All right folks, I'm out of here. New Year's Day and January 2nd posts are scheduled since I'll be away for a couple of days. Cheers to everyone! Have a wonderful incoming New Year!
Once in a while I also come across projects being incredibly arrogant toward their community. Mantra is the latest one. Delaying their airdrop all the way to 2027 resulted in the whole community hating them but they act like nothing happened and thanking their community for everything across social media.
When project owners get this delusional, all I see are major red flags and start looking for a exit sign. Shame really, when they let it get to their head.
Solana has always done things like that, but because of the genuine technical innovations, combined with the immense amount of VC money to promote it, made them not have to pay for mistakes. Yet.
Solana is this remarkable comeback kid who always shakes off the fud and bounces back. It will be interesting to see if it manages to repeat that since the competition is getting a lot tougher with chains like SUI, Base and Hyperliquid now joining the fun.
As crypto payment rails start to penetrate traditional finance, I think deposits will largely evaporate from banks into crypto. To make up for the loss, I can see banks becoming more service-oriented and making profit from transaction fees. Given the increased transaction velocity resulting from crypto, it is likely that this will largely offset the loss of deposits. Alternatively, banks can opt to become gateways, local branches, to our crypto wallets.
Banks already offer safety deposit boxes; they could expand on this service. Since they're going to 5¢-&-10¢ their customers regardless of the climate, they may as well make their customers feel good by getting into the collectibles market.

