I Am On A Diet (WIP)

Warning

Every Person Is Different. This Is My Personal Journey

I am used to being on a restricted diet because of my health problems. I have fibromyalgia, an autoimmune disease that has no cure but symptoms/pain can be reduced with stress management, diet, and exercise. I can't eat large amounts of foods high in lectin content like grain, nuts, and legumes because the lectin in these food groups causes inflammation. If you have a healthy gut more than likely, you have no problem eating foods high in lectin. I eat a small amount of these food groups for my gut bacteria; they love the lectin and fiber. I use intermittent fasting as a way to mitigate inflammation, which is what fibromyalgia is all about. I lost 55lbs in 5 months 3 years ago with this diet and kept it off until this last winter.

I went to a doctor who is also a nutritionist, and he gave me the 800 calorie diet. I will be on this restricted diet for the next two months. My nutritionist weighed and measured me as well. I go in once a month to talk to my doctor, and we check my weight and adjust my diet if needed.

I lost 10lbs last month. I have another 15lbs to go until I reach my target weight. The last 10 or 15lbs will come off very slowly. The more weight you have to lose the easier it is to lose the first months of dieting. The body adjusts to calorie restriction, and if you restrict your calories too much, the body starts eating muscle instead of using fat. With this diet, I have experienced a mild form of ketosis and detox symptoms. Mainly bad breath and a mild rash on my upper thighs. I found with diets you have to change your eating habits and be honest why you gained some weight back. I gained weight because of my homemade cookies, cream in my coffee, and I was sitting all day painting and writing articles for Steemit.

I drink 16 ounces of black coffee and 3 quarts of water throughout my day. I walk 2 to 4 miles a day. If I had a physical job or worked out during the week lifting weights or running, I would have to up my food intake to avoid muscle loss.

You Need A Sustainable Plan You Can Easily Follow!

How I kept the weight off for the last 2.5 years, I walked 3 to 4 miles a day and ate 1200 calories a day. I did have sugary or fast food treats but only once or twice a month in moderation.

What do I mean when I use the word moderation? I would have a dessert or a sugary sweet snack like 2 cookies, 1 cup of ice cream, a small slice of pie. I didn't overeat all day on sweets, that can break my fragile good eating habit. I've learned this the hard way after gaining weight during my pre-menopause symptoms were over, and I entered menopause.

I Have No Problem Aging Except For The Side-Effects.

My body as an older woman is very different compared to the body of a woman that still has estrogen and active ovaries. It seems every ten years I trade my old body in for a new one that operates on an entirely different system. What I needed for exercise, dealing with stress, and nutrition changes each year and drastically changed when I was pregnant or breastfeeding. I had 3 children by the time I was 30 years old.

You Can Do Something To Avoid Muscle Loss

I am also losing muscle mass faster than ever before. I read the aging body is prone to losing muscle mass if one doesn't keep active. Less muscle mass, fewer calories burned! Also loss of muscle is tied to brittle bones and poor sleeping cycles. These symptoms are also tied to lack of vitamin D, which you get in certain foods and skin exposure to sunlight. I have a link posted below for people over the age of 50 years old on how to avoid muscle loss through diet and exercise.

Hunger And Detox Pain Only Lasted 3 Days

After the first 3 days I am no longer hungry, but I feel like eating when I want to take a break. I have a glass of water instead. I take a walk first thing in the morning after I have a large glass of water and have another cup of water and a cup of coffee when I get home.

Walking cuts back on my cravings and I have no problem waiting until 10 am to eat. I have cravings to eat and or take a nap around 4 pm. I know this is a vulnerable time for me and I have a snack and a large glass of water.

Today my snack is a cup of steamed broccoli. I don't eat anything after 4pm. That is part of my intermittent fasting. I have a six hour window to eat all my food for the day. Many people make the mistake cramming large amounts of food into their meals. I keep my portions small and only eat 2 meals a day and a snack in the afternoon.

really you are so strong, you nice article about your life, im happy you touched your goal i wish the best for you

I am not as strong as I used to, my griping strength in my hands has weakened, I can't pop open my pickle jars as easily. But my endurance and lung capacity is like a 30 year old body because I have been very active most of my life. Thank you @gamercreed.

