Hello everyone, my beautiful hive naija people, it's another beautiful weekend and we are so happy to have you here once again to make the engagement fun as always. It's so sad that for some weeks now the engagement hasn't been as it used to be and we are really thinking of how to revive the hangout and I think it's not out of place to discuss about how to do it better for this weekend. I know it's not always easy to be consistent here but I do think that there may be something we are not getting right and it is always wise to put heads together.
OBJECTIVE
As we all know, the Hive Naija Weekend Engagement is focused on promoting the togetherness of the Nigeria brethren together through engagement and it's also now concerned of the well being of each and everyone who is part of the engagement. This account was opened to make the engagement more personal and official you can find the INTRODUCTION POST to read more about the purpose and aim of this new account and also do well to follow the account so as to know when a post is made.

We had over 200+ comments last weekend, it was so nice seeing a lot of people who engaged and sharing their thoughts and ideas with us, I want to appreciate you all for the consistency, quality engagement and your efforts, let's keep them coming ya all. Special thanks to everyone who makes this hang out possible.

I will drop a topic every Friday (Today's topic is below), share your thoughts on the matter, reply to someone else opinion, and interrogate the opinion if you like. Keep the discussion on. If you don't have anything to say about the topic. Just reply to someone else's comment.

DOING IT BETTER
Last weekend, we discussed about the Sam.hangout and different ways we think we could do better and all and we were able to get really beautiful suggestions from most of us, so today, we are going to be discussing about some of the suggestions we had and ways to do it better.
So we want to know...
- HOW LONG DO YOU THINK THE HANGOUT SHOULD LAST FOR?
- WHAT GAMES DO YOU THINK WE CAN HAVE HERE ON THE HANGOUT ONCE IN A WHILE?
Remember, the aim of the hangout is to bring Nigerians together so make sure you have this in mind when responding to the questions. And feel free to add even more to it if you have any. HOW LONG SHOULD THE HANGOUT LASTS FOR???This is a very beautiful question boss and as very active commenter once back, i think its best to reduce the hangout to 50 hours and that means two days depending on the time you posted the hangout, the moment you post the hangout, 50 hours should start counting and then once its up, no more going forth, i think you can be shifting the hangout to friday night around 10 PM then to sunday 12 pm is quite good...
This is better because the engagement gets to a certain level where we finish talking about the hangout topic and some people like me gets busy with somethings else or after talking about the topic we move to other topics under the topics to keep it going and i think its cool and nice, not everyone will be chanced to comment now because this is friday, some are at work right now but by 10 pm this night, they will be back from work and after dinner, they will join us or probably tomorrow as saturday they will join us till sunday mid night ....
We that are jobless apart from hive lol will keep the hangout going on friday night 10 pm and then others can join us the next day...

If this should be 50 hours as you have said, then the deadline should be 12am on Monday and not Sunday again. Friday (10pm) to Sat (10pm) is 24hrs. Then on Sunday (10pm) is 48hrs, then the remaining 2 hours would be on a Monday morning then. Is that what you mean?
Even that 10pm, many Nigerians would have slept or would be going to bed, like myself. Perhaps something like from 5pm for the posting hour would be good. By then, many hive Naija users would be available.
Then the games are nice idea. This would even sprout out more engagement and interaction.

Okay, I wouldn't want to go too long with that.
I think the hangout time is already okay to bring more people to engage and it's enough time too. But, if there should be a change, perhaps extending the posting of the hangout till later in the evening on Friday when there would be people online then, knowing fully well that some would have returned from work or wherever they go and then, come online to do something. Then, a specified time on Sunday as the deadline which you then move to announce the winners later.
About the games... I am thinking of something which might be interesting...
Okay, this is how it will go...
You ask the members to visit a particular community on Hive which you would specify, pick a post and read through. Come back to the comment section and drop a summary of the post in not less than 150 words. Others would reply to the comment of someone before dropping theirs. They might reply to more than one comment from a user if they choose to, but they should remember, engagement is the key.

Following the great ideas shared by great thinkers here, I am of the view that topical issues are being discussed on the hangout. The topics could be organized in such a way that entries could be made as posts and a panel of judges weigh the entries and enlist winners.
Kind of Games That Could...
Then on Saturday, maybe via discord, questions and answer game where rewards are distributed could be organized. That will be a selling point for the hangout to attract more participants.
In all, for the game, two hours max should be enough. A time should be set and a community be created on discord or another medium as deem for by the organizers for participants to converge to compete.
As said above, the post-writing part of this makes every hand be on deck. Every writer brings to the fore his or her POV on the discussion.
With these, the hangout takes another shape and becomes something more serious where ideas are shared or even birthed.
If the topics are made as post, are we still going to discuss it in hangout here ? Or after the hangout, we write a post on it?
Well, if there is a discord server for us...it will be nice for the game

Wow ...here comes another weekend with my fellow Nigerians. This place has been buzzing...I am seeing lots of changes already, everywhere so lively again and I guess the last weekend topic played a good role on today so far... interesting
Let's look into the question of the week.
Just as I have commented on @princessbusayo and @quduus1 entries, I love it the way it's been but just a little adjustment. If we can shift the engagement to a specific time in the evening, let's say between 5-6pm , it will be nice. After all, party 🎉🥳 like this is always evening something when people must have done one or two things for the day. Like me now, I had to lay aside other things I was doing to be here ..atimes it's just difficult and I would miss being here. So from Friday evening to same Sunday by 11:59 pm is cool by me and I guess for many as well.
Okay once in a while we can choose a random question game here. When the party has started like maybe 30 mins into the party, we collect the names of people present and choose one person to begin the game
That person will be on hot seat 💺🪑😂😂😂
Everyone present for the game will be asking him or her random questions and he will be answering it left and right 🤣🤣
After some minutes, we choose another person to be on hot 🔥 seat 🪑 and the random questions continues...we can decide on number of people to play for the day

For me I think the hangout should start Friday evening because a lot of us here are students while some are workers and weekends are always free for us to have fun. Then the closing time should be Sunday evening so that everyone can participate
The game we should play should be evolved around hive, yes a target to hit on a certain number of Leo threads talking about hive naija community will be better, in that way people will be attracted to the community.
