hit so hard. The exchanges did not want Binance taking a piece of their pie.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I wonder if this was the reason why they got hit so hard.

I think the fact they are the largest crypto exchange is the reason for the target. This is a way to reign in the crypto market if I had to guess.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Very true. I think they were trying to remove money away from the crypto exchanges and move them back to the banks/economy since they allowed funds to be withdrawed but not deposited.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Could be a focus point, they were effectively providing a pegged security. Why trade in stocks on the stock market when you can do it quicker and easier on Binance.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea but I think it ends up being harder for people to track the number of stocks they have as well. For all we know, Binance might of bought printed a bunch of the tokens but not bought the underlying stock.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is true which would have caused them issues. They probably just pegged it so there was nothing to protect investors.

I mean smart move on their end, anyone could do it. I could say to you - that stock is worth $5 don't buy from them come to me and I will give you this piece of paper to say you own that stock but from me.

Now I never have the stock and I become reliant on others buying in. Also drawing on other income to supplement the people that increase in false value. But that never really happens. Usually we lose lol

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well, when you think about it, crypto was basically using these exchanges own "rules" (for lack of a better word) against them. These banks and market makers have manipulated the prices of things for decades with their paper. Gold, silver, oil, you name it, these banks have created massive supplies by using futures, leverage, and options to take the prices where they want them. By creating "tokenized" versions of the stocks, the crypto world was able to do the same thing back at them. Obviously somebody didn't like not being in control of the manipulation....

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Same old.

Regulators just pushing people to unregulated, or DEX based options.

Synthetic stocks aren't going away.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Wall Street paid government regulation agencies and their affiliates are doing to CZ and Binance what they have been doing to Elon and Tesla; looks like to me!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

#Stablecoins are getting a lot of attention from Central Banks and regulators. We will see how this unfolds. I have a feeling they are going to have to take them out.

It could make the Hive Backed Dollar even more important.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

If they are planning to create CBDC then the stablecoins are just a hinderance.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I agree, if the HBD stabilization process works and there is only slight fluctuation to the $1 unit value. It will be great for the Hive platform. It might even pump up the value of hive and other HE tokens along with it since there will be more users of the platform.

An alternative (and free) way to start playing Axie Infinity, if interested:

https://www.publish0x.com/axie-infinity-research-and-journey/playing-axie-infinity-for-free-scholarships-xvywldy

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea it seems like people can just grab a scholarship so long as they are willing to watch the streams.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It is the only way I could afford to play. I could sell my entire collection of @splinterlands cards and still would not have enough to get started with that AXIE-INFINITY game!!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'm in the same boat Sarge. But I'd have to sell my Cryptomonkeys and even if I did I wouldn't come close to being able to buy three of the damn things!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's interesting... I'm considering setting up a scholarship myself... I don't have time or interest to play that, but could be a nice investment

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I could easily make the time, but I'm not so sure I'd even enjoy playing the game. But if the income is as good as they say, I might just apply myself and the minute I could make enough to buy three Axies of my own, I'd bolt from the scholarship and keep all the income for my sole benefit.

LeoFinance SEO Tip:

  • If you're publishing via the leofinance.io front-end, then when internally linking to other articles, please use the leofinance.io version (not the peakd version).
    • Even some of the top authors and top rewarded LEO posts don't do this.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Financial conditions seem tight based on some of the latest surveys. It seems like future spending might be prime to collapse and with it, our economy.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

When all those parents get the child care credits in their accounts which started this week, I don't see them saving all of that money. They will go out and buy lots of stuff.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well I do think they will use the money but as of right now, I think that is a one-time thing and I don't think the monthly version has been passed yet. However if prices are considered too high, people will refuse to buy and that is the biggest issue.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

70% is a high number, which is a big reason to worry. Is a price reduction going to be a solution to this or more money pumped into the system??🤔

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well I think it has more to do with the money you are getting from wages or from benefits isn't going up fast enough compared to the prices. So overtime, people will buy less.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yep.

And people think this inflation thing is going to last. No way. The economy is going to slow which is a problem on many levels.

It is far from strong.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yup, it's going to come crashing like 1919 with the Wall St Crash after the war and Spanish Flu.