@reddust,
Weight is one of the main topic of aging people! But I think you are maintaining it nicely!
Anyway I like what you shared here! I am 26 years younger than you! But I assure those are truly valuable inputs to have a healthy lives!

Cheers~

I still have a lot of muscle and dense bones because of lifting weights and running. The hard part is getting enough energy to maintain what I have. I just want to take naps like an old lady...hahaha

Lets be healthy together @theguruasia

I can see the result with just one month so i think you're doing a great job :). Regards

My plan is simple, I found that I have more success with goals when I keep everything as simple as possible...thank you for your support @dim753

Wow so nice, the last time I tried going on diet, I didn't spend up-to three days before I start missing meals and finally gave up... Awesome seeing you keeping up.

If I don't keep my weight off I will have problems with my health. Most people don't think about long term eating habits effecting their health. Especially when they are young.

Well... I have to agree with you in 100%... I am 23 and usually I dont think about so much what I eat and what can it do with my health in future... But sometimes when I hear about heart attack or diabetes... Then my brain got lamp and then I think about my eating habits from last months... After that I usually take more care what I eat to not over my life too quick...
Good luck with diet

Thank you @mikuruma, take it from an old lady, it is easier to change habits when you are young, your habits are young too...if you wait till you are old and sick it will be difficult to change ingrained old habits and work through your illness while you are trying to improve your health and change you habits for the better.

Dear @reddust you don't have to thank me ;) It's just my opinion ;) BUT not from old lady... Just older than me ;) Well, change habits is one thing but also life healthly is important. You cant call yourself "healthly" if you avoid things like fast food restaurants etc. but you are smoking a lot... That's not way to livelong and healthly. Each human is different. One can die if use drug's (not medicine) once, another after use them a lot... In my opinion there is many, maybe even too many thing's that depend's of something.

Am guilty of this 😢

ahhh, don't beat yourself up...be your bodies best friend and take care of it, it's the only one you get in this life @onos. <3

Have you heard of Steven Gundry? He talks a lot about lectins and has his own diet to combat a lot of things like auto immune diseases. Good job on your progress. I love intermittent fasting and need to lose 20 lbs. I will post my journey soon.

pretty good and decent weight decrease, it easy to gain your body weight while hard to reduce, if you want to reduce weight it happens rapidly first few weeks and it going down slow. some keton body and bad breath also appear and maintain diet plan while you have chance to eat lot of, is quite crazy for the people who loves to eat food (including me). but i am trying to eat in a balance of calorie.

I love to eat, I love to cook, I love to feed people good food...so sad I can't eat as much as I want. But the energy I have from intermittent fasting is amazing! The trade-off is worth it, plus my feet don't hurt when I weigh somewhere between 130lbs and 140lbs. hehehe

@reddust I am also on diet - I try not to eat rice or bread and I allow myself to eat meat, fruits and more. Here, in this part of the world, we eat a lot of rice. We cook our dishes and make them so savoury that the only way to enjoy them is to eat them with rice, mostly.
I find it difficult not to eat rice & I need to find healthy alternative if I am to continue this diet. So, I stumbled across sweet potatoes as an alternative. There’s some good write up about sweet potatoes.

@mrashik, you have to figure out how many calories you burn during the day. When I am on this kind of diet I eat carbohydrates like rice, grains, beans in small quantities. My largest portion size is dedicated to vegetables because they have the minerals and lots of fiber which help my digestive and nervous system work well. I also take in saturated fats, my brain and nervous system needs that kind of fat for their insulation system...haha

https://www.livestrong.com/article/394382-myelin-sheath-and-essential-fatty-acids/

I didn't know this but if a human doesn't get any fat in their diet they will die, the symptoms are called protein poisoning.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein_poisoning

I eat sweet potatoes too, I love them <3

Always should consult with the advice of the doctor and we should be very careful in the food because we love to eat a lot and yes every day if we can exercise you like you, but our body and health will be very good, we get sick by spending millions of rupees but we If you want this group, you can give us these diseases if you give some bad habit Chen,

@tipu77, I talked with a doctor that has a degree in nutrition, not all doctors know about nutrition!

But the doctor you talked to has given you good advice and good advice and which is important to obey

Yes I did some comparative shopping before I picked a Doctor <3

@reddust, Absolutely I appreciate your every planing wherever you want to control your health condition. I've read carefully your meal pan and it would be better for keep health nicely. Exercise also must important to keep going. Diseases disturbing for us for keep going. In fact I accept your every planning as you mentioned.

