Reps Line.png

Challenge Overview:

  • You choose what types of exercise reps to do.
  • 30 minutes of fitness walking, running, spinning, biking, cross-country skiing, etc., can count as 100 reps if you need to rest or can't use weights.
  • I'll award 1 SBD for every 10,000 rep milestone. (29 SBD paid out)
  • I run the numbers daily which is sometimes harder than my reps.

Conditions:

  • Weights not required.
  • Do real reps, use good form, aiming for 100+.
  • Start your reply with "Challenge Completed".
  • Reply with a list of the exercises and reps you did.
  • Cumulative tallies are appreciated as a separate line.
  • Only submit reps you've done, not ones you're planning to do.
  • Use the tag "fitnesschallenge" on associated posts.
  • Upvoting or resteeming is appreciated to reach more.
  • Try to upvote as many contributors as possible to motive each other.

Advice:

  • Stretch before and after.
  • Breathe properly on each rep.
  • Quality over quantity.
  • Eat a healthy snack after/stay hydrated.
  • Start with exercises you enjoy to build up for harder ones.
  • Take before pictures to appreciate results over time.
  • Feel good about your accomplishments.

My Daily Challenge Completed - 200 reps:

25 Bicep Bar Curls (75 pounds)
25 Shoulder Bar Presses (75 pounds)
25 Bar Squats (75 pounds)
25 Trap Bar Raises (75 pounds)
45 minutes walk (100 reps)

My Daily Assessment:

Our total rep # may be slightly inflated based on some recent cardio rep count calculation/inflation/confusion, but we're close enough. I'll have more thorough updated guidelines for our next chapter very shortly.

From @musclegirlfusion:

"Since I started posting in this challenge, you've given me a reason to blog on steemit. No matter how discouraged I get when it seems like no one is reading what I write, I know I can write it and post it here and it adds to the challenge. So thank you for giving me the motivation I need to stick with blogging!!"

From @bitfiend:

"After starting 6 days ago I already feel stronger. This is definitely the most consistent exercise I've done in an extremely long time but I am happy to be taking part! While I walk around mostly in pain, I know it's all for a good cause! My health! I am feeling better and I'd say my sickness is mostly gone now. I think that if I had not been exercising, I may have been sick for a bit longer. Persistence pays off!"

From @mightpossibly:

"I find it deeply satisfying to do these reps, which is a big deal. I've always hated the gym and prefer to exercise at home. But I've lacked the discipline to do it. It sort of feels like I have gym buddies now, without the hassle of going to the gym."

From @notorious562:

"I seriously cannot explain how much this group pushes and motivate me to keep working harder. I love this fitness community and the support and encouragement will help us achieve our goals."

From @khufu:

"Your challenge has helped immensely to keep me motivated lately. I've had a lot of... problems going on so your challenge has been a quantum of sanity in an insane world for me."

Sounds good to me! That's no joke.

Yeah, that sled push is brutal. It was probably like 20-30 minutes of pushing that stupid sled around. 😂 Probably very effective at burning calories, judging by how hungry I was when I got back home.

Challenge completed - 600 reps

Light session for me last night.

Yawnnnn 600 reps. GRRRR give me your energy.

There's 9 cents, put it towards some pre workout :)

Hah. I'm so stubborn, I don't take any supplements pre or post, only the occasional protein bar/shake if I'm on the run. I don't drink caffeine either except the occasional tea, so all of my "energy" is as far as I can take myself on whatever food I sporadically ate throughout the day. It's all heart!!

Yeah I try to stay away from pre workout, but it does have it's place when your worked to the bone like me. Just to eat and go to work is a 13 hour day, then gotta find time for gym and everything else. Pre workout helps me pump through those reps much faster and turn a 2 hour workout into just over an hour

Your idea of light is like 1,000 reps!!! LOL

Lol I stuffed that 1 up, so used to doing cardio I put 100 reps instead of 600 :/
Still a light session :D

200 squat jumps- how long does it take to do them? can you provide a video of it?