American South: New Year Black Eyed Peas
If you live in the U.S., you're more than likely familiar with the time-honored tradition of eating black-eyed peas on New Year's Day. But why do folks (particularly Southerners) do this? Well there are a number of reasons for this tradition, and different people subscribe to different explanations. Some suggest that because black-eyed peas swell when they are cooked, they symbolize the expansion of wealth throughout the year. Others reference the old adage "Eat poor on New Year's, and eat fat the rest of the year." Regardless, Hoppin John is one of the most popular black-eyed pea dishes: It usually is made of some combination of black-eyed peas, rice, and pork.
Canada: Tourtiere (French Canadian Meat Pie)
This French-Canadian meat pie originated in Québec, and is typically served on Christmas or New Year's. It's truly a special occasion dish as it combines both sweet and savory flavors like beef, pork, potatoes, onions, allspice, and a buttery, flaky crust. You'll find countless variations of the dish throughout Quebec — Chef John's version incorporates seasonal spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.
China: He Jia Tuan Yuan (Tofu Ball Soup for Lunar Chinese New Year)
Dumplings and meatballs are both traditional dishes for Chinese New Year because they symbolize union and connection to family. In this soup, sweet tofu dumplings are served in a warm broth. Recipe creator Tao,RN says "...we use a meatball dish and/or sweet dumpling dish to emphasize the Chinese expression 'He Jia Tuan Yuan.' 'He Jia' means the whole family. 'Tuan Yuan' means 'all be together' ('yuan' also means circle, round as well, which connects with the shape of the meatballs and the sweet dumplings)."
Denmark and Norway: Kransekake (Norwegian Almond Ring Cake)
In the Scandinavian countries of Denmark and Norway, Kransekage (which translates to wreath cake), is typically served on New Year's Eve. The cake is made up of marzipan doughnuts or cakes which are stacked on top of each other and glued together with icing to resemble a tower. You might even find a bottle of wine at the center!
England: Grandma's Wassail
This seasonal drink is enjoyed on New Year's in some parts of England because of its name: Wassail is derived from the Gaelic term for "good health" or "be well." It's typically made with hot cider and a combination of spices.
France: Croquembouche Cone
The French do it big with this celebratory dessert. Croquembouche is a festive dessert made up of cream puffs that are dipped in caramel, stacked to form a tower, and then caged with even more caramel. It's traditionally served at special occasions like weddings, Christmas, and le réveillon de la Saint-Sylvestre — a customary celebration of the arrival of the New Year.
Greece: Vaselopita - Greek New Years Cake
Also spelled Vasilopita, this Greek cake is served on New Year's Day and in some other parts of Eastern Europe. If you're lucky, you'll find a hidden coin or trinket in your slice, promising 12 months of prosperity. But don't fret, everyone who is gathered to slice the cake is said to receive good luck in their household in the coming year.
India: Lemon Basmati Rice
Rice is commonly served on New Year's in parts of India and Pakistan, as it is said to promise prosperity. "Lemon rice is common in India, particularly in South India," says reviewer rajena.
Iran: Kookoo Sabzi (Fresh Herb Frittata)
The Persian or Iranian New Year, Norouz, comes in the spring, with an emphasis on rebirth. Seven symbolic dishes are typically served, including this fresh-herb frittata, which is meant to embody the spirit of Nowruz. The green herbs represent new life and the eggs are a symbol of fertility.
Ireland: Irish Bannock
The Irish have a New Year's tradition of banging the walls of the house with bread to chase away bad luck or evil spirits. Whether or not you choose to use it for this purpose, bannock is a tasty and traditional Irish bread made with the addition of dried currants.
Italy: Italian Lentil Soup
In Italy (and some other countries), lentils are said to symbolize luck and prosperity because their shape resembles a coin. It can be incorporated into the New Year's Eve meal in a number of ways, but this warm, lentil soup is sure to be enjoyed on a cold winter day.
Japan: Tamarind Tofu with Vegetables and Soba
If you're not familiar with soba noodles, it's a long noodle often found in Japanese cuisine that can take on several different forms. Toshikoshi soba is typically enjoyed on New Year's Eve because its name translates to "year crossing buckwheat noodle," or in other words, the crossing from one year to the next. The tradition goes all the way back to the 17th century. This one-bowl dish incorporates bi-colored soba noodles in addition to tamarind, baked tofu, vegetables, and a garlic sauce.
Mexico: Real Homemade Tamales
In Mexico and in Latino families around the world, tamales are commonplace in Christmas and New Year festivities. Because they are so time-consuming and labor-intensive, they're typically reserved for special occasions. Mexican tamales typically consist of savory filling such as pork or beef, encased in masa and wrapped in a corn husk and cooked. This top-rated recipe is great for the tamale newcomer.
Netherlands: Oliebollen (Dutch Doughnuts)
"Ollie-bollen, or (Oliebollen) is a dutch pastry similar to a doughnut. It typically is a deep fried pastry filled with raisins and dusted with powdered sugar," says recipe creator FlourGirl. There is a very specific reason behind this New Year's tradition: It is said that people who eat oliebollen would survive the wrath of the Pagan goddess Perchta, who would cut open the stomachs of the rebellious. But because the doughnuts are so greasy, legend goes that Perchta's sword would slip off the stomachs of those who ate them.
South Korea: Korean Tteokguk (Rice Cake Soup)
Tteokguk is meant to be enjoyed in community, and is believed to bring good luck in the coming year. "This is a traditional dish enjoyed by many--if not all--Koreans during the New Year's and Lunar New Year holidays. Although there wasn't a lot of time for cooking or eating, I got to experience a semi-instant tteokguk for New Year's Day thanks to a good friend of mine," says recipe creator mykoreaneats.
Michigan denies Alabama it's 17th straight 10+ win season by holding on, 19 -13, in the Reliaquest Bowl. Michigan finishes 8-5 with wins over Ohio State and Alabama. 'Bama finishes 9-4 and proves it didn't belong in the CFP. #sportsonleohttps://img.inleo.io/DQmXraJsasQMwEtLkpXTfUA32qag7UeoRuutGAJJAPLjtUL/michvbama2024-12-31%20142220.png
Followers of the Big Ten have a smorgasbord of football today as Michigan takes on Alabama, Washington gets Louisville, Illinois takes on South Carolina, and Penn State gets Boise St tonight in the first CFP quarterfinal. A couple of those are BigTen/SEC matchups, which are always fun as those two conferences look for bragging rights as the best conference in the land.
So far, Michigan has the upper hand vs 'Bama, 19-13, with 4:38 left in the 4th quarter. Washington trails Louisville, 14-7, early in the 2nd quarter.