I have a few friends that know I am dieting and they wanted to know how I am doing. I decided to write out exactly how I am doing...haha

For me I try to stop meat at all. Vegans given lot of opportunity to keep heath better. Nice to follow your points @reddust.

I have some some animal protien or my eyesight (eggs) and nervous system will suffer (B vitimans) will suffer. Because of my digestive issues I cannot absorb plant based iron or I would go vegan. Monday I have free range beef steak with veggies for dinner.

keep on diet ain't easy for me. I always fail to keep up whenever I do try it. Have a very busy schedule, I hardly have time for myself. Maybe some day, i will start it all over again

A real sustainable diet means changing habits and that is difficult because our reality as we see it is based on our conditioning and habits. We have to be open to seeing a new reality and that makes changing old habits and conditioning easier. Meditation has taught me how to stay open and how to avoid repressing feelings that can trigger stress eating. Everyone is different regarding our body and conditioning but there are some universal truths when it comes to changing human habit patterns. Food is a big habit and people get upset easily when this habit is challenged.

Yeah i'm agree with you that every person is different as your personal journey is quite different from us. But don't worry, i hope if you control diet and continue the daily exercise then very soon you will be fit. Just keep up your great job. And i also like your meditation like yoga as I think yoga is very helpful to control our mind and body. Thanks @reddust to share your personal experience with us.

@msena because of my discipline training from meditation it is easy for me to change old habits and be aware of old habits that make come up when I am in the process of changing. Yoga keeps me bendable, a bendable body is a young body...haha

You are looking nice in pictures with improving structures step by step here on steemit eyes for steemian keep it up with passion and got the figure you want do giving attraction to those who really like you in eecent future looks best wishes with best diet stuff

I have had an active life, I used to run 5 miles a day and I still weight train through lifting my body weight in yoga. So my body has a memory of staying fit. For someone whose body muscle has no memory of exercise it is difficult when first starting a new exercise and diet routine. Thank you @iqrimikri

Well sorry for some of the facts but as it is good for your health the diet and all the scheduled plans.

While we all have to reach that stage of our life where we all will have health problems.you sure are a great women enjoying and working for the health o yours. While at this age few of us are just lazy enough to get out for a walk even :(

It was great to know about a part of your life, hope everyone gets to stay healthy and safe.

@rehan12, walking partners help. My husband and I walk together but you can find walking buddies if you join social walking groups too. An exercise partner will get you out of bed or out of the house when you aren't feeling up to exercising. My husband and I do that for each other, we walk early in the morning before the heat of the day.

Thanks for the suggestion Will sure give it a try !

that good! Seeing your weight loss motivates me. I find it a bit difficult with all those sweets that I prepare. But I'm doing the best. I already have almost two weeks without drinking sodas and for me that is already a great advance

@denissemata, I wouldn't have the strength to resist your baked goods. You are stronger than I am, no cookies or sweets on my house right now!

Congratulations giving up sweet drinks, my doctor told me they are the number one problem for people who are trying to lose weight. My husband and I gave up sodas back in 2007 and we don't do substitute sugars because they hurt the body.

Well this weekend I was not so strong! I ate a lot of chocolate mousse but it was very delicious... I was really addicted to soda. I hope to be strong with this, but it feels so good.

I'm sorry for what you're going through dear friend @reddust, I was surprised to read these symptoms. Beware.
I wish with all my heart this soon improve
Have a wonderful week

Dear @jlufer, thank you dear heart, but I will never get over this illness. The best I can do is find balance with the pain and fatigue and maintain my health. Part of my journey is understanding I am not this illness and accepting my bodies condition. I work with what I have and have found health and happiness this way. (hugs)

The results are impressive. With dedication and persistence your goals will be achieved. Just be careful and make sure your doctor supervises your very strict caloric restriction

I have a great doctor and I am taking my mineral supplements. I will be meeting with him soon for a checkup @marcusantoniu26. Thank you for your kindness and support.

Good job.... gaining weight is so easy process... but weight loss is so difficult.... your WIP in weight loss is appreciable...diet is good for all...but.... diet vary man to man... all are not same .... thanks for sharing your meal plan... carry on ... and also take care of your own health...