Sure I would love to. But the problem is that it would become very large to be uploaded here. We don't have that type of fast internet.

try this https://wetransfer.com/ or use google docs(make a low quality video) or add to youtube

Can you use this website to post on dtube?

I am asking because I don't know much of OLYMPIC athletes who can do 200 squat jumps... or you maybe have super resistance to the lactic acid?

Can I have the antidote to lactic acid please?

Daily Challenge Completed - 116 reps

Consisting of : 30 minutes cardio and 16 pull ups.

Also, we're trying to find start a Monthly movement challenge where people set themselves a target (run 50 kilometers or bike 94 miles in a month), if this is something you might be interested in, please pop on over to here.

Also!!! Half a million reps is incredible everyone! Well done!!
Thanks!

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that! Congratulations to us for reaching this insane amount of reps!

Slightly inflated reps as of late, but in a week, I'll say we truly went over 500k.

Push ups- 70
Squats-50
======================================
Total reps- 120

My notes:
Today was a slower day. I decided that I will be starting a new challenge. The challenge will be a 50 a day squat challenge. I am going to be running more this week since on Sunday i will be running a half marathon again. I hope that someone out there is inspired and motivated with my daily post. I would love to hear people success stories so please comment them below.

Daily Challenge Complete - 100 reps - So frustrated waiting on the city to fix my drainage problem. Had to keep it short and simple today, and I realized I'm 50 reps short of my first 10k. Tomorrow I'll get it!

Daily Challenge Completed :300 reps

Challenge Completed! 100 Reps

On Day 42 of my challenge, I tried a small 30 minute run / walk in the moring before hitting the shower which I actally enjoyed and will do this more often. I Did not have the time I needed to do the entire routine I want to do daily, but spread around some push-ups ands squads which can be done everywhere during my day.

Welcome!! This table is great. Rope skip goes under cardio, so those reps won't count unless you're doing them for more than 30 minutes. Thanks also for your upvotes.

I will always be rounding down the overall amount of reps to a lower amount compared to what they really are (0 | 100 | 200 | 300). this should make it easy to track and fair. The real numbers are just to keep track of it for myself.

Thanks for these daily posts, they really make a difference!

No exercise today had my cement driveway redone was doing yard work to cleanup, plant grass, and some pavers to reset(better than the last owner of this house.

0 reps though I'm not into counting work that has to be done for exercise, except maybe shoveling 12 inches of snow.

Daily Challenge Completed - 500 reps:
Just walking in my campus.

Just a friendly reminder that 500 reps = 2.5 hours of walking.

Yeah normally I walk more then 2.5 hours. I wake up so early as before sun rising.

Challenge comoleted
Chest workout Total reps 870

For these big rep days, I'd really appreciate seeing a bit more detail or a pic/video from time to time.

Definitely man...
Just give me a few days. I'm having my exams right now...
Next time I'll click a pic or shoot a vid

Sorry I messed up! I put yesterdays on a different post, so il have to post the different day here! I think the timezones confuse me as I am on British time and you are on US?

Today's Challenge Completed

  • 1 hour body pump <3

My Assessment

Again, I absolutely love body pump classes!

I squatted with 20kg, clean & pressed 15kg, triceps 5kg, biceps 5kg, chest 10kg & 6kg (different movements) , lunges 15kg (I normally do 20kg but I was shattered towards the end!), shoulders 6kg (again I was exhausted!)

I am not sure of the reps, but we work on a different part of the body for different tracks.

I am considering increasing my squat weight to 25kg soon! The only issue I will have, is getting the bar over my head, but my arms are pretty strong now so hopefully it will be fine. Perhaps in 3 weeks time I will increase it.

I feel myself continually getting stronger and my glutes building nicely :D

It's great because yoga tones you, but body pump gives you that extra strength building and its good to mix exercising up so your body gets a shock :)

I'm not sure exactly which day this is for, but I'd guess it's for the placeholder post I had up. I'll count it a day early potentially since it's no big deal. I'm on EST in the US.

Thanks for all of your detail and stories.