But recovery wasn't too bad with the roaring 20s that came out. Hopefully I'm not too old to be screwed hard by the recession

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Recovery wasn't bad over a century ago because interference in the economy was minimal to non-existent.

A contagion hit the economy, the economy ailed for a while, then the contagion was allowed to be flushed out. After the contagion was flushed out, the economy was on the road to recovery.

That was the Depression on 1920 (1919-1921), the Forgotten Depression. At this time, the FED was about to start 2nd grade; its influence was minimal, and it was nothing like the FED we know today.

This economic depression was also the last one allowed to fix itself on its own. It sucked for everyone, sure, but it only lasted 2 years tops. A few years later came the Great Depression we hear about all the time.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Not too sure if it happened that way, they still has masks and isolation and quarantine. Phili denied it and had 750 deaths per 100k people.

By the 4th wave it was weakened and then a vaccine was made (10yrs later) Things might have been a little different then to now.

Coming out of a war most the world's population of men was massively reduced and no one to work so governments invested in tech and for the first time in history machines replaced workers. People started building roads and cars became available to people.

It was pretty much the birth of capitalism and the private citizen.

Naturally what goes up must come down.

By contagion I didn't mean the Spanish Flu; I meant economic or monetary factors. An economy needs to flush out unproductive investments and assets, and unfortunately that means pain for most people.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I would go as far as to say it was caused due to the lack of government involvement, it is what cryptocurrancy is now.

https://www.history.com/topics/great-depression/great-depression-history

Compared to how economic downturns are handled today ("recessions" rather than "panics" or "depressions"), the Great Depression of 1929 didn't have as much interference. Compare it to its predecessor of 1920, though, and it's a different story.

The 1929 Depression was bound to happen. The question is, did it have to last longer than 2 or 3 years?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

...and the Roaring 20s was followed by another depression which was caused by a lot of the same things we are seeing today (my foster parents lived through it and I grew up with the stories).

The drought and subsequent fires in the western part of the United States will have a great effect on food prices here in about a year or so. That combined with other things? Not looking good for the home team in the short-term. Hence; I say...

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Spot on, wall St is regulated but cryptocurrancy exchanges are not. Similarly it is occuring now.

Where did all that stimulus go?

https://www.history.com/topics/great-depression/great-depression-history

Is it time to demand a search function on Leofinance? I'm having a hard time finding old articles I want to revisit to learn stuff. There were some great NFT articles and I want to learn about this Belt thing. I'm feeling a little frustrated by the lack of a search function.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yep, internal search on Hive is horrendous.

PeakD is terrible too.

If we're trying to encourage evergreen content, search to be able to update old URLs will become very important.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

No doubts and I agree with your thinking. I hope Khal can analyze this with care and attention.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I generally just use Presearch or Google to find the articles but yes I would like a search function.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I get that but I was talking about Leo articles I had read in the past. What you are doing is leaving leofinance to search for information elsewhere. Imagine if users were using a search function on Leofinance to search leo articles before they left to search on presearch or google. That would be good for us.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

We want to do everything possible to keep visitors on site. If I need to find an old article, I have to leave and go to Google. I also have copies of all of my articles offline in case I need to find something on my own.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It really matters for seo too. Time on site and bounce rate help build authority.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That would be good for us.

It's definitely going to make things more easier for users.

We might be expecting something like that maybe in the next update. Peakd jas something like that too recently and I think we'll have that here on Leo in no time

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Presearch here. I avoid the other one as much as possible.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I use presearch as well but according to what I heard, the way articles are written help the most. Other stuff may help but doesn't exactly guarantee anything.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Now that people like us (you, me, and evveryone else at Leo Market Talk, plus LeoFinance) know basic techniques of SEO, we can get our posts to rank higher no matter what search engine we use. Along the way we'll write better articles which also take advantage of SEO tecniques.

(I'm guessing that SEO exists for video and audio as well, although I would imagine SEO to be done a bit differently for multimedia content.)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Since the launch of Leofinance.io I have been questioning this. It was supposed to be and it would be of great help.

Here's another tip for you, if you've found any article similar to what you're looking for, such as about the Belt, go to the tag below the post and you're sure to find many similar ones. That's how I do it when I want to find something specific. Go to the #belt tag and be happy :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is also why the tag pages are such important assets for leofinance.io and we should be doing more with them.