Isn't that the worst thing about gaining weight @prova....sigh

My feet are gong to be so thankful and happy, thank you for your support.

@reddust Good luck.
I made such a challenge a bit longer as a year ago. I felt so good I just kept going. The first 2 weeks were pretty hard for me though.
After waking up hangover on a sunday I ordered a pizza and fall back into eating "normal" though.
But I really liked it, was only a pain to prepare the meals.

looking forward what your experience will be.

I can't drink anymore because I get horrible headaches with just one drink. Also the sugar hurts my gallbladder, pancreas, and liver, which cause headaches and I gain weight off sugar products easily. So sad because I love a little bit of whisky but even a taste makes me sick now....

Try and find the fun in making good meals, cooking is like painting ;-)

I have read an article about you about this disease and about the suffering that is causing you
The best medicine for him is adherence to a diet system
I wish you health and wellness @reddust

Thank you @klasanaj, I write this articles for people like me that want to take care of their health naturally.

Good post dear Yeah, "A diet does not always mean a weight loss regimen" I try to control my food every day but doesn't work lol maybe is the wrong way of me Thank you for sharing I like your post have a nice day.

@moniristi, cutting calories is important when shedding fat. But you don't want to lose muscle so you have to watch the quality of your food. Depending on your hormone system, testosterone or estrogen driven you need need different quality of protein, fiber, and carbohydrates. Also I read blood type plays into what kind of lectins (grains, nuts/seeds, legumes) and carbs one can handle. If you do a little research online you can find all sorts of information that can help you fashion a sustainable diet and maintenance program after you lose your weight. One problem with diets is when someone goes off a diet most gain their weight back plus a little more. So you have to have a eating, exercise, and spiritual/mental program ready once you quite your diet.

Wow really you are a star. You must be kidding to say that you are 58 .
Seriously please tell me you are joking. You hardly look 40, you are in great shape. Great meal plan though. Good luck on your goal.

Oh please tell me more @wa2qr. You know what is super cool about getting old? I have to laugh when people tell me I look younger than I am...my vanity has totally disappeared, I am getting ready for my wrinkly stage and hopefully some wisdom. I will trade my looks but not my health for a large dose of wisdom.

Thank you for being so kind.

Yep absolutely, health is wealth.

In the last three months I have persisted for about 40 pounds, not because I could be sick but because it is now four months that we do not have access to animal protein because of the high cost and the impossibility of acquiring it (no meat, no chicken, no fish). We have opted for vegetables and grains; nor have we chosen sugar because it does not exist on the market. Thank God, we're healthy, but exhaustion comes quickly.

I am sorry @amigoponc, I hope your government gets your state banks under control. You don't have access to gardening and backyard chickens? Here were I live we have gardens and livestock between our family acreage. Many of us have chickens here in urban Tulsa

Hello my dear brother from Tulsa, @reddust, I don't like to talk too much about the situation we are going through in Venezuela, because I don't want people to think that we are begging, because there are a lot of users from my country who do that on this platform. But, the reality is raw; so much so that keeping an animal to eat it is unsustainable. A year ago we had a few chickens, but the need forces, that's why we came to steemit, which has been a real blessing for many here. I give you a piece of information for you to estimate: the basic salary of any Venezuelan is 3,000,000.00 Bs.F., which is equivalent to $2, a kilo of chicken costs 1,300,000.00 Bs.F., which represents $1; that is, half the basic salary. How about @reddust friend, another example, a kilo of meat costs today, 4,500,000.00 Bs.F.that is, approximately $3, who buys that....

Thank you for your kindness in answering my comments, I am pleased to read your post. Blessings and prosperity dear friend.

Congratulations on your progress so far, and good luck in the future! More than good luck, it looks like you have good planning and it seems that you've found ways to manage cravings without suffering... diets can be hard to follow without that kind of planning

I found planning helps me stay on course, whether it is a project like a painting or changing a habit. Thank you @motordrive.

My dear mother has suffered from fibromyalgia for years it's been very hard on her. I was on a diet as a child lost 33 pounds as a fourth grader. A teacher of mine asked me how I got so skinny I told her I was eating skinny food. Thanks. @reddust

@enjoywithtroy, if I hadn't changed my diet and started regular exercise I would be in a wheelchair and in a lot of pain right now. Eating skinny is the way to go and I pray your Mom can find some relief from the pain and fatigue.

