She is right. The markets do well in rising interest rate environments too. The problem is they have a better chance at seeing Santa Claus than that.
The thing is they still have no understanding of why, after a decade of throwing everything at it, they were still fighting low inflation. Completely clueless as to why it happened.
Mark my words, they will be clueless once again when the commodity run ends and they face a massive deflationary onslaught.

They will. The economy will also take a hit. It is not strong enough to have the stimulus pulled. However, the sentiment is to reverse course, which they will do. Give it 6 months and we will see the situation slapping these people in the face.
It was a point in made in my post about oil. I am watching that closely.
By the way did you see this? It might be short term but that is a heck of a pullback. Sure it is just one commodity but a greater than 25% drop in a few weeks is a big move.

She knows more than me. I do not understand all this inflation and deflation stuff. Still working on understanding it. I had two years of accounting in High School but that was over 40 years ago!
Maybe one day the light bulb in my non-economist brain will turn on and I will have an epiphany! Until that time comes, I will defer to those here that understand it better.

Absolutely. No doubt in my mind. I haven't checked the long/short ratio lately because I've been so busy, and truthfully, because I don't care, but in my opinion, when that turns sufficiently in favor of the shorts, Bitcoin will take off again. And it will happen fast. Just my opinion. It will be another scenario where everyone is going to be kicking themselves for not accumulating as much as they could at these levels and they'll be FOMOing in all the way up to $100k plus.

I'm certain it will. Just not sure when. I read somewhere that there are still high projections for Q4 and I don't doubt the possibility but you know, can't be entirely sure. If Q4 fails, then 4years isn't a very long time to wait.

It looks that hydrogen is getting a lot of press these days. I am a non-apologetic tree hugger, and am all for transitioning to alternative energy sources.

I have bought some LEO as well in the last couple weeks. I got 1000 at like $0.22-$0.25. Hard to resist. Especially since it adds to the curation value. I actually bought a little more yesterday but converted it to CAKE. I checked the LeoDex and there was someone selling more than 2000 LEO so I was able to buy Hive on Bittrex, move it here, convert it to Swap-Hive and buy the LEO with it. Then send that to bLEO and buy CAKE. The fees were about as low as you could possibly get them. Cheap on Bittrex. Basically non-existent to transfer to Hive, .25% to deposit on LeoDex, no fees to buy the LEO, and 1 LEO to convert to bLEO, and finally small fees to swap to CAKE. Pretty happy with it....

I've been thinking about it as well. Haven't pulled the trigger yet but I'm definitely close. My biggest problem is there are so many other cryptos down right now as well that I keep finding other ones to buy instead. Not the least of which is CAKE. With Kingdoms opening that up, I really like the idea of farming another "major" currency. If you consider CAKE the UNI of BSC, then it would seem like a good one to own for the next leg up at least. That said, $20 to $60 on CAKE is the same as $0.62 to $1.86 on CUB. Tough call. Like I said, I bought some CAKE to get a piece of the Kingdoms farming but I'll probably go with CUB on my next buy.

Well, my belief is that the "next" life will be far better than this one. So why would I extend my existence here and go through all the struggles? Don't get me wrong, I like my life and I have no interest in having it end early, but it certainly isn't easy. I wouldn't mind extending it a few more decades I guess, just to see where things go. But at the same time, the mess our governments are making of the world doesn't give me a lot of reason to hope that the world is going to be a better place in the future. So, put me in the 42% camp. I'd consider adding maybe 50 years but no chance I'd want to be "immortal". At least in this world anyway....

Apparently the recent fight between Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather was more of a hug fest than a boxing match, not a bad way to earn tens of millions of dollars really. If I were one of them I would have preferred to be hugging a chick while earning all that money but that's why I will continue to remain a pleb, I have unrealistic expectations: no chick would hug a broke ass pleb. As much as I understand the desire of most to see Lowbrain Paul get a good whooping I wouldn't spend a dime if I knew some of it would end in his pocket, so I'm a bit surprised at the amount of money a mouth breather like him earned from this little endeavor.
Anyway when it comes to arguing on Hive I like to keep it as chill as these two buffoons and not escalate pointless conflicts, rare as they are. Like when someone asked me if I got a problem with whatever he was rambling about, and I said that "real" life is full of problems, Hive is my escapism and I'm here to have fun.
I must emphasize that there's a lot less drama now than "in the good old days" but I don't think reminding people to be less confrontational and have more fun is a bad thing :)

Banks and hedge funds will invest in stuff as long as it makes them money. The second the sector starts losing, they will dump those "green" investments.
When it comes to green, those institutions go for the tried and true green, as in money.
As for hydrogen, a lot of advancement being made. Going to be a contender in some areas I surmise. I can see the trucking industry jumping onto that. It makes a great deal of sense there.

Nothing that is commercial that I can see. There is some technological research where they can have hydrogen discs which then can be heated with a laser. That could really be idea for the trucking industry.

It doesnt look like the USG will do another round of stimulus checks to the population. Of course, they believe that things are going to be good as the economy "reopens". I disagree with this assessment that things are going well. They are a mess.
Nevertheless, they will continue to believe that until it is too late. The Fed is doing the same thing.

Everyone blamed the market for screaming when the easing was temporarily stopped a few years ago by the Fed. The economy also couldnt handle it and it was on firmer footing then. With all the tax mess coming out of Washington along with the effects of the lockdowns, we are seeing major headwinds.
I think there is a lot being overlooked.
Oh and by the way, technology is racing ahead. That impact seems to be overlooked regularly by people.

Do we need another round of stimulus checks? I do not think so. The pandemic seems to be winding down. Tax credits for children sounds good. Time for youngsters to get back to work if they are able. There are plenty of jobs offering sign up bonuses and high wages, at least in my area.
Shoot if they cut my military pension I will go start pushing shopping carts in the supermarket parking lots or stock shelves at the local Dollar General. I will have no other choice!

Use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) is always a good idea. I am not sure what is available in your area. I use NORDVPN.
I also have my browser set up so that every time I close it all settings and cookies are erased. It is a bit of an inconvenience but adds to security.
You might check out posts by TheMarkyMark. He has done a number of posts on security.

Saudi Arabia is going to keep pumping out oil. People are nuts if they think that the world is not going to still need a ton of fossil fuels over the next couple decades. Renewables are growing at a terrific rate but so is the overall energy need. No way all that demand is met with renewables and few (to no) countries are going to reduce their energy usage.

When do you think we will be completely off oil? I am guessing we will require 20-30 years since most sectors are slow to change. Personally I think renewable costs should be cheaper than gas costs in a decade or two.

I wouldnt think it will be that quick because as @dagger212 pointed out, it is used for a lot more than just transportation. So until we address an alternative for plastic, it isnt likely to happen.
Plus even with cars, we will see gas powered cars sold for at least another decade. Considering the age of vehicles, that would still necessitate a need in the 20 year window you pointed out.
Of course things change quickly but humans tend not to. So I think there will be the long trend of adoption.

Depends upon what you mean by escape velocity? If you mean where it advances faster than we can comprehend, aka the Singularity, I think you are looking in the 2050s or 2060s for that.
If you mean where it is growing at an exponential rate, I think we are already there. The pace of many innovations is truly impressive. We are operating on the positive feedback loop whereby each advanced level is a higher starting point for the next innovation.