While it's been normalised on Hive to just use tags to 'get free extra tokens', authors should take more time to properly tag the topics of their posts.

How limited the #belt and #beltfi tags are shows how nobody cares.

Search the useless (in terms of actual SEO value) #pob tag and everyone chucks it on.

Short term profit vs adding real value.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Priority should be the SEO tags for any post. After that, then include the token tags.

Maybe it's time for the 10 tag limit to we rescinded?

While posting using various front ends, I noticed a quirk:

  • some front-ends let you use tags with 2+ dashes, but others restrict your tags to those using 1 or 0 dashes.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I agree with what you said, tags are a very important feature but in certain matters this tool is being used more to gain extra tokens.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Sometimes I use either Presearch.org, Hivewhat.com, or Hivesearcher.com to locate posts on Hive. All use Google search operators, so that helps a bit. Still, it surprises me that similar search functionality wasn't designed into the social interfaces from the start. Not even using the Google command syntax, just doing searches by name, date, words, etc.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I heard someone saying on discord that searching on the blockchain is kind of a pain in the ass. I have no technical knowledge of blockchain stuff so I can't say if that's accurate thou

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

There have been several articles on Belt posted witihin the past two days (not pushing it but I wrote one). These should be easy for you to find.

Brain Chip Implants to create Superhumans? A very interesting question as we start moving towards a more digital world.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

biohacking has been around forever. I think we will move towards integration with rfid and passive chips before we do brain implants on the mass scale.

These have been spoken about for years, what would be the benefit? In the same theme as yesterday and my post today. Imagine having your body hacked by a Quantum computer 🤣

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This would create two groups: The augumented ans the naturals. The prospect of the latter being left behind, might ensure that the majority would take the implant.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think as services move towards being part of the augmented world, the other side will naturally move over because you will be missing out too much from not being part of the network.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It's such an exciting news to read about. I think I might lookup the monkeys video online.

This is a welcome development but that we all have to be careful when it comes to stuffs like this.

Hope there won't be an hidden info we are not hearing about like it happened with the vaccine

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The biggest issue is that it tends to be in control of the big tech corporations...and I don't exactly trust them.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Same here. It'll take more time to trust any private/public company due to their ways of putting themselves first and customers last.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think it is where we are heading. Our history is that we tend to merge with out #technology. It keeps getting closer to us and soon it will be in us.

So the BCI makes sense. If we are connected all the time with our brains, it does bring up interesting possibilities. However, I do not want that being controlled by some corporation.

There is a show I have been watching off and on on Amazon.com called, The Feed. Kind of like this conversation here where everybody is neurologically linked to a futuristic Internet.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I watched season 1 and loved it. Don't know if/when they will produce a season 2.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

However will this BCI network be a centralized network or a decentralized network? If it is centralized then they can just kick people out.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I had already heard that some tech firms in California issued chips to employees that are put under their skin around the wrist area for security purposes to enter into secure areas within their office building and research area.

I don't think I could ever volunteer to get an implant.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The way things are going, we won't be asked to volunteer....

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I don't think I could ever volunteer to get an implant.

Same here

I'd rather be unemployed than turning into some lab experiment robot.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is where a decenralized economy is crucial. It's also where it's vital that we each become our own business owners: it's businesses which get the privileges and rewards, and many small businesses consist of just 1 person or 2 people. It's amazing how different life becomes when we live it as business owners.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I remember seeing that as well but I don't think it really took off. I don't think I would accept the implant right now.

If anyone wants to add sections that aren't in the template, just create your post including a link to the template and I'll add it.

Dane:

THORChain Pros and Cons is finished and published. Feel free to edit as you see fit. As always, let me know if you need me to make any changes on my end.

Apparently I am exceptionally motivated (for some unknown reason) today.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend. It's time for me to pour a neat bourbon and relax.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks for doing those THORChain pros and cons.

Can I just ask you not to quote and link to rival guides for example like you have to that coinspeaker guide?

Linking to their main project is good, but taking content from and giving a link to rival content isn't.

If you need content from those pages, just reword it into your own words.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Done.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Legend for editing :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That is your title my friend!!!!

LOL!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

OK. I'm finally feeling much better and ready to get back to it.