A "diet" is simply what comprises your food selection, which just happens to be more strictly followed or tailored -- when someone is trying to achieve some sort of significant weight loss or health shift. Once again, by association with a common interest of humans, a word's main definition has been completely ignored and forgotten. Thanks @reddust for share

You are welcome @shihabieee, thank you for stopping by.

your post is very important for health. And i also like your meditation like yoga as I think yoga is very helpful to control our mind and body. Thanks @reddust to share your great blog.

@kakoly, thank you, I hope I can inspire people to become their own best friend. Changing lifestyle habits starts in the mind and the body will follow.

An exciting and wonderful review with your diet program. You can do this by exercising, eating vegetables and fruits and relieving stress by meditating. good work @reddust .. keep your spirit and keep your body condition.

Outstanding dietary achievements in the last 2.5 years, you exercise 3 to 4 miles and eat 1,200 calories a day.

My spirit is willing but my body is growing old like a antique car...hahaha

I need a tune-up and this diet is perfect for that, thank you @azroel.

We are omnivorous animals and our diet today is just reflective of our evolution over thousands of years. Im not saying that cant change but its not going to happen overnight. We might need another 1000 years to evolve beyond it.

Depending where people evolved their diets are very different. People up in the extreme north only eat animals and fish most of the year without any veggies, grains, or fruits and were very healthy until grocery stores moved into the primitive life styles.

People who ate more veggies and grains and could avoid animal products because of warmer climate and longer growing seasons were very healthy, until grocery stores ...(fast foods with very little nutrients and very easy access to large quantities of food).

We have not evolved for fast chemical laden foods and easy access to large portions of food all day long!

Dieting is tough business. I wish best of luck with it! I never had much luck with it, but I've always been sort of skinny, so maybe that's why I didn't take it very seriously. Anyway, I wish best of luck with diet and exercise. You look great by the way!

You and I have two very different hormonal systems and you have more bone and muscle, men are lucky that way, your system is simpler than our systems. We have to be able to concieve and carry a foreign life and preserve energy to feed them. Our system breaks down and wears out earlier than yours ...I want some of that testosterone...lolol More energy for me :p

Interestingly men live shorter lives than women do. A conundrum indeed.

you have succeeded in reducing the weight of @ reddust, visible differences on the side of your stomach, this is amazing ,,
I can hardly keep my habits eating nuts, is there any idea for that?
peanuts and ice water can make the disease, I know that, but it's very hard to keep away.
Thanks @reddust

My face shows the weight-loss first and I never had a lot of belly fat, it takes forever to burn the inches off my , butt, and thighs. I don't drink cold water, it hurts my tummy and teeth and peanuts gives me rashes...lolol

Have a great week @milend.

Great job @reddust! :)

Thank you @weirdheadaches <3

Really nice to see the progress you've made for yourself with the diet and the weight.

I am certainly not able to imagine what the actual effect of the dietary restrictions are (since I have never really had them) but they sound really difficult to me. On the other hand I understand that our bodies are really adaptable which includes changes in environment, age, health, etc.

So as you say that there is till some way to go to your target weight (although it looks great to me in pictures - but I am not the doctor so... ) and it makes me wonder what number of foods are can be rotated to allow for a taste variety to the palate.

My sister cannot eat gluten and it always worries me because to gluten is one of the main components of diets. It makes me feel that she misses out on a lot but she assures me that there is plenty of variety if I were to just look for it.

Good to read more about the personal life of my favorite artist on steemit :-)

No one needs gluten to stay alive, gluten is hard on our guts lining and causes inflammation. Most people are healthy enough to handle gluten but because of chemical laden society many peoples guts are leaky and gluten can migrate to other areas of the body causing an allergic reaction. I also have read we may not be allergic to gluten or the combination of gluten and glyphosate in weed killer is causing immune system and digestive problems. There are societies that do very well and never eat gluten. I also read modern wheat has been hybridized to produce more gluten than primitive forms of wheat. I wrote a bunch of vaccine articles and one of the main subjects that came up in scientific studies was damage to our digestive system. There are so many things in our modern life style that are harming our gut bacteria and our digestive system. The digestive system is like our second brain and a big part of our immune system.

http://www.health.com/digestive-health/leaky-gut-wheat-sensitivity

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3945755/

I think I was just speaking from my personal experience since gluten is a main part of my personal diet. My diet is actually quite crappy since I eat a lot of baked products, cookies, sweets and such.