This is what happens when people 1st lose control of their own gov'ts & then allow those same gov'ts to stop fulfilling their core duties. When gov'ts stop doing their jobs, they can't complain when people take matters into their own hands.
We had 3X growth of activity after #dash integration. We can technically support anything Keystore. Aiming for 50K MAUs is far too conservative for 2025. Let's aim for 100K+
I stopped believing in resolutions years ago. I live a life of adaptability while focusing on personal growth. There will be ups and downs but I keep it moving 🦁 Being healthy is paramount. Without being healthy - mentally, physically and spiritually - everything else means nothing.
On December 31, 1972, Roberto Clemente, future Hall of Fame baseball player, is killed along with four others when the cargo plane in which he is traveling crashes off the coast of Puerto Rico. Clemente was on his way to deliver relief supplies to Nicaragua following a devastating earthquake there a week earlier.
This event is an integral part of the baseball career Roberto Clemente had. It cut his career and life short, but not before he reached the key milestone of 3,000 hits.
Being Puerto Rican on my late Mom’s side I grew up as Clemente being one of my heroes for what he did off the field. I learned about him in elementary school. I didn’t start watching baseball until 1973 so I never saw him play.
I learned about him in the late 1970s, so I knew less than you; I was lucky to see Reggie Jackson play during Peak Reggie. That's also when I learned about Nicaragua as a country (before the Daniel Ortega era).
That's why I am looking at it. I don't want to deal with all the 240 crap with these big industrial ASICs. I am looking at some of the smaller 'Home Miners' that I can also match the power usage with solar panels.
Didn't anticipate that the US stock market would be open today. They're closed on what seem like relatively less significant holidays than New Year's Eve - I surmise that's not technically a holiday, however.
Gratitude is a must, I made a cover of "Oghene-Doh" by Nigerian gospel singer-songwriter Frank Edwards. Ogene-Doh means "Thank you God" in English, We must thank God in all things.https://peakd.com/hive-195772/@sleemfit/pwbctfnw#afritunes

This kind of attitude, plus turning off the comments, makes me feel like Solana is NGMI.
Not a technical, facts-based take whatsoever. Just a vibe.

Delaying an airdrop until 2027 is ridiculous. Someone should tell them that 6 months is an eternity in crypto.
Indeed! So misleading. Should've told about their plans before users spend their valuable time for their testnets
Solana has always done things like that, but because of the genuine technical innovations, combined with the immense amount of VC money to promote it, made them not have to pay for mistakes. Yet.

Yeah, gonna be very interesting year for L1s.

Possibly.
man I hate it when they turn off comments on controversial posts
It's an obvious sign of weakness.

Well said. I still like to see how much motivation people have in the beginning of a new year!
True I see it every year where I workout. A bunch of gung ho folks that give up after two weeks lol.
yep the typical 2 weeks!
Today in History on Leo

I was watching that three homer game and the had a Reggie bar or two lol

Considering a new $DOGE / $LTC #miner
Considering this guy for the price vs efficiency. Would loan against my BTC to get it.
What do you think?

Will this run on 110 volt?
That's why I am looking at it. I don't want to deal with all the 240 crap with these big industrial ASICs. I am looking at some of the smaller 'Home Miners' that I can also match the power usage with solar panels.
that’s awesome.
yeppers. Only 400W
Didn't anticipate that the US stock market would be open today. They're closed on what seem like relatively less significant holidays than New Year's Eve - I surmise that's not technically a holiday, however.
New Years Day - Yes Closed
Why did the stock market bring a snorkel? Because it was diving deep into the sea of profits! 🏊♂️

If they want their keys right away, Keystone and Create Hive account. If he want a to try first and claim keys later, a lite account with Gmail or x.
If he's familiar with crypto, wants they keys right away, and wants an easy, secure way to sign up, keystore.
yes thank you dear friend I'm already trying to assist him with the sign up, I've showed him my account so we're still talking then I go to next person
Never onboard a crypto savvy person with Lite accounts, Keystore is the best option.
absolutely lesson learned
Are the red flag cuz Elon owns X? Lol
hahahah the guy blocked me because he thought I was scamming him just by saying he'll earn crypto