I will cover:

  • How does Thorchain work for DeFi; and
  • Thorchain Pros and Cons.

I'm pretty sure that when I research pros and cons I'll come up with enough information to cover the section on Should I buy Thorchain in 2021, but if someone else wants that one go ahead.

If all goes according to plan you should have both these subsections by Monday night (my time Dane!)

Question. If Elon musk's manipulation can destroy the crypto market. How come crypto can be trusted to run the decentralized one world govt? Isn't that disaster waiting to happen if we trust crypto this much blindly?

If Elon musk's manipulation can destroy the crypto market.

Because it isnt the case. The idea that Musk manipulated the crypto market is bullshit. That is laziness on the part of people espousing crap online.

They dont look at the futures market which have a lot more impact than Musk's tweets.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

People may get into cryptocurrency because of Musk, but once they are in they learn enough not to depend on him for recommendations. His flip-flop on Bitcoin and its energy-intensive mining operations proved that he cannot be trusted. Not that he doesn't know what he's talking about, but his motives are his own.

Should a one-world government come to pass-- and events in 2020 were an accelerant toward that goal-- we can forget about BTC, ETH, HIVE, DOGE, even SAFEMOON. We'll be allowed to use any digital currency we want as long as it is the one-world government digital currency (just like with Ford automobiles mor than a century ago).

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Do you trust one world govt idea? I dont considering china would have upper hand and not listening to them would mean death with covid type of virus for that nation or people.

Although I see the appeal of a one-world government (and for a long time I had been in favor of one), I think a one-world government would be a mistake.

Today (but easier in the past) it's possible to flee an oppressive government either for asylum or to begin a new life. With a one-world government, that option is gone-- where could you go? Then there is the tendency of government to grow and gain more control at the expense of the people within its boundaries. And if government grows, it has to be funded somehow; usually it's with increased taxes.

If our countries are moving toward a surveillance society now, imagine how much worse it will be under one-world government rule. I don't see such a place permitting questioning of anything (even if you decide to go along), never mind any form of dissent.

Decentralized systems of government (right down to family units and even individuals) are needed as much for our own protection as to keep governments in check as they must be.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Exactly, world govt would be tyranical state. Especially with China and Russia having bigger stake in that. This is one reason I don't want decentralization and crypto replacing the local currency either. Especially for asian like me, if current way the govt function can make life like this imagine world govt in the hands of china would be disaster. As much as I like crypto if it leads to world govt I hope it fails.

Local currency is government currency. Decentralization won't replace it as long as government runs things.

Can crypto and other decentralized money be used in a local economy? Yes. Will it replace local currency? Not if government can help it.

Governments are loathe to give up any control or advantage. so don't expect crypto and other deccentralized money to replace local money any time soon.

Delta virus will extend unemployment benefits? It looks like they are trying any reason they can to extend the benefits.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

They are going to have to. The employment situation sucks an the economy is looking like it will only weaken.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea the job market is definitely not looking good if this happens.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The job market isnt looking good regardless. This would only add to it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Just wish all the covid news ends someday. Don't really know how we got here. Seems like we are all just going to try to survive.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The media and government will continue to milk it as much as possible. I expect more news about it for the next few years.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Seems more like their lives just got better due to the covid.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I am a little confused on why they would want to extend the unemployment benefits. I thought the majority of the ones getting the virus now are the unvaccinated with only a few breakthrough cases.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

There are breakouts in California and other places that aren't making the local news. You have to read the national news or actually seek out the information. Many people here think we're right back to normal and have removed their masks completely. None of them are considering the Delta or Lamda variants.

Here’s what you need to know about the lambda Covid variant

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This will all be over soon. Novavax is being further developed and rolled out with a 90% success rate against all known strains. It will be like the Spanish Flu 4 years and then disappeared.

Just not sure how the globalised world today VS back then will be different. Fortunately we don't have the same death rates as the 1900s.

I think the world handled it quite well.

Will #Bitcoin hold $30K?

What are your thoughts?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I don't think it'll hold it that much, we might see a downward pull up to 25k.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It would be tragic, but it won't be the end of the world.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Definitely not going to be the end oh the world.

It's just a matter of time before things gets better. Am sure most of us is fully prepared for this moment.