You are so lucky @hashcash...sigh

great motivational post. shed off 10 lbs in a month is amazing job. I also want to shed off my weight. But for me i think a deit plan of 800 Calories is pretty low. you did a great job for losing weight. Wish you a best health @reddust

This is not a sustainable diet, I have another diet plan I will go on once I shed the pounds. If I was involved in a lot of physical activity I would have to increase my caloric intake...lolol

When on a restrictive calorie diet like this I have to make sure I take in all the minerals and vitamins the body needs as well. I can get most of the nutrients I need from my food but I do take some mineral supplements. If I had a large bone and muscle mass like men have I wouldn't get away with just 800 calories a day...hahaha

Thank you @kamchore.

You look amazing @reddust I have suggestions ;
One of the most important points is to eat as much vegetables and fruits as you can. In particular, you should adapt your children to this. You should try to use vegetables, fruits, fresh, organic or natural grown, unadulterated, antibiotic-free, hormone-free ones. Vegetables and fruits are so precious. Take advantage of the dried fruits.

Everything I eat is organic however I can't eat dried fruit, even when I am not cutting calories. My body can't handle the extra sugar in dried fruits...so sad :-(

Thankfully fresh fruits in small quantities are okay and I can eat as much green leafy veggies as I want.

Wow, do you get satisfied from eating this thing. I don't think I would be. But you still look great at 58years. It's just consistency that's the key, good luck trying to get fit. I know it's not easy @reddust.

No I am not satiated on a restricted diet. I have an eating habit that wants to eat more and I have the body complaining when it goes into fat burning mode. It's uncomfortable but if I am aware of why I am feeling uncomfortable and the habits the feeling triggers I can avoid negative reactions like going off the diet. That's one of the cool little tricks I learned from meditation retreat...hehehe

Lol, Moderation is the key.

that is quite detailed
this will give inspiration to other people also
good to see your dedication
well i thought you will be close to 40
58 never expected!

Thank you @muzaifwani, this winter hit me pretty hard, I could feel my body aging this year, it is getting difficult to motivate myself when I feel old. I am learning how to move when my body just wants to take a nap ...hahaha

Well done I'm sure it inspiring your family and all who surrounds you!

@stav-cophen, I am glad you mentioned family. I forgot to tell the story of how my health program has changed my family. My daughter and her children are off most fast foods and candy! I don't get colds or flu and they were sick most of the winter and spring. My husband has lost a bunch of weight too, he no longer eats cookies ;-) hahaha

Thats just great!
you are doing an incredible work and should get a round of applause for that!
here is mine 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

im currently going through a journey like that my self and i blog it here in steemit so seeing posts like your just inspire me to push even harder and get my goals!

Thanks a lot!

yeah, i like the style and way you have shown us how to reduce body weight with the maintain of calorie, most valuable information and awareness to keep your body fit, thanks a lot for kind of information.

The best medicine for him is adherence to a diet system
I wish you health and wellness @reddust

your meal plan is good...regularly take it..its good for u

I can see the result with just one month so i think you're doing a great job . Best of luck.

Wow so nice, the last time I tried going on diet, I didn't spend up-to three days before I start missing meals and finally gave up... Awesome seeing you keeping up.

If you can view your craving sensation with equanimity, you will find it comes and goes, eventaully you can let it go and build a new habit of staying strong with your resolution. You can do it @getstarted.

Tnx for upv

Every peoples has different mind and probably they had to eat fixed time or not. But taking meals onetime, better for go further life. Your opinions so much better for follow up. Thanks to shared valuable contents @reddust.

That's pretty cool to know thanks for the tips by the way, have a nice..

You can change @hafez, we humans are lucky enough to have free will and are not hardwired into eating only certain foods. If you have bad habits you can exchange them for good habits. It takes a little bit of awareness of who you are and what motivates you and some discipline.

I weighed almost 200lb before I gave birth with all my babies because I ate everything in sight...I wish I know what I know now and I could of avoided the weight gain and having to lose the weight. I started running after my first child and thought I could exercise my weight off. I was wrong, I didn't know the quality of food and portion sizes were the main reason why I gained so much weight.