#winterishere

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's right my friend, better days will come.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well I think its 50/50 at this point. If it doesn't hold 30k, I expect it to go down to 20k.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well we're down, in the crypto market anything can happen. I expect BTC to stay at $30k but maybe the downward pressure will be quite strong.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think it will not drop below $30k, I believe there is a resistance level just below $30k. We are in an accumulation/consolidation stage. Once the consolidation is complete, watch out a surge will occur when everyone is least expecting it.

People using dollar-cost averaging (currency-cost averaging?) will win big under these conditions, even if the amounts invested frequently and often are trivial. It all adds up.

Square wants to use Bitcoin to enter the Defi space. I don't think I see many Defi networks on BTC because most of them tend to be on ETH, Polygon and BSC.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

There are no smart contracts on Bitcoin that is why you dont see any DeFi on there.

It is one of the things holding Hive back at this moment.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That makes me question how much research Square did since BTC doesn't have smart contracts. Are they planning to do it on a second layer network?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I would say it is a second layer although there is talk of it being added.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Can't smart contracts be used on Bitcoin's Lightning Network and be relatively easily adapted to DeFi usage?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Good night my friends!

This hype for the Axie Infinity game came to me today, some friends I have in a community on Telegram were talking about it and out of curiosity I asked a few things and it didn't take me long to realize that it really is an interesting game, but I know what made me not being interested in the past...

The fact is that the game is part of the ETH ecosystem and as you know, I practically do not get involved in anything that is Ethereum. The high rates speak for themselves.

I'm watching some videos to better understand the mechanics of the game and I was wondering if there is anyone here who already plays Axie. There is somebody?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

We have @axie-buzz community on Hive. You can interact with their members. They a discord channel too!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Axie Infinity communities. That would be cool.I wonder if the @axie-buzz can get really big. Imagine if it became one of the larger

Did they develop a token for it?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I don't think they have a Token for it. But it's a great idea to a hive engine token to reward content related to the game. We can onboard so many existing players and become their choice of social network.

They are running some sort of scholarship program to help new players.

I made a mistake in my above comment. It's actually @axiebuzz.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes, we plan on making our own custom interface with its respective token but we'll first work on building a strong and vibrant community and onboarding them to Hive before anything else.

When we gain enough traction, we'll launch an interface/token.

And yes, we do believe that we can grow into the largest Axie community in the metaverse.

And yes, we do believe that we can grow into the largest Axie community in the metaverse.

This is a terrific goal. Let's all work together to do what we can to aid in that effort. We want to bring more people to Leofinance and Hive organically.

How can we assist in this effort? Feel free to drop some article links in here that you feel worthy and we will do our best to promote then with the members in here.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's one of our main goals although we may not be so vocal about it in our articles/tweets not to seem overly pushy. We're walking a fine line on social to try and balance out Hive/Axie messaging in order to maximize our conversion rates.

Really think we got a shot at making it here. Just check out our stats after a little more than 2 weeks on twitter.
image.png

As for assistance, would like to know what are the estimated costs for making a custom interface/token. We're aware that it's fairly easy for a decent dev to do but have no clue about the costs.

As for promo, our introduction article is a perfect fit if you want to spread the word a little.

Cool, I didn't know and thanks for letting me know.

Lastly, Tether’s history of blacklisting addresses, freezing funds, and complying with regulatory pressures pose remarkable censorship risks. In 2020 alone, 84 addresses have been blacklisted, meaning the funds held by these wallets are completely unusable.

I would say its good but I think having more stable coins but with a more diverse share is better overall incase one is impacted.

Do you think Lightning Network is the most important project for the most important asset in all of blockchain? It is the biggest contributor to worldwide Bitcoin adoption.

What is The Lightning Network?

The “layer 2” protocol that settles transactions “off-chain,” through a growing network of user-hosted channels & nodes, exponentially cutting down the time & fees to send bitcoin.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well it is the most important for BTC if it wants to get off the ground. Right now the main network is hard to change and give it the appeal people want.

Yes. Layer 2 solutions could be the Key. Bitcoin should be used as a currency for mass adoption.

It will be interesting to see when either @amr008 or @dalz pull the numbers. There was about 500K based upon dalz's last report.

We will see if more finds it way.

I saw it last night but it dropped back down to 7% so is the 10% kind of agreed upon now?
